Damn son you really hype up my car I have the 12 impala w/ custom leather seats, sunroof, intake, tint, all the nice stuff. I’ve debadged it and added a plain black grill and custom tail lights. You’d love it. Thanks for the review I appreciate the love. Trunk really is huge I got a full size spare and and full size jack and still have tons of space.
I have a 2012 impala. Got it with 115k miles on it fixing to hit the 140k miles on it and the only repairs I've had to do was a new tire that busted and it was completely my fault. Regular oil changes and it's still running strong. Big on the inside, its quick, and goddam I swear I can fit just about everything in the trunk. Worth it
I run a 2015 limited, she FLIES it’s beautiful- I had enough empty highway space to get her to 100 today, kid you not it took barely 10 seconds, all stock. She’s a dream :,) I agree the steering is heavy, but it makes for more careful driving to combat how quickly she speeds up. Definitely keeps you feeling in control, as you said. Glad I purchased it, sleeper for sure
I bought a 2013 Impala LT last year with only 5600 miles last year for $12,500. The only thing I have had to do is the Mobil 1 full synthetic oil change. The car definitely flies and sounds great!
David Stancu it is actually fast . And can beat a lot of mustangs .the older 5.0 he probably means . This lt is actually faster than the ss version of it
I've had 6 cars in the last 3 years, all which were different in style, price and speed, for anyone interested I'll give you my opinion. The fastest car I had and my favorite was my 2015 dodge challenger rt/plus, I also had a 2010 Kia forte koup sx, 2019 Kia forte lxs, 2013 Lincoln mks, 2019 dodge challenger sxt, and now I currently drive a 2014 Chevy Impala limited lt. Let me explain why I went through the cars and why I am driving the Impala. First of all, I bought cheap cars at first because I want to be smart financially, so I started off with the Kia sx koup. After I paid it off I said screw it and bought more expensive cars, regretted my decision, went back to a cheaper car which was the Lincoln mks, after I spent so much money on those cars I said screw it again and bought the V8 challenger since it was my dream car, traded that in because I realized I was not being smart and also lived in a dumb area where owning the challenger was causing people to hawk it and come up to me all the time. I ended up staying with the Impala temporality until I can move into a place that has a garage, driveway or at least a better neighborhood. I also figured I needed to stop being dumb and owing debt and that I should get that challenger later when I can actually afford it. So here is my take on all those cars I had. All of those cars I had felt fast in their own way except the Kia lxs. The challenger rt is not even a comparison, it's just way more badass than the rest simply because of the sound alone. I liked every car I had but also has things I disliked. The Kia sx felt fast and had a premium sound system, the lxs was nicer, better gas, felt much slower and I didn't like the sound system that much. The challenger V6 felt awesome but I didn't like that I choose that over the V8 since the V8 was my dream car, so for me even though the V6 was fast enough and cool, it didn't feel right, felt pointless to be honest having a V6 Challenger other than for the looks of it. Then I had the Lincoln mks, that thing was pretty fast for how big the car was and the sound system was awesome. The thing I HATED about that car was the leather cracking on the seats pissed me off. The challenger V8 was obviously the best, no complains other than people will bother you over the car and it will eventually get on your nerves if you dont live in a nice neighborhood. I also didn't like the leather was also starting to crack. This car was also faster than almost any car on the road, the only normal cars people drove faster than it was maybe mustangs, Camaros or those Ford focus models that are fast. Most people where I live aren't in a supercar so the challenger would beat almost everything, not many people even tried racing it because I guess it looks intimidating. I am a person who likes Performance but I also wanted a car without any major debt or dislikes. This is where the Impala comes in. The Impala you can get with cloth seats which I liked since every leather seated car I had cracked or had lines through the seat and I couldn't stand it. The Impala is also 4 doors unlike the challenger. The Impala has a decent sound system, it's not the best but it's not crappy. So I am satisfied with it because at least it's not horrible. The car can be had relatively cheap under 10k or under 6-8k also