The 2019 Sony XB32 Vs The 2018 XB31 - Is It Worth The Upgrade? 

FYI, the SRS-XB31 does claim corrosion proof exterior and I have been using in the ocean (literally attached to a anchored floating cooler not just on the sand) for past year and had zero problems or degradation.

The sound of the 32 is slightly better than the 31. Highs are more crispy and bass is more defined. But if you already have the 31, the 32 is not major upgrade.

I already have an older Sony Soundbar which still sounds amazing! Sony never really gets their speakers wrong. These smaller speakers really work well in party situations and as a portable speaker. Not too much of a difference between the 2 the XB31 are a bit louder to me, but like you said, the 32 is a lil more crisp! Great video 😎

The xb31 is only $60 on Amazon right now, that's sounds like the win to me

The 32 sounds fantastic clear as hell .. The mids are wonder..You can’t compare the 2:.. I took my Bose smart speaker back the one that coast 400 dollars because this thing is that good...

Sb31 has more bass. The Xb32 has more treble. But you can alter that in the Sony app equaliser. Job done. And yes the Xb31 looks more premium. I pair my 31 with my xb41. Sounds amazing alone or paired. Also the light bars looked thinner on the Xb32 .

Walmart has the xb31 on clearance for $69.99 . Couldn’t pass it up.

Just different build but they are the same. With good equaliser, you can make them sound thesame. The live sound in xb31 is everything. It's not worth the upgrade. Xb31 for me until xb42 or something else comes out

A bit clearer for sure...ill get the blue varient, for it can party chain with my xb30,31as well as my xb20,21,40&41..bad that there's no xb42

I used to have a Sony SRS XB31 but unfortunately it had some problems, after 1 month of normal use ( about once or twice a week) it had bass problems, at high volume it distorted a lot and the battery life was about half an hour at full volume so I took it to warranty. They told me they couldn't repair my speaker and I had to take another one, so I took the XB32, I kinda like XB31 the way it looks better than XB32 but hopefully this one doesn't have the same problem I had with the other one.

If you have to ask if the upgrade is worth it, it's not worth it. My XB31 just broke yesterday, apparently, after hooking an auxiliary cord into it and connecting it to my laptop. I didn't even turn the volume up loud, but apparently it made it where it's stuck in power down mandatory 20% volume mode; you know, what it does when the battery is nearly depleted.

XbX1 series are all salt water resistant. That's why almost all ads were on the ocean/ beach

The one think that i wonder about the most is will the rubber backing on the XB32 start to feal tacky or sticky, and eventually start to peel off. I hat it when that happens.

XB31 is affected by a buzzing issue that starts after a few months. It is a known issue and a common problem. It happened to my XB31 too, I took it to the repair service and they changed it for a brand new XB32. I loved my 31, I hope I'll enjoy the 32 the same (and that I it won't fail after some time).

I Just buy the xb32 on Bestbuy, first i hear the xb31 and it sounds good, when I hear the xb32 it was amazing the clear sound and the bass the xb32 has, 100% better than xb31 in all aspects and in the design is better too.

I'd like your opinion Dan, I'm in the market, I can get an Amazon Renewed XB31 for $62 or a new XB32 for $98. I love the look of the 31 but haven't heard the sound(in person) I've heard the sound of the 32 and was quite impressed. the battery in the 31 is terrible, two hours max without the lights on and you cant charge it while its playing. dont buy it.
