More like Moon and 2001 A Space Odyssey combined. This predates anything from Black Mirror. The Armstrong and Miller Show ran from 2007 to 2010. Black Mirror started in 2011 while the movie Moon is from 2009. The setting here is completely drawn from Moon and the main character in that movie is called "sam".

I suppose it might appear crude to those who are unable to take a broad enough viewpoint to see the issue being raised here, or are happy to accept living their life completely under a spotlight with absolutely zero privacy ... EVER. The good comedians use their skill to draw our attention to moral & ethical issues such as this, and A&M do this well. It is nicer to get a message over with humour than scariness, it's called satire. There are plenty of things for which we need privacy and they could have picked something other than masturbation, but masturbation is something quickly understood by all without having to go into graphic detail in order for the viewer to understand why the protagonist needs privacy. It is also something to naturally elicit an embarrassed giggle, thus easing open our chuckle response. So it is far from crude. Is it funny? Well, the issue at hand is far from funny. Sliding into a big brother is horrific. And enabling us to face these horrific ideas with humour is a very good skill. A&M manage this very serious business very well and got the message across in a manner that we can actually enjoy. They get a laugh out of most viewers, so I will accept that as a strong indicator that it is funny. I realise that many folk can't see that humour goes beyond wit, puns & slapstick. But if they can learn to read between the lines, there is a wealth of great humour out there that will not only make you laugh, but also enrich your life.

@@Kimdino1 Don't bother trying to convince this idiot. They could have said it wasn't their cup of tea, but they felt like pissing in everybody's cereal. Anybody with such a negative disposition isn't going to listen to anybody else's viewpoint.

I apologise for laughing. I and many others who did so were wrong. We failed on two counts actually. One. By laughing. Not in an argumentative way. Like a schoolboy level attempt to disptove your sage observation but out of profound crudity. But secong and most remiss of all. We failed to ask you first. Rather than trust two famous comedians. Their writing and production team and anyone with a well developed and functioning sense of humour. Sorry. Maybe to relax a wank might help you though?
