The #HondaAccord has long been the benchmark family sedan in America for well over 30 years. While American's continue to buy SUV's by the truckloads, the #Accord has consistently been one of ‪@Honda‬ 's best-sellers with #Honda moving just under 200,000 units in 2020. For 2021, the #Accord and #AccordHybrid gets some minor tweaks with newly available wireless Apple CarPlay, more standard safety tech, and changes to the 2-motor hybrid drivetrain that make it perform much smoother this year.

You rightly mentioned Hyundai and Kia, which both are killing it right now with value, tech, and performance, plus the old canned response of "yeah, but their reliability, and build quality sucks" just doesn't hold water anymore... I always ask those who say that if they have driven one in the past 2 or 3 model years, and the answer is always no, which means the opinion is based on rumor or hearsay...

It does still have the performance edge. But I'm not sure about steering feel. It was always numb and lacking in response and linearity to me. Speaking as an owner.

The pick-up is incredible with the 2.0 Turbo, the technology is incredible along with the ride… especially for the money! You should have compared the 2.0T touring to the others when you gave it a hard time. Then you mentioned the paddles, in the 2.0 they do shift the gears. That hybrid sedan is not for power it is for economy. Btw you also mentioned heated steering wheel heat is not available but that is incorrect. I have a 2018 1.5T Touring Accord and I absolutely love it! Normally 3 years in, I am starting to get bored and ready for a new ride but not with this Accord. It has all the tech features, practicality, and drivability that satisfies me. I thought about the 2.0T when I bought it and also the Hybrid but the deals on the hybrid were practically non existent and I decided the 1.5 was good enough to keep me happy (and I was right). Finally gas mileage is nothing short of phenomenal. When I am driving conservatively, I can see over 40 mpg on the highway. That makes me very happy. When I do replace this car, there is a good chance I will do so with another Accord. No sense in doing that until after 2023 when it is completely redesigned. My wishlist for that redesign: get rid of the claw like taillights and replace with a full LED set. Also let’s go full digital on the instrument cluster like the Civic and CR-V.

@@f181234 It's looking like 2022 will do away with the 19s in favor of 17s or 18s since they're doing it on the insight and civic touring as well. The 19s just had too many problems from terrible fuel efficiency to frequent tire replacement. The forums are full of people having issues. A few people even preemptively traded their wheels for 17s with someone who had a different trim. The 19s are a dealbreaker for me on the touring.

Even the Malibu 1.5t is quicker than the Accord 1.5t in Motor Trend handling test: "The Malibu lapped our figure-eight course in 27.4 seconds averaging 0.63 g through the process and managed 0.84 g average during lateral acceleration tests" 2018 Accord 1.5t only registered a lateral grip of 0.81g versus 0.78 and a figure-eight time of 27.7 seconds at 0.61g A Malibu 1.5T can be had for US$13,000 good luck finding Japanese competition that inexpensive.

Accord Hybrid 0-60 Guide! Turn off traction control, enable brake hold function, put it in sport mode, come to a complete stop, take the foot of the brake pedal, and when ready, smash the gas pedal as fast as possible. The key is to hit the gas pedal instantly! No 2 feet engine revving method required. Electric motors respond better if u hit the gas pedal instantly from a complete stop. I clocked 0-60 in 6.3 seconds with a little bit of a tire spin, so I'm sure it can do 0-60 in 6 seconds. Mine is a 2018 Accord Hybrid

Just like you said it doesn't wow me. There is no denying the Honda accord. Honda has been doing this for centuries and have earned every praise. I've been with Honda for a while now and times before and I've just grown numb to it. Honda just doesn't excite me anymore. I guess I've gotten to the point that it's time to experience other manufacturers and what they offer. I know what to expect from Honda and that's a compliment.
