i been telling ppl on social media...if kobe had even one all star teammate during this post shaq stretch from 2004-05 to 2006-07 he would have won at least two more championships EASY and certainly made some deep playoff runs. the Lakers really screwed him over for those 3 seasons by not getting him at least a little help.
Fr just one competent enough big . Or if they didn’t trade Shaq away for shit (minus Lamar Odom) it’s worse cause the Laker is one of the biggest franchises like with lebron in cleaveland you can excuse the lack of help cause the front office but Lakers? It’s like they turned into the Knicks as soon as Shaq wanted out
@@ADGE1515 Michael Jordan could only dream to have the work ethic that Kobe Bryant had. When it came to a complete basketball player, Kobe Bryant epitomized and embodied unequivocally the perfect basketball player. You can ride Jordan’s sac all you want, but Kobe is the true goat. 💜💛🐐🏀🏆🐍
@@zureai one important reason why I have Kobe over LeBron is because he has 8 seasons where he made both All NBA First Team and All Defense First Team. LeBron only did that 4 times.
@@seanjames6879 Lol they were debating Kobe vs MJ initially as GOAT. Then LeBron came into the league… and now all these LeBron fan suddenly have Kobe outside of top 10 🤣
Kobe was a nightmare out there on the court. The only thing I've ever seen like him was Micheal Jeffery Jordan. Will miss Kobe forever he inspires me to this day.
I was at the Clippers game and at the start, any time he got the ball was booed everytime he touched the ball (heckled everywhere too). By the end of the game everyone was chanting Kobe Kobe throughout. Also, in 2003 he had a 9-game streak of 40+
See everybody hated him calling him ball hog n crap like that but had 2 respect his game. Cant believe u got 2 watch him live that would be insane ive nvr even saw a arena jus small town dude from tn thats love basketball since discovering the game as kid in 98. Glad u got 2 experience that I'm jealous lol
I only saw Kobe once in my lifetime. It was on April 3, 2001 at Utah. The beginning of the historic 12 game ROAD winning streak (regular season including playoffs as well). They lifted the NBA trophy by not losing a single road game (April, May and June months). No other NBA team has ever done that including being undefeated on the road during the playoffs while lifting the NBA trophy. The Lakers didn't even had a 60 win season that year.
I still remember that month of January of '06 like yesterday being a die hard Spurs fan and the nba in general. I couldn't believe my eye's seeing Kobes 81 point score total in the bottom graphic banner while watching nba tv highlights on dish network....than i saw a repeat of the game they had stuck on nba tv all day. I still have it. I still remember fred carter saying it was better than wilts hundred because Kobes was mostly outside shots. Idk about that. But i knew than I had witnessed history....true story new orleans hornets during that time lossed to my Spurs 115-68 or something ridiculous and sean elloit had to point the fact Kobe outscored the hornets 68 points with his 81 all by himself...lol.
When Wilt scored 100, the league average was higher than it was when Kobe scored 81. Imo, his game vs Dallas with 62 in 3 quarters was even more crazy. If he wanted to, I think he could've actually scored 100 in that game.
@@melvinhhcp3615 absolutely 💯 true, I saw that game live. He torched the mavs this was Kobe in his prime. It was so incredibly hard to beat. I can recall another Spurs vs Lakers game that same season. I had recorded. Now, the first 3 quarters are the entire Spurs team hitting most of thier shots, in a 20 point plus blowout.. until Kobe caught fire out of nowhere....it was absolutely incredible...once again. You can see Kobe single handed devour this 25 point plus lead with three's. He must of hit like 6 of 8 maybe more, All the way back until the single digits....it was something I've never seen before..he did something similar In 2003 game five semi finals also. He'd nearly brought his team back to win all by himself. If it wasn't for Michael Finley hitting a dagger shot to finally finish them off. It was absolutely incredible. Kobes offensive game that season. Was unlike anything I've ever seen before since.
