But, most historians (probably not Drew though lol) break many countries down from tribes, to kingdoms, to empires, to dictatorships, and then to republics and democracies. Like you said, the country has existed for hundreds of years but, how they change is their age to many. Like after the fall of the Habsburg Monarchy and Italy and Germany reunified their states. To many that's when they became actual countries.
