Oh dang, I am sorry! I am not 100% sure how to help you with that. Maybe contact canon and ask them.

I used the supplied cord and then downloaded the canon program onto my computer. It allows you to use your computer as a advanced style remote

Sadly yes, to see them on your phone you have to be connected to the cameras wifi

You can choose any of those sets to be replaced with your phone or iPad. Those are just the factory names for the “slots”

That's a good question, I have never ran into that. I'm sure you have, but I would try to "forget the network" and start over again

It is probably the case, that your normal internet connection has been disabled whilst you are connected to the camera's hotspot. If you need the internet, you will have to discconnect from the camera first and then activate you normal router hotspot.

i have not had success with downloading videos straight from the camera wifi onto my phone, i always have to connect it to my computer

Mine also and the computer is not connecting with my camera. This is so fustrating and seems noone can help with the issue. Did you figure it out?

I don’t have this camera, but does the camera have to be connected to a WiFi network as well as the phone or tablet? I’m asking because if I’m on a cruise ship and don’t have WiFi would I still be able to transfer pictures.

Everything Comics is did you open up the app while it was connected to the cameras wifi?

Everything Comics maybe try killing all the apps and trying again. I can't imagine why it wouldn't work

Do you have the wifi setting turned off on the camera and are you plugging the camera in while it's off and then turning it on while it's still plugged in?

Thanks for your reply! I've tried numerous things, but I don't think it ever occurred to me to turn the WI-FI setting OFF, to try to use the USB cable. (As mentioned before, the computer doesn't react or seem to acknowledge that the USB cable is plugged in at all - and I could not find any settings in the camera's menu to explicitly enable/disable the camera's USB port). I'll have my wife try that, to see if it makes it work better - thanks! If it does enable the USB port, how do you think it would then work for transferring pictures to the PC? Would I still need the EOS utility software, or should the camera then just appear as a mass storage device from the PC's perspective? I had been able to get the camera to attach to my home WI-FI network successfully, but even once I knew its assigned IP address (displayed on the camera's LCD screen), couldn't connect to it with web browser or either of the two versions of the EOS camera utility software - so wasn't sure how this was supposed to help me. Thanks again for your assistance!

It should just appear as a mass storage, I never transfer them that way. I either use the wifi and transfer them to my iPhone or I just remove the sd card and then put that into my computer. Let me know if that worked for you!

Even with its WI-FI setting turned off, the camera still doesn't show up at all when plugged into the PC via USB cable. (I know the cable is good too). Powering the camera off and on while it is plugged up doesn't help either. I don't believe that the camera is defective in any way, everything else about it seems to work well - it just won't connect to the PC or Canon's PC utility software at all. Not clear what the purpose of the camera's USB port is, since it doesn't ever seem to do anything at all. Oh well, my wife will just have to remove the SD card and directly read that on her laptop I guess... Thanks again for your help!

I'm glad you were able to figure this out. I am having the same issue but my computer won't even recognize the SD card smh. This is so disappointing. I am wondering if it is my computer, shouldn't be since it is less than 2 years old. I have no way of viewing my pictures now except for on the camera.
