Well! What do you know.. Mario & Luigi Brothership got announced a week after this video and it looks good. This is a GREAT sign for the future of Paper Mario. These can BOTH live together as turned based RPGS. Sales have proven that. Thanks so much for watching! My ideal future paper Mario game would be a story on the level of super, the jokes of color splash, the visuals of origami king and the battle system from TTYD. Color splash is easily the funniest game in the series. It’s not even a competition
And the music will also have motifs of every Paper Mario game, like TTYD did with some of its music Music wise, this series has never beem bad and always consistent
I'm absolutely loving the remake. It was my first playthrough of the game ever. We need a sequel that's on the same level with a similar battle system. I believe they can give it to us now. They already implemented so many good ideas in the remake.
The need to incorporate the battle system and characters from TTYD and the level design and action adventure elements from Origami King. That’d be the perfect Paper Mario game no question.
Imagine hiking up a hill with a companion as the top of the mountain is far away in frame, ducking back intro the trees to come out closer and closer. Such a vibe
If we really are in the Mario RPG renaissance (which I really hope and believe we are) then I’m gonna say Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope kickstarted it!
First of all the fact that they showed it last at the last direct and the mini toad mentioned in the dialogue that he wants a sequel to ttyd and on top of that they did a Mario RPG remake I definitely strongly agree paper Mario is going back to their roots on the next game.. but the only problem is at the same time is people want a sequel to Mario RPG 2 so I think what's going to happen is they either want to test the waters when it comes to sales or try to do something more like paper Mario mix what super Mario RPG gameplay style to please both fans
What I want out of the next PM game is simple: the OST, graphics, level design, and humor of Origami King, the Battle System and Partner design from TTYD, and the story efforts of both Origami King and TTYD. Do that and you give the fans the most perfect Paper Mario game of all time. TOK and TTYD are the best of their respective trilogies, and I see the vision of fusing them as the best idea for the next game.
I want the level design, music, visuals and exploration of ToK with the characters, battle system (EXP, partners, items, badges) of 64/TTYD. Also, I wouldn’t mind a unique battle system like the one in ToK, but just add EXP, partners, badges, etc…. I feel like the ring system would have been fun with EXP, partners, etc….
Yep, I've always wanted to see a new Paper Mario game that combines the best parts of both the old and new games - especially Origami King (apart from the level design, visuals, music etc., you could even have something akin to the boss battles from that game along with traditional ones similarly to how Mario & Luigi had Giant Bosses)- and even more so after seeing its potential in practice thanks to the TTYD remake, fingers crossed it will finally happen! By the way, if you haven't seen my comments on the latest videos it's because I'm slowly playing through the remake myself, will definitely watch them after completing it!
After playing through the Paper Mario 64, and the TTYD Remake. I really like the turn-based battle system, the partners, and the variety of characters that aren't just generic Toads and Bowser’s Minions. And I would love to see these in the next Paper Mario game. It's like fixing the series as whole after the disastrous pattern they went in Sticker Star and Color Splash (which I never played). I think the future is looking bright. But still, we may not know what's Nintendo's move.
I think they could (and definitely should) go back to that beta build of Sticker Star because it was shown to be a classic Paper Mario game at first. There may be only a handful of screenshots and trailer audio, but it looked so good. You should check it out.
I’d love the next Paper Mario gave to have the unique world and partners and other characters and the classic gameplay with the scale and music design (which the TTYD did origami king-ify the music in the best way possible with like unique battle themes for each world and such) of origami king it’d be amazing!
After the TTYD Remake and Nintendo putting to see what they like about Mario Rpgs so much gives me hope that the series will return to its roots anyways what do you think Swiftjar
I saw someone make a good point that since the survey gave people Club Nintendo points and such that everyone just rapidly clicked through them as fast as possible and didn’t actually read it which unfortunately obviously effected the results….
Is has to do with the framing of the question. If I remember correctly, it said something like “is the storyline the most important part of a Mario game?” Or something like that.