depending on milage. A normal person can pay that debt off relatively fast if they was to have a loan on it. The 3.6l V6 has around 300hp and the car is fast enough. It doesn't feel slower than any of those other cars besides the challenger rt that I had. Assuming that nothing major is wrong with the car, it's a freaking nice deal, and if I could rewind time I would have chosen this as my first car. The reason is because it has everything, it has decent power (faster than most cars on the road), it has 4 doors, you can get non leather seats so it doesn't crack, sound system is alright, the car is affordable and you can get out of debt quicker if you have to go down the loan route, insurance is cheaper as well, and parts are cheaper. It has everything and if I would have chosen this as my first car I would have saved at least 15,000 to 20,000 dollars and that's not a joke. I lost money by trading each of my cars in, and I also was paying on each car. If I would have had this car from the start and kept it for 3 years I would already have that challenger rt with the money I saved it at least most of it paid off. I also realized upgrading my car can only make me so happy, and it's not a good feeling knowing you owe a bunch of money on a car that can easily be scratched or ruined. I learned to be grateful to have a ride and just to get something I can afford that is reasonable. So my advice is. If you are a person who is thinking about getting a car, trading in one, or getting your first. The Impala would make a good first car. The only thing I heard you need to watch out for is making sure the oil was changed and maintenance is up to date on the vehicle, I heard the ones with the timing chain had issues whenever people neglected the oil changed. Key word, NEGLECTED. If you get an Impala realize it's not a Honda or Toyota and that you need to get one that has a good maintenance record. I like cars that have some performance, the Impala is definitely not as fast as that rt I had, but it's fast enough for me to have fun in, and if you wanted to, you could always buy a cold air intake with a tune up. Wither you want performance or just a car, I think the Impala has a balance of everything a person could want. Now if you make more money or can afford it, yeah buy your dream car. With the challenger I got many compliments and it felt awesome, but I also was paranoid everytime it sat in the parking lot when I heard people around it or walking by it, especially when I owed a decent amount on it. I realized it's DUMB to have a nice car in a bad area. If you're going to get a nicer car, make sure you either live in a good area or have a driveway/garage to protect it. I was tired of the debt and paranoia so now I'm driving a 2014 impala limited. I didn't give up on my dream car, I just realized I can get it later and don't need to have it right now. This is just my advice/opinion as someone who went through cars thinking it would make me feel better. I don't regret driving this Impala and I don't miss my challenger that much, I think the reason I don't miss it is because I owed a bunch of money on it, it made me paranoid and I couldn't protect it. The main thing I notice with this Impala is that there is a little delay on the low end when I press the gas, but then you feel the power when you give it some more and it starts going. I don't have any regrets in terms of power either, I'm still faster than I'd say 70% or more of the cars on the road, most cars are 4cyl anyway or slower V6. I'm not saying to get one, just giving you my input since I had other cars to compare it to.
I got a 2015 Limited LT, it’s the old style from 06-13. I love mine, its actually my first car too I got when I was 21. Maintanence is super easy I do it on my own. Sure a gas guzzle but I drive the highway always. Nice large size to carry my family and trunk for the luggage. I’m at 80K now and it runs awesome still
Maaannnnn!! Lol you're exactly right. They're fast. Light weight. Roomy. My wife bought a 08 years ago. I felt in love with it. Now I have an 06. Had it 3 weeks. Love it love it love it. The steering tracks really well like it riding on rails. Suspension not too hard. Not too soft. It's just right. Im gonna buy another ...one day
James Harrison the 3.6 will pull hard on the SS from 0-80 after that the SS takes the win, now after a tune and a throttle body I cant imagine the SS would have a chance at all.
I have the same make and model. Yes, I was really surprised at how fast that thing is for a now nine year old family hauler. No, you're not going to win drag races, but you will have fun driving it. And absolutely no problems getting up to highway speeds if you're in a hurry.
