I feel for you. Psychiatric drugs helps with the depression and anxiety but in return, it steals your soul. It seeks to destroy all the beautiful parts of yourself. I'm almost completely off of them and it feels like I've stood up to the devil and tore up a contract.

I have suffered from bouts of severe depression all my life. I've been on 20 mg. of Ciprelex for 8 years. In January of 2020, I weaned off over a four month period. I'm now 4 months off & I'm in Severe depression & Anxiety. I'm wondering how I would know if I have relapsed, or if this could be a withdrawal symptom? How can I tell? Please help! Message me at katanawaves@gmail.com

@Jes Bone @Jes Bone - It's been 2 years since I took my last AD. I'm still bed bound, agoraphobic, angry, anxious, tearful .....etc. I have a hard time believing this can still be WD. I weaned of 20 years of Benzo, and it was hell, but I could notice healing happening every few months. I'm sure this my original condition that has just gotten much worse

I've been on almost all the medications you've mentioned Joey, and I know that agony and misery. I currently take 2mg. Klonopin to sleep, and I live in this sad bubble. I have a wonderful, loving family who understands that I'm trying. But nit any people understand how hard it is to get a shower and go to work and deal with people. It's all I have for income right now but I cannot stand being around so many people and I have to look for something else. It's hell. And what's sad is I work with some great people and they do all they can to help. But all I want to do is stay in my house and watch t.v. and let myself truly heal. Much love to you and anyone else here going through tough times, God bless. 💖

Loca8723 thank you so much for sharing your story with me. I understand how difficult it can be. That’s is great that your friends and family support you so that’s a bonus right there. However if you do need sometime to selfcare I hope you can figure out an arrangement that can help you. It means a lot to me that you watched my video and reached out to me. Much love and hugs to you as well! Thank you so much

Im almost a year off. Although Im seeing slight improvements, its coming on sooo slowly. Im still too socially anxious to really have any sort of life, Im tired ALL the time (was a fit athlete before), my brain is still foggy and memory hardly there. I have difficulty expressing myself. I desperately want to be me again.

I’m on low doses . My dr just upped my prescription last month ... I felt that “no Joey in the equation “ Memory COMPLETELY SHOT (ever since I was born Everyone said how amazing my memory is) so that scared me and also that RAGE and just getting pissed off at everything , I didn’t even know myself at that point also I feel over time it has robbed me of everything if my personality and creativeness . They just want to keep pumping up the prescriptions , that’s very scary. Well (with “corona virus” on uprise now ... I’m not able to go see dr . And she’s made it difficult to contact and return anything .... so I’m like you know what it’s time I come off . I am on a very very low dose . So I’m on my third day off ... Last night I got a little insomnia. Been having those chills , runny nose etc etc . I do have a very silent headache. We’re gonna be fine and I hope we find ourselves and get back to doing what we LOVE !!! Glad I found your video .

I'm currently going off of 2 psych meds and going very slowly as I've been taking 1 for over 20 yrs and the other for about 10. I like Dr Peter Breggin. He has a few books out there and great informational videos. Hang in there.....Keep doing what you're doing and sharing your experience--- it helps others as well as yourself. Thank you for sharing so honestly. I feel like I'm not alone in my journey.

Im trying to withdraw from a psych drug, ive managed to get it down to the lowest possible dose, lower than is supposed to have any psychiatric effect, but man when I stop I feel like SHIT! Im stuck at this dosage, when I stop I get terrible headaches, cant concentrate, and feel like absolute shit. Its tough because I have a relatively demanding job and I need to be on the ball. Im planning on taking a month off and hoping the worst of it will be over in that time, I dunno, fucking sucks. Hope you feel better soon mate.

for those who never took psych drugs , please please please take it as your last resort only, last resort. And for those who was only on ADs but not ApS, if you withdrew from ADs you may go through a hell of withdrawl and u may have to undergo psychosis and had to take Aps , if then , please hold on . U would most likely stay on Aps for life once you started them, so if that’s the case, just hold on for a little while, a little bit. Meds are really the last resort.

Hi Joey, I have watched this video with my son Jan who is 48 and a gold medal winner in Special Olympics in Powerlifting and who climbed to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro. Jan has tapered off his Psych meds over 6 months and is clear of it now for 9 days. The other person who watched it with me was a Mother with a son who has mental-emotional disorders. I want to say that the way that you describe the sensations of how the drugs affect you both on and off is very validating. Want to know if you have experienced Tardive Dyskinesia yourself or know of these effects. The reason I mention this is because my son Jan -- as he was listening to your experience was getting VERY PULLED IN TO his emotions and they displayed as TD. I have seen this before in his reactions to our conversations when it raises his needs to have emotional expression. - 6 months ago at the beginning of his tapering, he spoke about whispering his full name over and over again so that he wouldn't forget who he was. . Keep up your recordings Love it.