I hated Kobe before. He was cocky as hell. I was a kid then and a Kings fan XD. Then you keep watching and realize there are other players you liked who were cocky too but not even half as good. Kobe's been one of my favorite players ever since. He was just too good.
I didn't hate him persay I did when he beat my spurs lol but yea I jus was like hes 2 good didn't really appreciate what he was doing till that last injury then could see the impact he made on the game and 4 that Laker organization. Its shameful what some dudes say bout him and his game. He was 1 of the best right up there wit MJ and the older past players he molded all that knowledge into his own game jus 2 good.
Don’t forget.. apart from his offensive prowess, Kobe also likes to guard the best player on the opposing team. Like bro was really out there guarding Dwade, Carmelo, tmac, Lebron, Derrick rose 😂. Wish there were more players like that. It gives the fans what they want.. the best guarding the best and battling it out.
If you really watch Kobe games, you won't say something as dumb as this. In fact, Kobe likes to take a rest in defensive possession. The last time he takes it personal trying to guard Billups it didn't end well, and he get his ass kicked at both ends of the floor.
@@dogtuber4172 so you’re telling me from age 19-25 Kobe achieved 12 defensive teams? and LeBron on his 20th season is at a solid 6? Lol make it make sense
Is fake one, Kobe don't deserve 12 defensive team at all, I almost watched all of his career games, I think he deserves it in around 5 seasons but most of the post Shaq seasons he doesn't deserve at all.@@zureai
Kobe coulda won 8 rings if the Lakers got him the proper help 😔 Even worse that that CP3 trade got vetoed just imagine what that duo woulda accomplished..
people don't really credit kobe for being a pioneer of how we approach the 3 ball in the modern nba. Man was pulling contested threes from range over everyone, pulling threes on transition
An incredible artist , so much sophistication and beauty in his game , it’s not what he did that was amazing , it’s how he did it and he did it better than most who have ever played the game.
The greatest #13 overall pick of all time having an amazing 13 game stretch in the month of January.. Disney couldn't write a better script lol I was 16 at the time and used to stay up late in the east coast to watch every national televised Lakers game lol what a time to be alive 💯
Kobe may not be the goat, but I think he is universally the most respected NBA player in history. There is still beef between Michael Jordan and other players in his generation but you couldn't stop Kobe. Players may have won against him but the dude made sure he won the war.
@@harrym9655Bron has the better head to head vs Kobe with a higher scoring avg, assist avg, and rebound avg. look it up. Plus there is a five minute video of Kobe doing exactly the same thing Jordan did in games. No. There is one Jordan and if Kobe is a copy of Jordan’s game and didn’t establish his own game how is he number 2????. Love Kobe and followed him since lower Marion since he was a few years older but come on
@@jaystacks5249 Are you really bringing up regular season matchups lol… how many of those games were when Lebron had his Super team in Miami and after Kobe’s injury lol..
@@jaystacks5249but bro how is that honestly a knock tho? I hear that argument all the time but everybody, excluding the youngsters, have mj as the goat and by your words kobe is a copy of that. Again how is that a bad thing? Also, it must not be easy to b a copy of the goat otherwise everyone would be doing it, however the only person that can make this claim or have others accuse him of this claim is Ko8e
This month was still squarely during the "dead ball" era of the NBA. When paints were clogged, 24-seconds clocks mattered (lol). Teams were still averaging points in the low 90s. Seeing some of these final scores in double digits while Kobe was putting up these ridiculous numbers was the most impressive. This was before the "pace" and "3pt or layup" era of the NBA. Imagine what he'd do in today's floor "spacing" . Damn.
people try to invalidate everything he did because of an extra 1-3 misses per game compared to jordan's FG% as if kobe wasn't facing the exact defenses teams had been working on since Jordan to stop that type of player. Kobe had it way tougher yet still put up all time numbers
Funny, I tired to explain this to some idiot. 5/10 is 50 percent and 4.5/10 is 45 percent. I’m still not sure how that’s inefficient when you’re a perimeter player?
