This is my favorite car. It embodies success to me. I literally have a hot wheels version of it to keep this car in mind to keep me aligned with success every day.
It embodies stupidity to me for paying MRSP plus mark up that almost the same as price of a two new cars, other words buy two cars to get one and waiting longer than it takes to build a new house.
I recently bought a Taycan Turbo and LC500 (inheritance i know) but I was so close to pulling the trigger on this.. I just don't like the interiors but the driving experience is badass
I know a lot of Corvette enthusiasts will disagree with me, but I think their decision to make the Corvette mid engine was the best thing that could’ve ever happened to the car. IMO I always thought the previous gen vettes with the front engine were cool, but I never considered them special or unique, I kinda just felt they were glorified Camaros. But when they came out with the mid engine C8, I really thought it brought a special and exotic feel to the corvette for the first time. Especially this Z06 with the flat plane V8 really makes this feel special.
Lol.. and why Corvette lover would hate it..? I m a vette guy, and i absolutely loved coz they leveled up their competition straight to supercars... It was a huge leap from C7 ZR1
See the c7 it’s like Ferrari 812 and C8 Z06 it’s like lambo huracán even tho the lambo only has 630 horse power and z06 is 670 it’s time to have our own American super car even tho c7 ZRL was good enough tho
Man, I watch car videos on RU-vid a lot but this one got my heart racing. Its an intense car. Wow. It's crazy how it goes from relaxed in town to totally waking up on the canyons. Wish they got more feedback through the steering.

The fact that this car in Z07 guise can run with a 992 GT3 RS is wild. GM made a monster with the C8 Z06. Oh, and coupe all the way for me; you gotta have that engine on display, and the coupe is lighter!
100% the sound with the HTC down is INSANE. I can't stop driving mine. Bought my 2024 c8 z07 HTC a month ago with 18 miles on her. Now she is at 1350! No issues! 40-80 time is 2.7 seconds. and 40-100 in 4.9. I'll be testing 60-100 next.
The C6 Z06 had a bespoke engine as far as Corvettes are concerned. No other Vette had the monstrous 7.0 L LS7 … But the Camaro did get it for the Z28 in 14-15’ I had that car for a few years so wanted to point that out. But your videos overall are great man
Darker blues are my go-to colors, and the Elkhart Lake/Riptide Blues are spectacular. If I were to order one, I would go with the body color cowls and Inlet, along with the ground effects in carbon flash, and have them paint-matched. I'd also choose the natural dipped interior color instead of that weird two-tone blue. IMO, that would definitely make the Vette in blue pop.
I’m happy with the vert. I’ve had pangs of regret as the silhouette of coupe is fire. But the 1/4 shot from the rear on the vert has me looking back every time. It’s got that Spaynish bull type thang going on you know lol. I’m white with black top and nalences. Honestly I only share as you just have the best review of the c8z06 I’ve seen. And I’ve see. All.
great review! the Z06 is still far from perfect, but it's a breath of fresh air. when compared to cars like MC20 or R8 the ZO6 is a good option. I just hope GM doesn't hold back on the ZR1. honestly i expect at least 800hp+
This dude comparing an R8 with this clown car 😂🤣 just because it’s a clone of a Ferrari doesn’t mean it’s even in the class of an R8. Btw the interior so tacky. I can find everything in the interior for my C5 too. The door stitch cloth is like $200 bucks on eBay. Flat top and bottom steering wheel wooohoo my 20 year old car has that too. Alcantara with carbon fiber steering wheel. That sound sounds like a Ferrari. Nothing screams corvette. Corvette means revolutionary not tacky.

I wanted to know about the head-up display, in your videos the display flashes, is it because of the camera you're filming with or is it always in flashing mode ? And ofc the cabriolet its better ;)
Did you hear there is a ZR1 coming? Apparently it's not going to be a supercharged V8 anymore and will have the same flat plane V8 as the Z06 but with a pare of twin turbos, how interesting is that going to be?
Ya know alot of these folks dont get it but i drove a beat up 04 dodge ram with that good old thin truck glass, rusted out running boards and cab corners both rear shocks blown out and in desperate need of a tie rod end. Road noise is fine in these new corvettes. It was fine in the c7 and even the c6. They are fine. Dont like the road noise? Get a car with smaller narrower tires.
Great review, you have reviewed a whole bunch of European “Dream cars” yet you have a Cadillac and more than like the Vette.. would you own one of those Euro machines ? Or something keeping you away from the Euros?
I love the Euro machines (I did own an E36 M3). I strongly considered the M5 CS, and adore the AMG GT63 S. For me, it came down to performance value for money. The Blackwing was cheaper, and was slightly more engaging to drive. If I can afford it one day, I'll buy a 911 GT3. I've just made decisions based on the current crop of cars and what my budget matches.
At age 69, love the car but oh boy, still at 6'1", hard time getting in and out and feel very claustrophobic in it. Give me that big old 67 coupe, feel like Eddie Albert in Green acres sitcom driving that big tractor and large steering wheel. Convertible is the better looking version, imo.
I just personally don't understand why someone would get the convertible over the coupe. You can take the roof off the coupe too, just takes 30 seconds of work. The convertible costs more and hides the beautiful engine. So why pay to hide the engine when you can get the same experience without paying more and still seeing the engine?
The Z06 in reality, knocked ALL of the predecessors off the Corvette list for almost super-car status. In am just remembering the guy who paid $100,00 over list for the C8!
There is something about your camera angle in all these videos where it always looks like you are going downhill. This car is insane but I was so confused how u were speeding in such a steep decline but i realized it was the way the camera just pointed more heavily downward than usual maybe?
The Turbo S is so so fast, but lacks soul (to me). The GT3 is one of my all-time favorite cars, and if we were talking about the coupe version of this Z06, is would be an extremely difficult decision - one over the other. My love of the GT3's manual would contrast with my infatuation with the Z06's Flat-plane V8. Don't make me choose!
@@magistrate7009 E-Ray makes many parts of the trim and grilles body color rather than black, but theres a package that makes it black again + no Z07 package available. Otherwise i dont see how each looks better than the other lol they are the same
You can use in varied conditions for being eAWD, 0-60 in 2.5!!! and it still has the look's of the Z06. the E-RAY is quite interesting, but i must say the LT6 is a refreshing experience
@@Luke-cb3ly2.5 compared to 2.6 in the Z06 in perfect conditions, so there’s not much spacing between the two on paper. On the other talking points, I agree; the E-Ray is set up to naturally be the more street friendly car with its AWD, hybrid assistance, still having the LT2, and being available in the widest all season tires ever produced. Me though, give me the visceral and wild experience of that race engine in the Z06 any day.
I love this car but i'd probably buy the Caddy CTS-V. Basically the Corvette's more luxurious sibling. So what if its slightly slower, i'd still dust 99% of cars at the stop light.

As noted below, I think previous generation (front engine) vettes were built in the muscle car vein, but the move to mid-engine changes the Corvette pedigree to sports car
When you get to the competitor section, it is almost always slightly arbitrary and incongruent... 911 GT3,GTS? The cheaper than 720 Huracan? NSX Type S? Maserati MC20?
This is the convertible version of the Z06, so I chose convertible competitors. Not seeing how that's incongruent. If I were reviewing the coupe (which I have), I'd mention the coupe alternatives (which I did).
Good video. FWIW, the excessive gesturing was distracting during the casual drive portion, I always cringe when someone takes both hands off the steering wheel while gesturing and driving.
Sorry that was distracting. I talk with my hands 🤷♂️ When it comes to driving, I never take both hands off at a time when it would be dangerous to do so - and never for more than a second.
