This is the best version of Flows IMHO. The strap is much better than previous ones and the bottom pa works really well. But the best thing is you can get them in baby blue that really matches the K2 Passport! :)

Appreciate the review. I just got back from 80 days in Austria on brand new genesis step ons and photons and the toe boxes on both booth sheared apart, the gas pedals liked to fall off (tied on to avoid), both hammocks fell off, the rear toe clip failed (would disengage every run after a few turns. Basically lots of plastic held together by not much. But they were great for the first few weeks. So looking at giving flow a try.

My girlfriend is an upper beginner snowboarder but has that instep pressure pain issue that's causing her to hold back. I was looking at the fusion strap Flows for her solely because of an assumption they'd be better for that so I appreciate that nugget in this review.

This is why I come here. You don't like flows personally, but you can totally remove that from your review. Unbiased knowledgable reviewers are a needle in a haystack these days.

Especially here in Finland slopes are really short. You are all the time getting back up and playing with the bindings. I have K2 Cinch CX bindings and I really like the convenience. I have been looking for alternatives because my bindings are quite old and just broke one of my cables.

Very good point about forgetting the high back is down while skating, I've been riding a pretty old pair of flows and I forgot it was down while boarding the chairlifts and it got caught on the gate and I almost became a Jerry who couldn't board a lift
@Kah0ona

this year for I had normal bindings again, after a few years on flows (and I prefer normal ones now, actually), and I kept looking at my bindings to see if the high back was down because of the gates, the first day. Such a relief that on normal bindings I don't have to do that :-D

Been riding flow alphas for 5 years, just got NX2's. I like flow and its a lot because I ride with skiers. The other guy with a board also uses flow. Their lineup confuses the shit out of me though.

No kidding... it took me two weeks to figure out which one was right for me... then they add the strap mix up to the chaos!

I had the entry level flows for the last few seasons. Not impressed really, but still decided to upgrade to the NX2 hybrids. Feel pretty good, I bought the right size, but the toe strap cranked all the way down. Maybe easier in deep pow to get in and out of. Always needs little adjustments as snow gets in them. Not set it and forget it by any means for me. High back lean screw needs some locktite or it moves all over the place. Other than that they are pretty ok.
@mountainlife2411
@mountainlife2411 Год назад
Toe strap always moves down, and has to be lifted up pretty much every time as well. In hindsight I would probably go with the fusion strap. This is my last pair of flows though, going back to normal bindings when I have the money.

Learned to ride on Flows. But went about 15 years on Burton bindings.... now too old to bend down so much, and want to go back to flows.

How did your thraxis boots fit in these? They seemed a bit bulky when I used my thraxis, which made it tight to lift the highback up.

Little snug the first two times I used it, after that I got it dialed.

What's the deal with Northwave/Drake bindings? It seems hard to find information about them.

They dropped off hard in North America and have their bike guys trying to move product. Evidently I'm getting some at some point.

I own a pair of fuse carbon and tried nx2 carbon this year. Fuse carbon is stiff and not alot of lateral play but the nx2 carbon aluminum base plate makes it stiffer and no lateral play. If you can demo them go for it. If you never tried very stiff binding or flow binding theres an adaptation period meaning youll most likely over tighten them at 1st so ull have problems going in. If so check kevins flow adjustment guide on angrys channel.
@rollingedges9469

@@francoissigouin2529 Ive been on flow nx2 gt hybrid's for over 5 seasons now. Kinda glad they moved away from the aluminum highback, I had around 80days on mine and they cracked and broke in half on colder day's. Maybe the fiber/carbon/composite shit will last longer.

Got these, can’t figure out how to get them to work without tightening and loosening the ratchets, perhaps I need to kick in harder but this binding seems like no advantage over standard strapped bindings

I ride these bindings. And I realy like them. When I bought the bindings the seller explaind me how to use them right. Rachet the upper strap tight, but dont do that with the lower part of the strap, If you can put your pink between your boot and the lower part of the boot then its good.

I have the NX2 TM from 2022 and I must say I'm disappointed. First of they are much better than old school flows (that I used in like 2004) from a usability point of view. I have the hybrid straps version and I love the way they just hug your boot. The forward lean adjustment is a joke, as it is very loose and the more you open and close it the more it will come loose (so no forward lean). Now I don't trust it anymore and have to check it like 4 times a day. I feel the hybrid straps are just a fail in general, maybe should have gone for the standard one (as shown in this video). The angle of the toe straps doesn't sit right and you have to adjust it by hand when stepping in every other time you step in. Opening the high back to step out will often rub on the heel of my boot and there are already signs of wear on it. I've seen videos about that last year but discarded them as wrong set up but I just can't figure out how to avoid it. I use a size XL with K2 maysis in a size 13. So I use it like a normal 2 strap binding anyways now. And then there is a screw on the upper strap adjustment that keeps on coming loose on the piste. Happened to me last year and happened to me again this year. It's fucking annoying. Maybe I could loctite it but in the Flow installation guide there was no mention of it and with all things considered I'm pretty fed up now anyways. The padding and rubber under the baseplate is pretty fucking dope imo, especially since I feel the rubber 'protects' your board against the binding, but maybe that's not necessary on normal bindings (haven't had one since 2002 or so...).

I ordered nx2 tm hybrid a couple days ago, hasn’t shipped yet. Wish I saw this before ngl, my expectations have changed. No reviewer goes into detail like this so thank you!
@Dan_Divebomb
@Dan_Divebomb Год назад
@@buildingwithkev8665 you could still send em back though within two weeks. Problem is the issues I am having only reveal when you use them on the mountain. However, I think it really comes down to the user. Maybe if I had a size 11 I wouldn't have the issues. Maybe if I had the straps shown on this review I'd also have less issues. Many people love the bindings. The highback lean angle adjustment is objectively shit though and I wish they just learnt and added a locking mechanism.

I had old flows from 2000s that I loved until they broke after about 15 years of use. I bought a newer set of nx2s in 2019 but hated them for all the reasons you describe here. I switched to step-ons for 2020. I like them but am definitely curious to see how people like supermatic long term and if they come out with a stiffer binding

Ive had similar issues with the highback adjustment, was thinking of trying loctite