Plus Kobe faced zone and there was no illegal defense like in 90's, the sg position players were also more athletic and taller, obviously Kobe had way more adversities than Mike but I guess to MJ fans nostalgia is a hell of a drug..
@@angelos2446Mike faced tougher physical rules. The Pistons & Knicks actually beat him into the ground. By the time Kobe was in his prime, that sort of physical play was illegal.
MUTHAFUCKA WENT CRAZY. GODAAMN MAN I REMEMBER WATCHING THIS SHIT THAT MONTH. HAD THE NBA IN A DEATH GRIP. TRUE MAMBA SHIT STRIKING AT EVERYTHING MOVING. GOD-MODE SHIT💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿🐍🐍🐍
The 81 pts game display Kobe put on hasn't been surpassed even in this new era of high volume 3pt shooting with little to no defense. Kobe is next to MJ.
An older slower, injured Kobe needed one All Star to pull off back to back chips and historic runs to three straight finals. This Kobe with one All Star and that team wins 5 straight Chips.
Look, I love Wilt as much as the next, but lets state the facts. Wilt was not more talented than Kobe, he just happen to be “The Largest most athletic human ever” and play in the 60s. He also played against significantly inferior competition, with a significant advantage. Kobe p4p was the best Laker in any generation. Period.
happy new year with all due respect what does it matter if someone imitated another person that’s the biggest form of flattery and there’s nothing new under the sun that’s where all creativity stems from something that proceeded, there was a lot of people to try to imitate Mike, Kobe was just the one that came the closest, but he also made his own mark on the game, also if what Kobe and Mike stood for is hard work, dedication passion, and excellence. Is that a bad thing?
Lebron weaknesses are Kobe’s strengths and Kobe weaknesses are lebrons strengths. I’ll take Kobe because lebron is not as skilled he plays bully ball because he’s bigger faster stronger than the people guarding him but he will hesitate to take the last shot miss the shot against the nuggets after getting swept and then claim he might retire. What a cope out he knows he wasn’t retiring but didn’t want the media to bash him all summer
@@Coop0 I’m an nba scout buddy I watched 85 percent of nba players in high school I know nba players I went to high school with nba players. Lebron weakness is his unwillingness to shoot the ball in clutch time moments he gonna pass the ball to a player not a talented as him and then media says lebron needs more help. Kobe weakness was his unwillingness to pass to teammates. That’s all I’m saying
One of my fav game was when he played the blazers. Hit an impossible 3 to send it to OT. Then another impossible 3 in OT to win. Kobe would average 40+ in today's soft nba. Always lol when lebron fan boys only brings up stats for arguments. Kobe could of easily gotten 1-2 more mvp and scoring titles. Shit, imo his path to the finals is probably the hardest. The west was stacked.
I'm so grateful to be able to watch Kobe play the game. I assume it's similar to ol heads watching MJ play. Kobe did things I haven't seen done since he did. Every generation has their GOAT. Right now we're in the Lebron Era. These clowns love to put Lebron over Kobe. But in my opinion, it'll always be 1.Mj 2.Kobe 3.everybody 4.else
I remember when Kobe had 62 v Mavs. I remember saying imagine if he was that hot and played all 4 quarters. And so happens he dropped the 81 not long after that. Lol
I’m still shocked how you trade the best big in the game and only get Odom back as a consistent starter/role player. Butler decent but we only had him for a year or something.
Yet! Some people will come and say oh he shot too much! Alot of those shots were under the 3-5 second mark on the shot clock! When you are cooking you are cooking!!
Like really still to this day u see some shit now that Kobe did pull up KD curry deep three LeBron dunk mj dunk Kobe did it all of it and more fav player miss plays like this like how the fuck did he make that curry give u that
