This video is great in showing how devastating the 7 hour war was, however, it isn’t all that accurate. First of all, the first phase of the war consisted of the combine orbitally bombarding earth, as mentioned in some newspapers in half life alyx. Also, I doubt that the combine won due to sheer numbers. In those same HLA newspapers, it’s mentioned that shortly after the orbital bombardment, more specialized and relatively small (at least for the combine) forces were deployed to do as much damage to human forces while maintaining minimal casualties. Striders, gunships and dropships would be no match for fighter jets and heavily armed human attack helicopters and tanks. What I believe is that the more specialized units deployed on earth were combine fighter jet equivalents and larger and more heavily armed gunships and striders, as well as possibly mountainous units and hunters deployed to areas of high elevation like the alps or Himalayas. The equivalent of ground soldiers would probably be possibly humanoid alien synth units deployed to be as durable and devastating as they can be to human forces. From the HLA newspapers, it is hinted that the remaining xenian forces on earth clashed with the combine, leading to a 3 front war that led to a combine victory. But that’s just my interpretation.

I feel like in real life most countries wouldn't have surrendered and the war would've probably gotten drag on way longer until either A our recourses are depleted or B every human had gone extinct or C society collapsed during the invasion

The end is unrealistic. Ravenholm was founded and created 13 years after the combine raided and captured earth as a refugee shelter.
