I host a /tg/ downstream. Used to have felinids enabled on the server. Weird people join and start dating each other in-game. They use the felinid race to identify each other in-game as an "ally" and form meta-gangs. It becomes disruptive - HoS is too busy kissing his medbay catgirl-friend to stop antags. If one of the felinids are your target, you're going to have mow down three of their bodyguard meta-friends just to try and kill your target. These players called me a racist for not liking the meta-gangs and the borderline ERP. Banned those players and disabled the felinid race. Haven't had a similar issue again.

I made my BYOND account back in May 2014. Being born in late 2004, I was NINE years old at the time. I was literally in elementary school, robusting the lights out of fellow crewmembers in Hispanistation, a spanish-language Paradise code server. This video (the best SS13 video I have ever seen, hands down) makes me feel a lot of stuff, man. On one hand, seeing how many weird people host and/or administrate servers, I'm starting to feel a bit lucky that literally nothing bad happened to me. On the other hand, man, a lot of stuff changed. I kind of not notice because I only play on /vg/ at this point, which is like, primitivist SS13 at this stage.
It's clear that most people in charge should not be in charge. And most people who should be in charge, have to be forced to take charge. I myself became a Discord admin of 6 years by accident after challenging the previous one. I tried to quit but the very day I did, the place literally got so bad one of the users was hospitalised in real life by the corrupt admin I had ousted. Because I wasn't there to stop him again. Discord is fucking wild. But my experiences can make me appreciate anyone else taking down power-mad lunatics. I've met far too many, and the worst users really always are the mods and admins. You're doing really good work. I hope every one of these guys resigns out of shame after seeing this video. However... Twitter has made it super clear that fake pedo allegations are just how people insult each other these days. It's damn hard to take any allegation seriously, especially when you're inferring it from things other people are doing or saying. I'd try and be far more careful with never saying it, even as a joke, unless you MEAN it. I'm tired of hearing about entirely innocent people trying to commit un-life because their friends saw the Twitter insult and couldn't understand that there was no evidence, and now this person has lost every friend they had. It's the shittest hot new trend. People vile enough to lie about it, and people stupid enough to believe it instantly. You need to accomidate for that, for the lack of braincells that others have. So please don't jokingly call anyone a pedo. Exposing predators is heroic. Kinkshaming is immature. It shouldn't be hard to avoid mixing them up. But this video oozes with both, like you wanted to expose people but also wanted to just have a laugh at the same time. This isn't smart. Every time you group a predator with a bunch of average furries you make the predator come off as just quirky and gross instead of a danger. Do not use predators as a joke. Do not blur them with jokes. Do not use them as jokes. Keep the serious and funny seperate when dealing with something this harmful. I'm at the end of this video and I still can't tell if this was purely meant to be comedic or an actual warning. It's quite the massive mistake in an otherwise decent video. I liked that twist at the end.
Cancel culture is insidious and its likeness is of the Salem Witch Trials. Any drama and allegation you see in the SS13 community has a story behind it, and without due process, it's likely just a bunch of people not liking someone and sending them out. Often by way of persona non grata. It's difficult to do people right when their character is already assassinated in just a few hours, often because people twist the words of the accused or deny good faith, either out of self-righteousness or emotional reaction. It's to be expected that sometimes you can't handle a large group of people and not be able to provide your own evidence on the contrary or make a defense, especially situationally and in the moment - Nobody got time to defend themselves over the phone at work! Not everyone has the time or resources to take 50 screenshots or recordings of everything they do to defend themselves against a party that is both scheming and manipulative, and inclined to screw you over on lies, lies with some truth as a lie through omission. And by not being made to do their due process, it allows this kind of lie to be most effective.
Although this feels like a silly rant because I didn't bring up the direct case I am talking about, this does happen in communities of all sizes, even as small as friend groups. I would love to say it's as easy as an explanation to teach people good morals and respectable behavior, but this is something that I can best describe as being self-reflected upon for you to improve at it. It's a good thing to hold people in authority accountable.
This is quite honestly how I feel about the video. Part of me feels like the only reason he made it was because he got banned, as seemingly the issues only arrive when he gets banned, and some of the ban reasons feel legitimate given the fact he does come off as immature in this video. Not just because of the odd contrast, but that the evidence is often shown on screen for a second, even less, at times which makes me feel like he's not taking anything he says seriously. This makes me feel like he doesn't understand the weight of what he's casually throwing out as a joke, and the fact reading some of the exchanges, especially 0:48, where he faked his id does not inspire confidence in his character. I think it's important to not just hold those in authority accountable, but those that hold others accountable as well.

