Nonstopdan (who is himself Swedish) reviewed SAS a week ago and he, like you, was scathing. He at least did get a bottle of water, I think he was in premium economy. I'm afraid Covid has become just an excuse now for cost cutting 👎🏻. Hope someone from SAS see's these reviews and asks serious questions of that crew.

@Heather Davies Unfortunately these airlines are bleeding money and not making any....at some airlines it is really dire, I'm sure SAS is one of them that could go out of business soon.

Premium economy or business class seems to mean nothing among European airlines now, Emirates should do short haul ! Their economy is better than the business class of most European airlines.

I understand cost cutbacks, but it's criminal how Sweden has treated this pandemic. No mask or distancing even on an international flight?

Thanks for yet a great video! 👍 I am quick shocked SAS allows passengers with no masks but still uses “pandemic” as the excuse for no service in a two-hour flight. I hope their PR will contact you with a reasonable answer.

Well it should be noted that SAS by law and local municipal regulations have to remove alcohol in lounges and as well as the Ministry of health (Sweden and Norway) have put in advisory on how airlines should operate, there Onboard services shall be kept at a minimum (Removing buy on board services). Ofc it helps airlines reduce cost but they need to follow the local rules and regulations. Regarding crew and mask usage there may be different kind of Crew discipline since EI-SIG is operated by SAS Ireland and not SAS itself. I have only experienced flying with legacy SAS and not their subgroup SAS Ireland. I suggest trying them out again now as service and lounge is back to normal because of changes in regulations 😃

Wouldn't it be good if airlines like SAS just admitted that they weren't offering their usual service because of cost-cutting rather than blame it on Covid. Covid doesn't stop them providing hot food in the lounge or serving coffee on board.

FA over the intercom "There will be no service today due to cost cutting reasons" I assume the lounge was for the same reason as well. Such a change since the late 90s when SAS used to hand out drink minatures on board as if they were over the MTOW :) I guess the virus and the LCC competition is driving the market to the very basics. At least the weather was nice and the view out the window.

i guess the experience varies depending on the route you fly and which crew u get. i’ve flown with sas mulitple times since covid broke out, and there’s been no service on board, but they’ve always been strict about the boarding procedures and you have to wear a mask unless u have documentation from the hospital that says u can’t wear a mask

Not following safety protocols like masks and boarding protocols should be treated as legal offences and airline must be fined for the same by respective airline authorities 🔥

A lot of airline are using this pandemic as an excuse for subpar services. I mean just tdy virgin australia got exposed for serving instant noodle in their business class lol

My friend, these last several weeks I've been going airborne also going to where i need to also. Here in the states, i paid for first class(supposedly)on American airlines and let me tell you. It was the most disappointing flight of my life. It was @ least about a 1hr/45 minute flight, and i didn't ever get served a bottle of water. Then, there was Avianca going from JFK(New york) to san salvador, el salvador. They gave a paper bag ok? A freaking, paper bag, on business class on a 13 year old airbus A319 and A320. And in the bag was a tiny cup of this unusual salad. No hot food and anything good. A tiny salad. This is all a very difficult time in the airline industry not just in Europe, Scandinavian, or Norwegian. All over the world. Not a good time to fly anywhere as of rightnow so in a way, i don't really blame too much Scandinavian airlines for being so crappy rightnow. But then again, you're right. You should've @ least gotten so drinks or light snack. Didn't have to be anything fancy. The airlines rightnow all over the world sucks and this is why as of rightnow, i won't be flying anywhere anymore on any airline until they get their crap together.

I’ve also traveled a lot in the past few months and I can tell you for sure that at this stage most of the service cuts are to save money and nothing more than that. The hypocrisy that I saw in this airline though is something I didn’t see anywhere else

@My Trips A lot of airlines are on the verge of bankruptcy at this point. They are barely holding on, but the companies must be transparent to customers so that they can understand the situation, instead of being deceptive. Most customers are understanding IF a business is open about their situation and honestly in financial trouble. However it is things like the cabin crew goofing off and laughing up front away from the passengers definitely unprofessional, and it looks terrible too!

Agree with your comments about this flight My Trips. The pandemic is a convenient blanket by which to justify the reduction in services across a number of areas. The SAS website clearly states that all passengers six years of age and older must wear a mask for boarding, throughout the entire flight, and during disembarkation. Furthermore it states that passengers not wearing a face mask will be denied boarding.

SAS not serving food is fully justified! Norway and denmark has always been very strict on regulations, you are required to wear a mask onboard, obviously you cant eat with a mask. And in The lounge serving a boufeet where EVERYONE touches The same stuff is not a good idea either

I'm sorry to say but I did not see any regulations being observed, not even by the cabin crew members themselves. This is just a cost-cutting exercise using COVID as an excuse

at the very very least, you made it there safely. be grateful for the safe flight. but it is indeed very irresponsible people don't wear a mask. It only takes dogs for 1 month-ish to do potty training, we are 1 year in the pandemic, people still don't remember how to wear a mask or how to wear it properly. that is just insane.

If economy class passengers didn't receive any on board snacks and a drink, I take it Business Class passengers didn't either, so they have wasted a lot of money for nothing.

I think I know why the crew didn't care about social distancing and masks onboard this flight. Probably because Scandinavians are smart and always take full responsibility to keep their distance from others and only travel when necessary, even if there were no floor markings or lockdown. They're smart. They just seem to take COVID much more seriously than other countries!

I've recently had a flight with BA, they were shocking at enforcing the face mask rule, as were Ryanair, easyjet were slightly better! Although, if the staff at Heathrow can't even wear their masks correctly what hope do we have!

Cutting costs and stopping service is acceptable if you have to do it to save money, I have no problem with that. Using the pandemic as an excuse though to save money is not acceptable