You got this right. I have a 2012 Impala LT its Ashen Gray Metallic was ordered with a power sunroof, spoiler, fold down rear seats. It basically has everything the LTZ has except leather seats and heated seats 18 in wheels. I really like it
I just got an 07 with the 3.5 and I was absolutely shocked with how it handles and the power it has. Also has 250k on the clock and nearly no rust in Northern Michigan. I can't wait for spring to come back around and start fixing the minor paint defects and such and making it my own. Idk what the hp difference is between this 3.6 vvt and my 3.5, now I want to go look it up. Great review!
I just bought this car. It's black and i tinted the windows. I would cruise around but one day i needed the power and BOOM!!! i was moving. It really is a great car.
Great review. Considering buying one myself. I just picked up an 05 Suburban Z71 4x4 dirt cheap and may pick one of these up for dirt cheap as well. I love my BMW for luxury and speed, but don’t want to put a lot of miles on it and my P71 Crown vic is down at the moment, so that’s where this car will come in. New subscriber.
I'm a proud owner of 2 Chevy Impalas, both 2006's 1st car is a SS V8 5.3 ltr. 2nd car is LT V6 3.9 ltr. Both cars haul ass never had issues taking off.... Always use SHELL SUPER UNLEADED. It is recommended for the SS. I used it in my LT and she takes off at the light....
I use to own a 2003 impala with a 3.4 v6 and a 2005 Impala LS 3.8 Liter v6 and they both had 200 horsepower. Even tho their engines were smaller and lacked on horsepower then the later models, those cars got up in speed and acceleration. Overall, Impalas are and have always been decent cars on an honest note, that's why I've owned 2 of them. People sleep on these cars all the time, you'd be amazed at what these cars can do, especially this one on the video. These particular models are a far cry from the earlier ones. Going from 200 to a 300+ horsepower engine in a family full size sports sedan is insane💯.
Those are good cars I’m actually thinking about buying one myself and the reason why they’re fast is because they’re used as police cars so they’re used as police cars they’re pretty damn good and reliable plus fast👌🔥💯
I have a red 2013 Impala LT great car low maintaince 184,000 miles. going for over 500,000 miles. Only real problems are the wheel bearing hub assembly, and fix my entire air conditioning unit. value of car has gone up. I wll be upgrading this car. Also have a silver 2008 silverado pickup with 96,000 miles this also runs great planning on upgrading this as well and taking it to over 1,000,00 miles if possible. no body rust anywhere. value has gone up on this truck as well.
I love my car! 2012 LT3 3.6 liter engine with VVT Variable Valve Timing, 306 hp stock!! I have custom exhaust with 2 Flow Master 40 Series mufflers. K&N Cold Air intake and a JET air mass sensor. I run 91 octane and run cross drilled & slotted rotors front and back. Custom grill upper and lower. I have all my windows limousine tint all the way around, Spyder Halo aftermarket head lights and custom rear taillights. Kenwood 692 DNX DVD player and a 10" rear monitor with 3 kicker amps! 6 Kenwood speakers and a 12" JBL Subwoofer 400w amp and crossover She's my work car. I'm 6'2 245lbs and LOVE driving this car!! Great review!
I have a 2014 impala Limited same body style same engine I’ve dusted V8 Silverado‘s in this can’t beat most cars on the highway because of the governor this car maxes out at 114 stock But on a drag race on the main road it’s very fast , without a governor it would hit 140 on the highway no problem
My Impala is 233,340 and run very smoothly only oil change , I could not believe how smooth this car is when I replace the engine and transmission mounts !!!!