I slightly remember something about SS14 admins being bad in this video but I am not sure if that's still the case I haven't checked. (edit) just checked the pinned comment and it mentions "Rane" in SS14, searched it up on the Discord and it seems the community got rid of them.

The fact that you were able to sum up my personal problems with furries succinctly in a matter of seconds coupled with the fact that you are one yourself is seriously so refreshing to see. I have never been a furry myself, but due to the era I grew up in (90s into the early 00s) I was witness to the initial explosion in popularity (which is like a teardrop in the ocean in terms of its popularity nowadays) that the "community" went through. I quite honestly could not tell you how many times a furry attempted to groom me the moment they figured out/were told that I was a kid (11-12) or a young teen. It was enough for me to basically consider it the default behaviour from them and as such I distanced myself from them whener possible. What is the upsetting part is that over twenty years later (and despite warning them to keep away as well as various other online dangers) I have learned that my own Nephew has been victim to the very same behaviour as I was, though in his case they were successful (I am not going to elaborate on that too much, but i will say that he never met with anyone but he did provide them with materials. Something that I find deeply upsetting as he is equivalent to a son to me). This issue has been a problem before I encountered it, in fact my first exposure to the concept was via a documentary about it which would have dated to the very early ".com" years and it featured a segment in which the head of the/a (i say the because of how small things were at the time, X hundreds of people globally as opposed to Y tens of thousands in the modern age) community was speaking out about how they have had to clean up their image because of the actions of people within the community and at conventions (sound familiar?) and how he is hopeful that he was successful and it's not something that becomes synonymous with it... To those reading this who are into the fandom I have this to say. Your interests does not bother me (though it is a bit weird, but so are plenty of things), but the oversexualisation and far more concerning things that you are all aware goes on does. And unfortunately the only way in which you are going to be able to deal with it is to be actively looking for these types of people who are using the "accepting of all" aspect of your fandom as a shield, confirm your suspicions about them and report them to the authorities. In the past whenever I have mentioned this to furries the general response is "but ee don't condone it! Look at how we treated... Zero for example". To which I say that the instances i get presented with, the actions are always reactive and not proactive and therein is a part of the problem but also the solution. Sometimes there's a witch-hunt because there actually are witches. Thank you if you read all of this, I hope you understand what I am saying is not coming from a place of hatred. I just don't want other kids and teens to have to experience what I had to go through and worse still what my Nephew had to go through. The power is within your hands and i sincerely hope that you utilise it. I genuinely wish you all the best in life and your futures. @panigity something to note is that space love was just erping with someone on an erp server. On an 18+ server its a standard that people are of age and space love not looking through tens of thousands of cynders messages doesnt make them a pedo. They didnt know until long after. If i were to erp with someone and later they get caught to be a minor its unfair that I would get banned in the crossfire.

Considering people have been on a constant harassment campaign against smugleaf non stop for a long time now I am grateful they responded swiftly to you. Just to add to the wall of text that is 500+ comments, when Baphomet was staff, they weren't actually doing that much as staff since their main priority was just ERP. Never saw them ghost for one whole round. But when they had to do staff work, they needed someone to hold their hand and help them with what to do every time. Don't know if they lost their staff status by having it removed or just said "fuck it I quit being staff." before they were banned.
The controversy around Baphomet in splurt was practically a “alright we HAVE to let you go or else you poison the waters” kinda deal, completely removing them and censoring all mentions of their name.

TG station is some of the few that hasnt been tainted by ERP and furry shit but even then TG has it own problems and such, Even BEE station wasn't safe from some drama as a "certain" someone with a "certain" HoS in a "certain" Emergency pod was trying to have some "fun" Like Damn. I guess I joined SS13 too late to enjoy the greater things about it. Still fun of course.
As someone who played on Skyrat (I was a dev for a time), yeah I can agree with all of this. I used to talk about being a dev like how the departments of the German army during WW2 hated each other intentionally. On stuff like flavour text and all that: It's public, it's your advert. I wrote for it to be seen. I remember everyone loved Golden, thinking they were a 'nice' staff member. I mean, I knew them from before they became staff. I liked them then. Then they threw me and the rest of their friends under the bus. Xyel's shills, no matter what rank they were, were always sided with. But that's enough drama, it'll never end. The best move is to disconnect, either from SS13 has a whole, or their related discords.