I don't know what made the creators think leveling up and having DIVERSE characters (not just multicolored TOADS) was a BAD idea Future games should include this
Great video mate. Nintendo needs to basically take the formula for TTYD and stick with that. the games were crap after the GameCube, keep it as an RPG, and just add a new story. Clearly Nintendo have realized this is the one people like, so make a sequel that's in the same style and genre and we'll be happy.
Something that came to my mind is maybe another Mario and Luigi/ Paper Mario crossover. If Nintendo is able to revive that series, it would be cool to have these two franchises to cross paths again with new original characters
Super Paper Mario with the possibility to switch between the original's gameplay and TTYD'S gameplay. That way you can still have the original experience AND the people who don't like it and don't want to play it because of that gameplay can still have their dear turn-based combat.
I think they should just make more games that continue off Mario RPG to mix what people love about Mario RPG and classic Paper Mario together. Have the fast top down style gameplay that Mario RPG has to offer with the battle system and characters feeling more like classic Paper Mario, and then continue to improve the Origami King formula for Paper Mario games with the combat only being Origami King style overworld fights, and no more pointless gimmicky turn base battles without an incentive.
I'd love the next game to be a Time Travel story, where Paper Mario is forced to travel through time (Evolving Animation Styles) to save the world. The environments would be large like Origami King, the battle system would be a mixture of the classic games and Origami King with Horde Battles. Paper Mario travels with a trio of companions that can be interchangeable, and time mechanics play into the game. Also being sent to the past changes traversal to 2D.
Last time Nintendo made a time travel Mario game, the game was excellent, but the story was so terrifying that anything that reminded me of the Shroobs gave me chills.
i see a lot of people saying what they want for the next game and all, but they never mention the one thing the horror, we gota keep up the streak of having existential horror elements in this silly paper series for no good reason other then the devs liked it and want to do it more fr tho super paper marios villain had a whole plan to kill *everything*, in color splash the black paint was quite literaly using chemical warfare by filling up countless nuclear bomb with a extremely toxic black substance
I mostly hope that we can get a remake of the original Paper Mario as well! While we already have it available through the Nintendo Switch Online service..., it definitely doesn't hold up graphically sadly 😭Either that, or a brand new adventure taking the best aspects of both of the first three games lol!
Sadly, I don't think Nintendo even cares. Every game after TTYD was such a big departure from the series. The game for the Wii was arguably the last good Paper Mario game. Sticker Star and Color Splash were complete trash and Origami King wasn't even Paper Mario imo with having some of the main RPG element ripped out
@@SwiftjarNintendo has no reason to have 2 different mario series that are rpgs and the mario & luigi series has no reason to be brought back due to bringing back the original and true mario rpg which is super mario rpg
I don't think they will give us what we want, I've heard they can no longer make original characters for Paper Mario, so no partners, or unique characters, hence why Origami King had general characters.
I personally dont think Paper Mario should go back to Turn-Based battle mechanics. Ok so i have never actually played any Paper Mario games, (Super being the exception) but I have seen alot of footage from each game and I do enjoy alot of the creative aspects of the series. But I dont really enjoy the idea of going back to an old battle system. I do, however, really like what they tried to do with Origami King, where the battles were more of a Puzzle than an actual fight, which is really cool on paper, the problem i have heard people have with it is that, since there wasnt any level or experience system, there was no incentive to do any battles apart from required fights. SPM has also already proved that Paper Mario can be good without Turn Based mechanics. And that was actually the only PM game I actually sort of played. (I only got to World 3 tho) I would like to see the next game have a new, wacky, crazy battle system unlike anything anyone has ever seen before, making it fit more with the hyper-creativity of Paper Mario, but also one that gives players an incentive to actually engage with them, since that seems to be the main problem with the newer trilogy. I, unfortunately, dont have any ideas for one, but if you have an idea, you can type one in the replies.
absolutely not lmao. Origami King’s battles aren’t just boring and pointless because of the lack of experience (literally making battles a waste of time), but the battles themselves take simple encounters that could take maybe 30 seconds into 2-3 minutes. it felt like gimmicks for the sake of something different, not something actually better and necessary.
