I've got to say that MK1 is a lovely little thing , perfect amount of power , tastefully modded 👌

This car broke my heart when I was 17 . Spotted it for sale told the seller I go and get the cash 700 pounds in 1997. The bastard sold it when I came back with the cash. Lol. Never got the mark one. But had every model since. Great little car lads entertaining as always lads.👍

Got the same feeling from my old corsa b with 240bhp calibra turbo motor in, so much fun and raw.

Old school turbo cars are always fun especially with torque steer. Fighting the steering just to keep it in a straight line makes it exciting

Love the build! Saw it first on Gas gang and came to find your page. I have an 87 16v Scirocco I have wanted to turn into a sleeper, very much the way you did with the GTI. I would love to know the full breakdown of which engine and transmission you mated up. A 270bhp Scirocco would hurt the feelings of many muscle cars👍 Thanks for the great content.

The mk1 golf with a 1.8t dropped in it, is literally my dream car. Just got rid of my Seat Leon mk1 cupra R which i'm starting too regret now.. MK1 GOLF is next on the list!

A buddy of mine just finished my '04 awp swap in my 84 gti. My 04 was making around 270hp like the one in the video. It is such a blast to drive, this video brought a smile to my face. I've only had it back for 5 days

In South Africa we kept making the mk1 up until 2009. Each few years being slightly modernized inside and out and the engine. It is called the citigolf. One of the last models was a limited special edition called the citi R line. 1.8 8v fuel injected with 272 cam and 421 exhaust system. 15 inch alloys.

Love this. I had a mk2 3 door big bumper gti with the G60 brakes, limited slip diff and a TSR 2 litre 8 valve. It was pure smiles around town and country roads, it was a little weapon of a car.

My mates got a white 1 of them that he takes to shows he's is putting out 275bhp but he's put a diff, some sticky tyres on it an engine top support bar & a support bar in the boot & that takes alot of that mad steering out when you floor it other than that he's is exactly the same as yours on the inside.

4x4 conversion coming along? Don't bother with rallye conversion use TT but it will help if you can source rallye tunnel though very doable without.. Better with AGU head, way better flow.