The only times I've been to Skyrat and Splurt is using them as testing grounds for bombs, chem nades, and chemical mixes. As a side note I have found radiation is the best method to quickly and silently kill large numbers of people.

I witnessed a lot of the Xyel shenanigans in my time orbiting Skyrat as a mainchat schizoid shitposter and on-again-off-again player, and as much as the guy genuinely dislikes me [I tried to write lore for the server, was told to fuck right off after making a big document for the Skrell, and upon me saying that it isn't exactly possible to write when Xyel tries to control the lore with an iron fist, literally banned me from writing any official or unofficial lore on SR], I'm surprised I've not only retained my Veteran status, but not been banned for a reason either fabricated or genuine. He sort of has a formula: Blame the playerbase, talk about deleting SR, decide to leave, rant at people, come back, rinse, repeat. I don't expect that to be true for much longer [Hi Weh!], but I'm already off in a corner working on my own project, an RP server that isn't going to have more RP rules than Hammurabi had Laws. Gods know this video in particular's gonna stir SR adminship into a frenzy of damage control.
I gotta say, shout out to Hyper Station, the latter half of it's life when I played on was probably the best times I've had with SS13. The main server closed just two days ago so Memento Mori to Hyper. Everyone was made sure to be adults who entered, everyone in was really good at RP, and just all around it had a really amazing environment and all of us peeps who played on it had an amazing time with it before it shut down. The RP was so good that the lewdness behind it got overshadowed by an amazing multi-crew spanning collective lore for all of the crew members that we built up over years before getting our final stories wrapped up and getting a lovely send off at the end.
*couldn't even get into skyrat because the admin team is really strict on the applications, and am probably better off having moved to a different and less stringent server from what I've been told* (also SHIPTEST WOOO!)

I'm greatly amused that the original creator of SS13 is a furry, but really good for him I guess? I'm not really sure why that last part was in there except for shock value.

