Hey man, Its the ex-owner of the S15! I recently saw your other video today, and i am so thankful you found the location and recovered her. I can confirm that I was scammed when I tried to get my car shipped out. I no longer have the papers to the car, I believe they are still in the car. Another thing I wanted to say: I sense a strong connection with you and the S15, I can tell you are in love with the car, and it could provide great content for your channel in the future. So that’s exactly why I gave it to you. I knew you would be happier with it than I could. It would hurt to have to go and repair my own car that was trashed, torn apart, all the hard work gone, when someone, that someone is you, can rebuild it without anger at the sight of your hard work destroyed. I have bought a new car, my S13, which i have already started a build on. I’m so glad you managed to get it running again and I’m so grateful you saved it from its grave. Just hearing the turbo whistle again made me tear up. Thank you. Sincerely, Seth. 8:20 I can confirm these are stock cams, I had bought some to fit in but I never got to it 😬
I think the shop owner stole the cams to sell off and replaced them with whatever he had lying around, that's why the cams were in such worse condition compared to everything else.
@@razev1985 Outside air cannot get into the cam gallery, that is totally separate from the cylinders, unless your valve guides and seals are non existent. It’s possible that sea air got into the cam cover if the oil filler cap was left off, but other steel parts in there would then corrode. I agree with the comment that cams were stolen, those cams probably already had rust on before they went in the engine. I live by the sea, if your motor stays buttoned up, it won’t rust that way.
Man, this is awesome. That put a smile on my face that the car came to life. Congrats, Sam!!!! I had no doubts that you were able to bring it back to life
This is trully an amazing thing, seeing an old car nand being able to turn it on, but that was fast... 😂 Grats sam. I loved it, you inspire me to work on cars as well, and continue to chase my dreams. Thank you from the bottom of my heart❤️
what an absolutely beautiful project car you managed to save. the S15 is definitely one of my favorite JDM cars. cant wait to see what happens with this thing in your care, TAKE GOOD CARE OF IT!
Dude you don't even know how lucky you are! That style is 15 is my dream car and it has been since I was a little kid. I am so in love with this car I hope one day I can go to Japan and find something like this. That would be amazing
@@crojackbojangles s15 is illegal to drive in the united states rn due to the 25 year import rule which means the car is banned for 25 years, in 2024 that ban will be lifted because the 25 years have passed. Right now you can only use the car for professional racing etc. it is not street legal
congratulations! been watching each oki clip to see the progress and i'm happy to see it at this state! i can't imagine how you were and are feeling right now
The rocker arms really are a weak point for the engines. Like sam said the VVL head is one option but mazworx has a solution that has been working great for me for years. Each rocker has one guide, basically the mazworx kit machines the rockers to fit dual guides.
Dude. I’m so freakin happy for you, to have a find like this and then to have the opportunity to just throw a little elbow grease and bring it back to life is surreal. Congrats brother, I’m happy for you and I hope you bring back the rocket bunny fingers crossed 🤞🏽 haha
a couple weeks ago me and my buddy picked up a supercharged 3g eclipse, we’re told the motor was not running and it needed a fuel pump… all it needed was a new owner and that car started right up, it’s been sitting since 2012 and i drove it for 2 hours on the highway and all was smooth, it’s got easily 4k$ of work done to it and picked it up for 1,100$
THIS VIDEO WAS AWESOME!!!! This is why Japan is the holy grail when it comes to automotive, you can just find a relic such as this S15 and be the happiest guy in the world! Awesome work Sam!!! Much love from NY
I love everything about this video! I love the feeling of getting an old car fired up again, and finding all the parts that were put into it, I had that happen with a bunch of Mark two glis I had
So cool to see that thing come back to life and moving, great work Sam. My cousin had a late 90's Subaru Impreza that he parked out back of his dads house for I think two years, can't remember but I helped him get that thing going. All it needed was a battery and some weasel piss and it fired right up and drove like he never left it.
Awesome that you got it running that easy sammit can't wait to see what plans you have for this aswell as the other car projects you currently have underway 😀 👍
You should name it 天命 ten mei meaning destined by heaven (destiny). You saved an legend car from the harsh weathering of Okinawa and now it gets to fulfill it's destiny with all of us to enjoy. Absolutely amazing story Dr. Sammit , the SR drift doctor. Congratulations to you and your team! 🎉💕👏🏼👏🏼
How about a it's been sitting so long counter... Said first vid it was sitting maybe 2 years I'm sure rich people leave their cars undriven for much longer periods of time
For a young man can not fault you. Well done mate. You surprised me being so young. Start to finish. You know what your doing. Take care mate. Congrats
Been waiting for this video bet this car used to look so good cause it still looks so great even without the rocket bunny kit it’s honestly a shame what’s happened to it I’d love to see it complete again
That would be Por-15 the stuff works miracles just don't get it on you it's some nasty stuff I did a jeep undercarriage with it and got a few drops in my hair and on my scalp thought for sure it was there to stay
I'm overwhelmed by excitement Sam! I was thinking like you were this is to good to be true pinch me please! And she is such a beaut too! I can't wait to see how you give her your total makeover. Yes she is a steal. Glad you won't have to do to much work to get her to the vision you have for her. One awesome whip you acquired Sam. Str8 💯👍🏼
Call him...either blue boi..!! Or bluey!!! Great content Sam..!!! Keep it up..!! Happy that Blue Boi..!! Is up and running and moving too..!!! Yeeeaaahhh..!!!!!
hoooo! I never doubted you Man! I know you can fix it easy! 🔥🔥🔥 maaan another addition to the collection! I felt so envious you even got the Z at the auction for a very cheap price 🥺🥺
You could really tell this car was fighting to be brought back alive and i bet this car is happy you brought it back to life and I bet you this car will give you less hardships then others and great memories just by telling that she wanted to be brought back congrats Sammyyy
I’m so stoked for this car! I’m really digging the blue, looks good. I know you’re gon probly change it, but I think it looks good, esp with the purple.
Sam.... There is NO WAY!!!!! LOL, I'm surprised too that it cranked up so easily. Sounds great, it washed up good too from a quick simple spray down 👍👍💯
Wooow i'm happy for you man what a car 😉i like the sound of the engine with the turbo and the flames out of the exaust and the wheels are nice on that car keep that 😉 you saved a legend
This is 1 reason why I'll take jdm cars over any other and why they'll remain my dream to own one. This thing was sitting in the bushes for years and you just washed it off and did some small tweaking and it's literally spitting flames as if it wasn't abandoned. Crazy
Good luck on the s15 didn’t think it would go gongratulations just shows not all abandoned cars can be of youse and appreciated by someone good luck Sam 👌🏻
Thats bloody awesome mate. Can't believe it's running already. I'm no means an sr20 guy, or a jdm owner at all (simpleton commodore owner here) but damn, she sounds healthy...rip power steering pulley/pump? Well could of been worse considering the common theme of "missing" parts. What a shame you gotta get another s15 now...this one is to good haha
