The Daystate Red Wolf is an amazing representation of state-of-the-art air rifle hardware (and software...)! Back in the early 1990's the Beeman Crow Magnum (Theoben Eliminator) was the rifle we all drooled over.... I eventually ended up with one and have had it for some 20 years.... Who knows what the future may bring regarding the Red Wolf? ;-)
I like this show a lot, but I wish you guys would mix it up a little. I know you guys love your day state rifles, but let’s get some variety, and get away from pcp’s all the time. Spring guns and piston rifles need some hunting time too.
I usually move on if I'm waiting more than 20 or so minutes between shots - some of these were only about five minutes apart. I've spent as long as two hours in position when getting plenty of shots to keep me distracted from the discomfort. All the best. Mat
I’m shopping for a good scope cam, watching this vid has convinced me that I need one. Now, which to buy, to fit a Hawke Sidewinder? Thanks for the vid.
Great video and a very good bag. I am glad that you took those god awful looking flip up caps with gate hinges off the little Mamba scope. What must they have been thinking of putting those on a pretty compact scope. It is all ' tactical ' these days ofcourse. Thanks for posting.
Hi Matt, To paunch a rabbit was a term we always used in Devon, but I have been in Scotland for the last 27 years. If you said paunch here no one would know what you were talking about.
Great video again Matt. One thing I noticed with you shooting the Red Wolf with the scope cam fitted, is there seems to be no hammer spring rebound noise in the soundtrack. Is the hammer electromagnetically fired?
Thanks Mat. I knew I should have been more specific. :) What I wanted to know is: Is the hammer driven by a normal coil spring ( which we can usually hear when scope cam is fitted ), or is it energised by an electromagnetic coil?
It’s a shame the target holder has gone from under £20 to 1p off of £30 yet is still excellent value. That’s just one item of kit! If only my income had kept.anywhere near that rate of increase I wouldn’t have minded. I’m sure it’s fantastic but it’s breached my barriers of good value. I might be on my own in this struggle to keep above water, I’m not sure. I love the videos and have no more to say, guess in my frustration at the moment an outburst was on the cards xx to everyone out there Dave
Too true Sean, Matt used the word drought. I don't think they know what a real drought is mate. Come to South Australia and see what drought is really like lol.
Great vid matt , stunningly accurate rifle , and a damn good looking one too ... bunnies just didnt know what hit em . Was the rifle 12ftlb ? Because it seemed too hit very fast and hard ( though I have it on good authority the redwolf will do 10p groups at 80mtrs , with the legal limit power ) can you confirm this type of accuracy? Because if its true , im selling one of my kidneys too fund one ( red laminate ) not that I particularly need that accuracy , because im a crap shot anyway .. great show yet again ... and nice too see a clean shaved face in the last clip ...
Gun is FAC but my sub-12ft/lb .177 would also drill at that range. It is very accurate, though you have to put the work in and find the right pellet. I have used FAC and legal limit variants. Both are phenomenal at 50m and I reckon 10p piece groups could just be doable at 80m in dead still conditions with the right ammo. All the best. Mat
Nicely shot rabbits Mat, In the market for a good ir torch for the side of my Yukon so will be looking out for the Fenix at Weston park in a few weeks time ! thanks for the info and uploading. atb phil.
If you haven't tried rabbit pot pie, try it. Take the chicken pot pie recipe and do it with rabbits. I put the crust on the bottom and top of 2 ea. 9" glass pie plates , I hi pressure cook the boned out ( 4/5 ) rabbits for 15 minutes with a cup of chicken broth and cut up 1 yellow onion and through that in . Then cook in the oven using the 45 minute chicken pot pie recipe. I throw in a couple extra cut up potatoes and I fudge a little on the creamer. Enjoy !
I just got some new steel targets from (shooting targets 7) a 1 inch and a 2 inch 3/8ths of an inch thick so my wolverine won't bugger them up I had some 1/8th inch thick steel targets and my wolverine wasted them (bent them all to hell) now to get accurate with them and order some more sooner or later I found a 2 1/2 inch targets along time ago talk to you soon
Check out the " airgungear " show .. Giles ( the bloke who duz the show )did a review a few years back ... there is other hunting vids on RU-vid for the R10 as well ... there great rifles , if yer thinking of a purchase .. ive got 2 ... so they can't be that bad ... I sont spend money willy nilly
It's made from a concerted Sony handicam. We showed how I made the attachment in this episode: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R5-PXN_hInY.html All the best. Mat
I like videos of Airguns! But I only create videos where nobody dies. Sorry guys, the video is good, but It would be better if you didn’t shoot in animals...