Gotta 2012 Impala LTZ on the cheap- at 103k mi in Nov 22 Fast forward to now and my 2020 sits in the driveway. The 2000-2005 impala 3.8L engine is legendary
@@SF.Automotive I have a 13 w/ 135k and it feels like its barely broken in. I've heard nothing but good things reliability-wise, that's why I bought mine. I assume the 12 is identical, really is a good buy
I drove a 07 3.9l v6 Impala and I went 0-60mph (97km/h) in 5.6 seconds, and 120mph (193km/h)in 11.2 seconds, then I just held in the gas since I had the tracker on and hit 187.2mph (301km/h) in 21.9 seconds, I had to let off but it would hit 200mph on a slight downhill going straight. It does have the limiter removed and a upgraded torque converter, I was shocked to be moving that fast in such a big car, the tunnel vision and feeling all together felt unreal.
I owned the identical car, now own a 2012 Acadia with the same engine, dual exhaust with twin pipes on each side, and for a big SUV that thing will scream.
Yup, there is a dude who has a 13 that runs low 13's sec. 1/4 mile with that 3.6. With simple bolt ons he pushing around 370 hp. Look him up, he call his chanel ImpalaLFX13. He documents all the parts on dyno and track. Impressive for a big boat
You can shift up and down gears u have to put the car in low and then on your dash you'll see the gear number you are currently in and you use the buttons on the back left of steering wheel to go up and down gears (like a manual option) granted it's not paddle shifters but can do they same
My ex had one we would race all the time ..I have a 05 6mt g35 and at a dig she would beat me by a lil at 40 roll id win by a lil ..the imapla was pretty reliable the 2 years i knew her nothing went wrong drove it to New Mexico too ..time span i was with her 89k -100k I did oil changes on it lol n spark plugs
That 3.6 V6 comes in the older 06-13 body style Impala all the way to 2014-2016 under the name impala Limited. The limited was made for rental/fleet cars. I have a 2014 limited with a trifecta tune and it flies. I don't like the electronic/wireless throttle tho. Even tuned the "dead spots" piss me off sometimes.
@@Likethisjob ...the 3.6 comes standard as the only motor available from 2012-2016 impala and impala limited. The 2006 -2011 had either the 3.5 or 3.9,or the 5.3 in SS form. The 3.6 was an amazing motor and the 6 speed auto was much more durable than the shit eating 4T65 R of previous models. The 2012 up with 300 hp and 6 speed auto were crazy quick stock and got fantastic gas mileage to boot. Anyone who tries to tell you any different is an ill informed idiot. I have had many, mostly ex-police and can definitely attest to their abilities. The non police ones were pretty much the same, but the 9c1s(police)were slightly tweaked for police specs.
@@lawrencelampke6007 i agree 100% i had 6 speed manual 1995 lt1 trans am from 1995-2001 then bought a ls1 trans am. Point being my 3.6 impala (tuned) could run with those lt1 camaros and firebirds (stock) all day. I'm considering getting a 2020 camaro 3.6 with the 10 speed auto. Sure it will be fast enough for me since I'm not a street racer, and i love my 3.6 performance in my impala.
I have a 2012 Impala LS that I've had for five years now and mine's silver too and I think most of them from that year are silver and it has a fast V6 engine and I can drive up a steep hill at 70 or faster if I want to. I don't like the body style very much anymore though and I wanna get a Camaro or maybe a Dodge when I buy another car and I'll look at some import cars like Hondas also
Just look for the 2014 Chevy SS ( It's not an Impala SS). Looks similar to a Malibu but it's rear wheel drive and has a 415 hp 6.2L V8. Think of a 4 door Camaro SS. You will run with or even beat any Dodge Charger RT ( Hemi V8's). Now Hellcats will squash it in a straight line but the SS will suprise you none the less.
The new Impalas are very sharp looking cars. Black would be my preference and that is the only color I will own. My personal car is a 08 Buick Lacrosse. Looks very good in black with that nice chrome waterfall grille. The newer Buick Lacrosse is another car you could take a look at. It's a sister car the Impala and Cadilac XTS. So the Impala, Lacrosse and XTS are all on the same platform (epsilon 2 vs older epsilon) just like the older versions of these cars did.
