I like the fact that mazda gives you a choice of no turbo and no cvt,trans in all there cars thank you mazda😊

Just bought the CX5 2024 Turbo Premium. Car is great,however the mpg is not that particularly good and the vehicle could use a little larger fuel tank... Other than these two minor issues really do not have any complaints with the Cx 5.

Driving a 2021 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring. All the bells and whistles are included in the 21 versus the 24. Expect to drive this one for another 5 years then hopefully the EV fiasco well be settled. (Good battery, charging stations, etc.) Doubt if I will ever buy one but a hybrid such as a Mazda with a rotary charging engine appears more appropriate.

Got my 2023 silver top spec turbo last year. It’s a great car in every way in my opinion. Rear cargo space is ok especially considering it can accomodate a full size alloy spare wheel underneath. Started on high octane premium today, it’s now faster than a Ferrari 😎

I prefer the smaller, sleeker CX-30 myself & bought that instead in early 2022. Plus, I didn't really want stop/start (iStop) or cylinder-deactivation technology in any vehicle that I purchase, since it can't be fully deactivated 24/7 in settings. I've been happy with my 2022 CX-30 for almost 2-years now, with no issues, problems or defects uncovered thus far. If you need the backseat area for regularly hauling people then you might not like the CX-30 or other similar vehicles in its particular size segment. That's about the only potential drawback IMO (which doesn't affect me personally).

Cylinder deactivation is active in all non turbo (naturally aspirated) engines of all mazdas. There is no switch to turn it off. It works seamlessly when on the highway and is designed to help with fuel economy by shutting down 2 cylinders. You can see how it works if you go into information and fuel economy in the infotainment system menu. There's a video on youtube on how it works if you look it up. As for iStop, it's on all of the Turbo engines. There is a switch to turn it off, but each time you start the vehicle you have to turn it off as it was designed also to help with fuel economy (when left on) by depressing the brake pedal a bit more than normal, it does have a caveat, if you use the A/C it does not engage.

@@gailenrique2804I'm glad that the 2022 CX-30 didn't have cylinder-deactivation, as it was removed for that year due to issues Mazda had with it on various earlier year model vehicles. Mazda re-introduced it to the CX-30 with the 2023 model year on the NA engine vehicles & some people report on the forums that they don't like the transition sensation when it engages on & off on their particular vehicles.. iStop also isn't on the CX-30 here in the USA as of yet that I know, but the CX-5 & CX-50 has both it & cylinder-deactivation. Glad that I purchased my CX-30 Carbon Edition in early 2022, as it seems to be the sweet-spot model-year to buy one IMO. 👍 Whatever tiny amount is save if fuel (so Mazda can help meet regulatory fuel standards) isn't worth adding two new major points of complexity & problems to your engine (IMO).

We have a 2022 Snowflake Pearl CX-5 Signature, our 2nd CX-5 and we just love it! Imo it’s a better SUV than anything in its class including Mazda’s own CX-50

Go with the regular, less to maintain more reliable, better gas mileage, 32 winter, 34 summer highway driving

You are probably referring to the Infotainment system. Agree with you. How can this car not have an off button for the radio/audio? Weird.

@@scottbronson7902 And why, if you want a genuine Mazda bike hitch installed, does your bumper need to be (irreversibly) cut? An aftermarket hitch (available from the dealer or Amazon) requires no bumper cutting. Neither Mazda nor the dealer let me know about this. The service technician informed me.

Just bought a 24 S prefered at for 31 at 0% 60mos. Love it so far this month. Love the driving but c’mon man make it a touch screen. Accidentally doing 90mph and I swear I was going 40. Yikes

You can add touch screen through the connectivity settings. I just changed it on my new 24’ Carbon Edition.

Transmission is far from ordinary ...got the rest right but missed the target on the trans.....little more research.

They had problems when they were Allied with Ford, and used the outsourced Japco transmission. The one they use now is a Mazda design, and has been trouble free. The CVT transmission in the Honda was enough to convince me to look to Mazda.

@Highmiles the cvt in Honda is better than the one Nissan uses in ALL their vehicles. Now unless Honda uses the same Jatco crap Nissan uses, rumor has it Honda developed their own cvt transmission.

Its a standard car with standard parts. Not very fast but loud. Info system is fine aslong as it doesnt break. Expect to replace the brake pads and rotors at 25k miles.

Mazda losing impossibly fast on price value I owned 2022 Mazda 3 first owner bought on November 8 2022 odometer 19 000 miles dealership in Missouri have same trim MSRP $25,800 they give me estimate for trade it in $17,000 for 13 months losing impossibly $8800

Lost all loyalty to Toyota after 20 years when a dealer tried to sell me a Corolla Cross at nearly $40k OTD. Mazda dealer was happy to negotiate, so bought a CX-5 Preferred last month. Absolutely love it.
