I got reply from biggest motivational speaker of our time, if not ever, WOW. I changed my life from total chaos and confusion to a confident, focused and planned one. I didn't have clue about my life, sadly I am 40 years old, until I started watching your videos. I messed up my career, finance etc. Wish I heard about you a lot earlier!

I just left a job because my boss was terrible. Instead of talking with me about my job, as a salaried employee, he was only concerned about my hours, and lunch break. He didn't talk to me about my work, however, gave me a bad review for items that I did not even do. I left the company, and am now very happy. Thank you for your video.

This is absolutely true. I am a disgruntled employee. I have never held a leadership position, but I have had a tremendous career observing. When my wife became a supervisor in a coffee shop, she felt insecure about leading her team. She is a super hard worker. This is a plus as a worker, but it can be a negative for leaders. Super hard workers tend to do all the work and leave the team behind. (And let the other workers know about it.) If you are alone, you are not leading anyone. I told her to be clear about the mission and show she believes in it. I told her to appreciate her people openly, never put them down. And rather than tell them they did something wrong, show them how it can be done differently next time. Always encourage. When her team starts acting as if their job is not important, she points out that though their customers are movers and shakers, it is the experience they receive at the shop that sets the tone of the world. (Ever wonder why your Doctor is not really listening. Or utility workers block streets longer than necessary.) She looks great, feels great and the atmosphere of the shop, the customers and her people brighten while she is there. Production shoots up. As her shift ends and certain other supervisors arrive, I swear the lights dim, the air is sucked out of the room and some people start looking sick. Who can work without a mission, feeling unessential and unappreciated?

What a valuable piece of advice for any leader! I have made these mistakes as a leader but never again. Truly, no true benefit can come from criticizing anyone. We make these mistakes by thinking it will make a difference but it only affects the employees self esteem. With the help of Brian, I am developing positive leadership skills and it feels great! Brian, You are simply the best and I love and appreciate you immensely because you have taught me so much and I am still learning from you. Thank you sir!

Thank you, Sir. I am currently replacing my boss temporarily, meaning I run an entire department, parallely I am building up a new department from the scatch and I am the responsible administrative counterpart for an IT project. I can rely on a great team that was already instilled by the good exapmple of my boss and I try to model my leadership accordingly. Though overwhealming the task (I am rather new in a fast growing company) I took a positive approach, a result of your teachings. Things start working out. Thanks to you!

Wonderful advices to be a good leader. I had a boss that would complain and condemn about others, as a result, his behaviour would reflect our work performances negatively and create an insecure environment. Also, he would rarely appreciate worker's accomplishments and for this reason, employees performance would decrease.

It's better to leave there and look for a better place to work. For example, one time our boss said to one of my college " you are getting older, I think that's why you are making this mistake" and my college was very offended, as she was about 45 years old. She never stopped complaining about our boss to us.

thats where the negativitt start to rise in employees mind. Your boss should make his/her employees more comfortable and relax, if he couldnt than the effectiveness of employees will decrease and they will think to change their job

I have run into plenty of negative leaders. 2 minutes into a meeting they go down that negative road. I look around and everyone has just tuned them out. Plus everyone's mind is now totally closed to any of the persons future solutions. I prefer to approach from a facts and solutions point of view. Problem solving is my best skill. :) Another great video, thanks!

most of the learders i have worked for and i am 57 years old are more likely to press you as a lemon, pay you the least they can always complaining about the cost....the charges.....the taxes.....asking you to do more and more without being even conscious of the work you do and if they are conscious they don t care. They alwayx find people who sell themselves for nothing....so they just don t care; saying that you earn the work , the job you deserve if you are an employee is NOT always the case and even most of the time the contrary . Than k you for this video , a lot of so called leaders have no talent for relating properly to their employee they should let other people with that very special skill do it....But once again they "tell" them the way to act and they do because they n eed the job......So creating our own business is may be one of the great solution to solve this problem. And also thank you to all the great leaders who accept to share as You mr tracy the real human values............look for more
@arun_4871
@arun_4871 7 лет назад
M'y fun, rightly said sir. I also had similar situation during my previous job. He will press us like a lemon. He was hardly bothered about his staffs. We used to do overtime daily without getting any extra payment for that. Even during the travel for office, if we spend some penny more then he asks why this and that. If we take half day due to some serious reason, he would cut down that half day money. He would not pay extra for giving them our extra time but will cut down if we spend less time. And still he would cry that you don't do this properly, that properly and all.

Brilliant advice toxic leadership within my sector (engineering) is a moral killer. I’ve had my fair share of toxic leaders and the most attractive personality of a manager is approachability. If you can talk to your boss and give constructive feedback on their level without feeling as though u are stepping on their toes it promotes a hugely positive working environment.

In my professional life I had seen bosses with little leadership qualities- they criticize for mistakes you have not done, look for you to be present at right time and leave at the end of the hour- hardly bothering or motivating you to do great works and on slightest pretext would condemn you so much to bring your moral and self esteem to the lowest level. I never became a leader in my sphere imitating any of these stupid traits

What if you rely on others in your company to do tasks to close your deals and they are not doing the task at all or in a timely manner and not returning calls or emails in this regard? And despite emailing or calling management, nothing is being done? I hate to job hop, but would it be time to do so? Does this make me a complainer? How can I address things repeatedly to get a posititve change but not let my frustration be "overapparant"?
@NickYourHomeLoanFriendKrehnke

Zlipster Royals only problem is I personally cannot hire for those positions and it corp management isn't in a hurry to do anything despite my repeated requests. i lost 34k in commissions in December because of it. So I'm at a different company now.

I was just about to recommend switching companies but I see you already did. Some times the incompetence of management gets mimicked by employees. And since the managers are good at not handling the problem, the cycle continues until they lose their best clients. Then they scramble to find solutions (read blame game) on their way to chapter eleven.