Ok I'll probably stick with Chevy but I've liked the looks of the Dodge Challengers for years but I cant afford them now anyway. I test drove a black 2011 Dodge Avenger in '13 right before I bought the Impala and it had good looking 18 inch silver rims and bigger tires that would be more expensive to buy and it had kind of high miles and a four banger engine so I passed.
I hate to admit my brother-in-law is an engineer for Chrysler in Auburn Hills. I don't care for the engineers because they don't understand how it to work on these vehicles. They have been designing some pretty sharp vehicles. The brother-in-law is part of the team working on the RAMS. The problem with Chrysler, is they have too many gremlins popping up here and there. All the manufacturers do have their quirks. GM has had their share, to say the least, but has never left me stranded. I have nothing to say about Fords other than the 80's Escorts were a pile of junk. I will say one good thing about Ford, there is a reason the F150 is the top seller it is. For the four bangers, they make now are nothing to sneeze at. Had a 2.2L in my 07 Malibu that was very spunky in such a heavy car. There was an issue/Safety issue with the electric power steering that GM just blew off. Even though on the highway at 70 MPH the steering wheel would completely lock up for a split second. I'm no small guy and not being able to move that wheel is very concerning. Well when I sold the car, everyone who tests drove it swore it had to be a V6 car. The Challengers have always been a sharp car. I have always wanted a 72 with the Hemi and 4 speed. Just go with what you like and can afford. The old saying, they don't build them like they use to is a good thing. These newer drivetrains will outlast the older ones by a longshot as long as they are maintained properly with the occasional lemon from tme to time.
Bond skyfall and I have so much torque steer and I can’t really stand it when I have the steering wheel turned all the way and then try and step on the accelerator half ways it makes a weird feeling. My brother said his Malibu would do the same thing.
Bond skyfall ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VLLH30shSvE.html here. This is the video. Please DONT argue with the 0-60 because I used my stopwatch from my other iPhone to get the time. And I’ve checked it multiple times
@@awkwardsanchez6231 they definitely DON'T have the same engine as this is the LFX high output V6 from the camaro... maybe had the same displacement but not the same engine, this car will WALK a G6 lmao
I Still Love This Bodystyle I Perfer A LTZ OR SS Tho Both HAVE To Have A Sunroof No Exceptions The SS Was Discontinued In 2009 I Would Buy A 2006-2009 SS & Would Take The Rocker Panels Off A 2012-2016 Limited & Put It On The SS To Make It Look Sportier
I have a 2014 Impala lt and I've put 64k miles in 2 years. It is a 3.6L. within the 2 years, my steering rack is leaking, it pops when reversing and slowing down. My resistor and wire harness to my blower motor broke. The ground wire melted it self to the casing and the a post on the resistor broke and melted. Also any other Impala owners hear a metal rattle in the back when hitting a bump? Sounds like somethings loose.
If anyone in California is interested in buying one, im selling mine soon. Its a 2012 LTZ, black int/ext. Fun car, pretty reliable. Selling because I want a miata lol
I mean, I wouldn't call it "crazy." It's okay, but not outstanding. It's not meant to be outstanding. The car has the engine it has because GM didn't have any other engine once they got rid of the pushrod V6 and the V8. They never intended to make a sports car in any way, shape or form. I love my 2013 LT Impala, and I must admit it is fun pushing it on the highway. For the price, you can't really get something with this kind of power, but you can definitely get something with better finish, handling, comfort and reliability.
Lol I got a 2009 chevy impala 3.5 v6 for a first car even tho it has 211hp lt feels quick I raced a 2005 mustang v6 and beat it slightly it was close asf it was a roll race but I love driving the car it should have been rwd
Ss only got 4 speed with 2 more horse and 30 fpotourqe more. Rather have the all aluminum block and heads from the V6 over the 8. 6 is much lighter you got a 6 speed with the 6 too
I own a 2012 with over 200,000 miles the car is fast reliable and basically everything he's showing in the video I highly recommend this car ironically I'm also selling mine
