Celine being able to run in her dress at 1:03 is actually kinda terrifying. If I saw a giant yellow cupcake running full-speed toward me with a long, blood-colored knife, I’d be running like my life depended on it

I love how these animations are like "remember what we did on the GBA? Let's do that again, but better"

Fogado and Timerra both have crit attacks that involves kicking the enemy's face in is SOUL

I love the energy flowing from Alear’s attack

What also helps is the camera angles and especially the sound design. 3H did in fact have a small handful of animations like this, such as a few of the class mastery combat arts, and a few classes like Assassins, Warriors/War Masters, Mortal Savants, Higher ranked/Dark Magic Spells and fliers, but without the 2 previous aspects, especially the sound design, battles as a whole don't have as much impact or force with their attacks. Brawling hits literally reuse the Shove/Smite sound, and Swordmasters have the latest crit animation in the whole game, maybe the lamest attack as a whole. The only one with a somewhat decent camera effect is the Pegasus/Falcon Knight lance crit against monsters, which is literally a random glitch that happens for no reason at random and looks more goofy than anything. At least they kept the charging at your foe when initiating combat at 1 range and reflexive counterattacks from Echoes.

They really made the attack animations so cool and dynamic this time.

I feel like we finally got a worthy successor to GBA sprite animations

Rider Kick What is it with the Solm royal siblings going "Let me spin kick my opponent with style before I end their entire career with my weapon!" in their crit animations? Still wait for the RNG 1 Thief crits Ben...

I love Alear's heaven and earth strike so much and I don't know why

Even though I have favorite crit animations the axe throw and crit is one I can never get over it

Warrior double bow crit is hilarious. Double backflip shots that flow unnecessarily well

Cupido's animations are the reason why I keep Fogado Cupido

Engage was my first Fire Emblem and I went back to play three houses after. Three houses does a lot right with the interesting story and the multiple paths but the animations are no where near as epic as in Engage.

Radiant Dawn had the best 3D animations before Engage and thats sad.
