Advances in fundamental physics suggest a natural universe-generating mechanism, implying infinitely many big bangs scattered through time and space.
The observed universe is thus relegated to an infinitesimal fragment in a vast and more elaborate system, dubbed the multiverse.
This approach could explain the Goldilocks enigma - why our own universe is so bio-friendly that it looks like intelligent design. But the multiverse concept has bizarre implications for the nature of reality and our place in the universe.

Incredibly intelligent, diversely researched, and well spoken man... loved this presentation and especially the Q&As! I can't wait to hear everything from Paul in coming years!

It’s not that the universe is made for life, it’s that life evolved within the universe. If the universe was different and life was possible in that universe, the life would be different from what we know as well.

"It’s not that the universe is made for life, it’s that life evolved within the universe. If the universe was different and life was possible in that universe, the life would be different from what we know as well." But this is precisely what we don't know. And why perhaps we should be investigating why we are inclined to one explanation over another. Of course life and the universe cannot be separated.

The answer to the Fermi Paradox. There is a beautiful loving Universe many people claim they experience when they are undergoing an NDE. Long before any Advanced Civilization gains the technology necessary for Interstellar Travel - they find a way to escape to that Universe. In other words, it is technologically easier to get to that other very pleasant and safer place, than it is to develop the Type II Civilization Technology necessary for Interstellar Travel. This explains why we have found no sign of an Advanced Alien Civilization anywhere in our Universe.

Our earth is based on matter,, there is also water, fire, air and space, all macro elements. There are multiple micro elements. If every element macro and micro can be represented by its own planet and universe then the show really gets interesting.

How could you possibly know that? You think all the complexity self assembled? Things always have a cause.

His argument relies on the presumption of an infinite universe or infinite number of universes. He also presumes consciousness arises from matter.

Trying to wrap my head around the idea that before the Big Bang, there may have been an "eternity" with NO time, before time actually began. And if the universal expansion continues to accelerate, there will be another eternity - but this time, with LOTS of time...
@PetraKann
@PetraKann 2 года назад
That’s not how Davies described it. It’s like using words such as weight or mass to describe a property of the photon which is massless. You may as well ask “what sort of clocks existed before the big bang when matter, energy, space and time didnt exist?
@francesco5581
@francesco5581 9 месяцев назад
i totally agree , a no time environment is needed since "eternal regression" is silly.
@francesco5581

@@PetraKann time is related to matter ... but pretending that everything popped our from nothingness is not accepted so "something" always existed. And since eternal regression cannot be accepted either we need to accept a "no time" level of reality.

@@francesco5581 Time is not related to matter - change is. Who was it that said "....time is needed otherwise everything would occur at the same time"? All we know about time that is fairly certain or concrete is its direction - and that direction appears to be dictated to by the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics (Entropy) But who knows......
@francesco5581
@francesco5581 9 месяцев назад
@@PetraKann Time would not exist without energy, gravity ... And yes actions can exist all at the same time. The example is the one if the stick watched from aside or through it ...all the actions fuse in an eternal "now". That is the perception that everyone who had an NDE experienced (not matter if an hallucination or a real experience), so the mind is able to accept a "no time" environment.

Depending on the location /time stamp off the observation, he may be right , it was expanding because the nature of the Big Bang but as it’s finite energy is fading as it is all slowing down ,the light used in observations is very young but billions yers old now .

There's no KNOWN mechanism for the BB. It is not known whether it came from something or somewhere or how or what, but it (or something exactly like it) definitely happened. Like there was no known mechanism for evolution before Darwin - even though everybody already knew evolution definitely happened.

How could we ever know how the universe began we can’t but I can tell u this there is no god involved because he doesn't exist
@PetraKann

The big bang theory says nothing about what created the universe or what occurred at t=0 or before the Plank Time limit. It merely states that the universe is expanding and that earlier in the Universe’s life it was hotter and more densely packed. It also says that density fluctuations existed or formed early on in the universe’s development. Biological evolution or Darwinianism is similar in that it says nothing about how life started or why. It describes a mechanism (natural selection) by which life can change and evolve. Whether God exists or not is a different question and can in any case co-exist with both these theoretical frameworks which have an abundance of experimental and observational evidence to support them.

Copernicus was right in terms of Man and of his Consciousness. Da Vinci saw it the same way as Copernicus. Today, realty is based on matter: materialism. The reality is: we are the conscious center around which space is revolving. We need to get back to Reality, and likely will when Consciousness is no longer ‘the hard problem’ but is understood. Materialism explains matter, it does not explain Reality. That is why religion is important, the ancients both Pagan and Christian were religious so they saw more, and understood more, than just matter or what is elemental, based on the elements micro and matter. They consciously and mentally saw and felt what was causal to the elemental although they did not name it as material science does: all composed as: Spirit or Consciousness; magnetism, electromagnetism, forces, elements, and the organizing vibrating principle that brought them to form(s) and coherence and continues to sustain them. Modern science (material science) struggles as matter does not have the power to make anything happen by random selection or anything else. God did not ‘make’ the universe He dreamed the universe. There is no difference between God and the universe. The universe is in the mind; the consciousness of God. God is both Spirit (transcendent) and Immanent (as the Consciousness and Mind in which Universe(s) manifest.