Former TGMC staff here - and previously a distant friend of Cynder and Spacelove. I just wanted to add a few things if anyone'd be interested. Sorry for the shit pacing but not doing to well at the time of writing, and just want to get this off my mind for now into the public view. I know SpaceLove's 'heart' was in the right place despite at times the dude came off as stuck up and power hungry, and a lot of people would complain to me of his history as HippieStation's staff. Regardless I was okay with the guy to degree and put up with his weirdness. I was admin when SpaceLove's trial in TGMC happens in our admin-only chat. I remember being woken up by my phone while me and my girlfriend were falling asleep to a movie. SpaceLove pinged all admins in that channel as a final resort for us to vouch and support him - I presume - promptly before one of the headadmins shoved 'proof' which was a snippet of their and Cynder's sexual roleplay which genuinely upsetted so many of us and we were just like... "Why?" SpaceLove was lured into it by Cynder because as I could see it, Cynder would constantly be befriending and scoping out who would be cohereced into their fantasies, pretty much 'scoping them out' including me, and (I fucking hope I'm wrong or there will be hell to pay even after all this time) my girlfriend who hung out and talked with them. SpaceLove unforunately fell for their antics and was cohereced into their quirky attempts after a small flirtatious conversation about being stressed and 'offering their services for release.' (Yes, I died inside reading that evidence too.) It's important to note something that Cynder was Transgender, and despite the supposed proof they were underage which was never proven, we believe that they are underage because of their deflection to having an age check done. Although it violated their privacy, it was way better than "It's a fucking kid who goes to SEX servers and tries to fuck everyone." Any attempts done were cited by Cynder was "Harassment" and "Transphobia" when... No? We just wanted to make sure a child wasn't be exposed to shit and solicating everyone to sexual roleplay. SpaceLove was elated to 'having a partner' that on an off-brand TGMC server, made by my good friend Sitrep(@sitrep1370), bragged about his relationship and posted a snippet of their roleplay (The same proof shown later in the admin chat) - To which Sitrep grabbed the evidence and immediately showed it to the TGMC's head staff at the time hence putting SpaceLove on proof... This later lead to both SpaceLove and Cynder being banned and essentially community blacklisted for their sickening actions, although in my opinion, SpaceLove got it way harder than deserved because they're pretty much a victim but DID technically neglect to age check their ERP partner. Also an offnote - me and my girlfriend had the pleasure of meeting Mosley in our meta-gang server for an obscure TG codebase. Though he didn't interact with her directly, it was really horrible to have him there as he just posted randomly shoved horrible furry porn in our general chat (the server owner, my buddy Subaruuuu, who later did become Splurt staff for shits and giggles and friends with Mosley, later kicked him out from the meta-gang for being cringe and driving people away - as well a distanced himself from Mosley). There's so much craziness in SS13's community, but I just want to rest and not think about it for a while. The true issue with the SS13 community is that people are resentful. Okay, must say that mostly the drama is associated to ERP servers, but people usually forget that non-erp ones can be as well worse when it come to these things. About the whole Spacelove thing, all I have to say is that it is not something you suddenly can come up with, I mean, they probably believed Cynder was 18+, since on most communities around ss13 people are around their 20's to above. But yeah, Spacelove is a sweet person, I say that knowing them personally. As much I wanted to say some few things, some of them mentioned by Spacelove themself, they told me to do not waste time with furry drama, but yeah... Just think people take things a bit too much harsh than they actually should take.. I mean, Spacelove isn't a predator in any way, they even condem that kind of stuff a lot, but yeah, I understand that some few things that were done wasn't exactly what they should've did, but I think people were and are being a bit too harsh.
@@JohnJake-rz3sv Nope, that was sadly Chaznoodles (He's a good guy, just abrasive) - who didn't dox anyone, merely reposted links when I just asked about someone thinking he'd type out who it was instead of linking it.. I was hit with a demotion and barring because I was going "Uh huh? Uh huh?" after I was talking about Mosley to an Ex-Hyperstation player who's staff in TGMC now (Wild, I know.) because he was in my DMs after finding out I knew Mosley (from the meta-gang server).
I was not available to give Spacelove support in undergoing due process and allowing him to defend himself at ease. Although I did not like Spacelove, we did not need to execute him in just a few hours. For situations like that it must be without a doubt, we shouldn't have had to do that in such a short time frame, though that was caused by circumstances. If Spacelove didn't start posting his own evidence in unorganized clumps and escalating the situation in the admin chat, it may have been handled better. But Spacelove made it worse for himself beyond what I expected and dug himself into a hole. Partially, it is my fault for telling him he can talk about it to defend himself in the admin chat, and not giving him any guidance on the matter as I figured he would have the people skills and know-how to defend himself or make the decision, but he did not. I also did not have the time to do him right. When I came back I could tell that he clearly lost his chill and entered a state of cognitive dissonance during the persecution he was facing, and couldn't bring himself to mount a defense. Sometimes you just need a little bit of help to make your point or defend yourself, and have any one on your side even just to make sure you know you're allowed to continue being there and be at ease, to not be walking on egg shells as though he was going to be banned out of no where at any moment, at least until he could do the best he can to prove his innocence. There were enough unknown factors at play that I would not say without a doubt that Spacelove was in the wrong. Cynder is an annoying shit, they may have leaked their own chat logs on purpose to vindicate Spacelove, where Cynder even deletes their own messages on occasion just to fabricate evidence. I do not know because the information was limited and the source I originally got was "trust me bro". I also did not have the time or energy to go over the situation afterwards and do what I can to make sure the verdict was right and that we did not just execute someone for no good reason. I did not feel I could just say "Are you sure you did everything right?" because by the time I was able to check out the situation, there was already a paragraph of announcement about Spacelove. Also unrelated, the Alex dox thing was him being delirious from illness and following along a conversation about someone having doxed Mosbles (details I am uncertain on) where there was a certain fruit farm forum brought up, and instead of noticing he was in a public space, he looked through the forum and asked if he was seeing the right thing. Spoiler alert: He did. Which is why he was only blacklisted from /TG/, and TGMC did not ban him from the server, only de-admined him. He would not have gotten the same treatment if he was being malicious.
@@Alexeivichi I see, I bothered to look into your case and a lot people had your back. It is suspicious that you're still blacklisted on TG itself but it be hypocritical to blame you for merely guilt by proximity. I had a knee-jerk reaction, I'm sorry for that. I should be better. I simply heard about that story because a friend told me about it, and personally I hate people who dox immensely because it's irresponsible and even in the worst cases you should just contact the proper authorities. I knew a friend whom sadly took their life after being falsely accused and doxxed, only later did the abuser admit they literally faked evidence. I've seen these stories too many times, so I don't particularly like doxxers and manipulators. I'll edit the original post to reflect this though. Thank you.

Shit servers have always existed in SS13, you just gotta find the good ones. Just happens that a Furry server in SS13 automatically disqualifies it from being good.
