I did this video a long time ago in the past and it really wasn't the best and had very little examples of the 5 species. What hamster species are your favourite?🐹 (✨Fun fact Hamster's actually are not called breeds they are called species)

I love Chinese hamsters. For some reason they are not very popular. I have one right now named Kiwi. I have had three in my life, and they are such good tempered hamsters. When I was little I had two names Panda and Soy Sause ... lol.

I had a Chinese hamster and he lived for 4 years! He was the sweetest and I trained him to walk into his cage from my shoulder. Also he never bit me throughout the 4 years that I had him

I had a black Syrian hamster and he lived for more than 2 years. I had him in a critter trail for around 9 months and then realized it was really bad for him! I got him a 830 sq rat cage with three levels! He lived a happy life and passed around a year ago. He was super sweet! I’m looking to adopting a winter white and your channel has helped me! This is a useful video!!! :D I know a lot of people don't stop to think about the different species before choosing a hamster. Some people end up bringing home a baby robo as their first hamster, and they don't realise that it's not going to grow very big and it's always going to be quite fast. When someone isn't sure I always say to them to perhaps try a syrian first (preferably a male as males seem to be more lazy and laid back. I know my female never had a rest, she was always doing something - usually chewing up my books :( ). I've owned 6 hybrid dwarf hamsters sold to me as either a russian dwarf or winter white (5 males, 1 female), 1 female chinese, 1 female robo and 1 female syrian. Out of these, a male hybrid is my favourite to own. They have all had a good personality, have been easy to tame and handle, and also are the best behaved for health checks and treatments. I would really love a pure winter white but they are difficult to get and I would probably have to go on a waiting list and travel quite far.. I've had some health problems with some of the hybrids over the years, but even when you get a pure one or another species you're still not guaranteed to have no health problems. My first lived the longest and I'm hoping the male I have now lives a long life too (and my female!)

Today I Adopted a Winter White Hamster Today and I Love Her!

Ive owned dwarf hamsters for 7 years now and for the first time had a hybrid hamster, she was a mix of the winter white and the campbell. Strangely, she changed her coat not during winter but summer. (Yes i have pictures if anything) . When i first purchased her in summer 2021, she was white with black spots on her underbelly near her paws and with ginger spots above her eyes. Then, about a month after I got her, she changed her coat to a racoon looking one, she got darker and quite literally looked like a raccoon, she had dark brown spots behind her ears and her ears were black and she had a dark brown pattern on her eyes (like a raccoons), it was kinda weird as i never seen a hamster change coats not in winter or due to old age so.. But after about 2 months of her fur patterns constantly changing she just got the ordinary look of a typical campbell hamster, just brown with a darker stripe and a white underbelly. I lost her may 18 this year, i am saddened, but, will be getting a new hamster thats a robo since ive never owned these before.

When I was younger I had about 5 Russian dwarves at various times. I've found them to be one of the more aggressive species. Of course, it comes down to the hamster themselves because they are alive and have their own personalities, but I have had several who would bite/attack for no reason. I would recommend looking a different species if you want something to play with or as a pet for a child.

It’s such a shame that Chinese hamsters aren’t as common!! I just got my first Chinese ham around seven months ago, and she’s such a sweet girl! She’s unlike any other hamster I’ve ever had. She loves to climb, and it’s a lot of fun to watch her climb around on the driftwood in her cage.

My Chinese dwarf's name is twix(hes chubby k) and all of them are so sweet and loving!

I’ve had my robo for about 3-4 weeks. Her name is Minnie and she is adorable! The only problem is that she is pretty fast, and I knew that when I got her. She was just so cute, so I decided to take her. I probably won’t be able to tame her, but she atleast lets me pet her. I do recommend robos but only if u can handle their speed, but they are so cute!

I bought a Syrian for my sister and they really make good pets. Then I also bought her another pair of hamsters and I know it was something different. I've googled hamster types but it confuses me. After watching this video I could confirm now that those are campbells. (Months ago I started watching your vids to teach my sister how to handle them properly so keep it up) :)

so i was actually looking on the petco website (i know you recommend looking for a hamster not in a pet store but i was just looking) and one of them was listen as a "fancy bear hamster" since Syrians are most often called "teddy bear hamsters" do you think it might be a short haired syrian?

Sooo i bought my hammy at the pet store, she was labeled as a robo hamster, and having her, she’s got big, she’s albino, and she’s actually pretty tame, she trusts me and loooves her mealworms. But seeing how small the robo hamster are in this video, I feel like the store labeled her wrong, I feel like I got an albino winter or an albino Cambell. I’m not sure I have to look at the paperwork

Today is October 15 and I need it to be November 8 because that's when I get my first ever and dwarf hamster I am hearing from you before I get one I really like your videos btw and I want my hamster to have a great life what worry's me the most is the cage size cause it at least has to be 450sq inches and idk if I'm gonna be able to get that cage and I think in one of your videos it says that it also affects there behavior and I don't want mine to bite I love your videos (idk if I said that twice) I like the taming ones and if they are not interested to bite on a wooden toy you can but peanut butter than take it off and it will leave the scent I really want my hamster so I want it to be November 8 🙏❤

My first hamster was a Roborovski and he was so sweet! My hamster now is a golden Syrian.

When I was around 10-11 I had two male chinese hamsters. We were told male ones could live together and mine were both fine with each other. I never saw them fight and never saw any signs that they'd fought either. Neither of them ever had any marks on them at all and I made sure I saw them every day. They both lived to be around three years old and slept in the same house. I'm not saying you're wrong because you're not, I just find it weird that both of mine were fine in the three years I had them. If anyones reading this then don't do what I did because it's definitely not worth the risk, I might've just gotten lucky. It just goes to show how much pet shops misinform their customers. At the time, I recall a lot of websites telling me that males could be kept together too. It's good to see how much public knowledge on hamster care has improved over the years, (although it still has a LONG way to go, pet shops are awful). I'm planning on getting a syrian hamster soon and your videos have been a big help. I haven't had a hamster in about 6 years now, but I thought I knew how to care for them as I've had 4 in total, my two chinese, one black Campbells dwarf and a syrian, but there was so much I didn't know. Just ordered a big cage and I'm on the lookout for breeders/one to adopt. Sidenote: Chinese hamsters are such an underrated species of hamster. My two, Jinx and Tex, were the sweetest hamsters I've ever had. They were so gentle and calm compared to my others. I can't recall them ever biting me and they were so easy to hold. My brother had his own chinese hamster (this one was kept alone) and he was very sweet too. (Posted this again because there was more I wanted to add aha)
