Well if anyone is struggling with MP then use Soul Drain on The bots when they get staggered it does a lot trust me

This fight is made with the purpose of having to use and appreciate Aerith's abilities in this game. Luminous Shield, Arcane Wars and Ray of Judgement are key to prevail here, also ATB Ward is useful.

Wow! Thanks for this vid. I kept focusing on the wheels and it was taking forever. Dealing direct damage to the BODY using the luck-up (for the critical damage) and elemental was the key!

Old vid, but needed there was still a few things that could've been added to make the fight even easier. Phase 1: using Tempest on the support bots to maintain ATB, and more importantly using Focus Shot on Arsenals cannon when it prepares it's blast attack. Red even say, "there the right arm" and "weak spot" appears overhead. Doing so will have Red stagger a drone allowing Aerith to gain MP with Soul Drain. Homing Lasers is best handled with Thundaga, but unless you right behind Arsenal, best find cover. Phase 2&3: When Arsenal is pressured or staggered aim for the wheels. People try to do so when it's not even though there's the green energy still coating them. Same deal with handling Cannon and lasers in phase 1 Phase 4: Start by Launching a tempest and if there's ATB on Barret, maximum fury into over charge if you have it. Charge it while behind the pillar. Then repeat. I also want to mention regarding Overcharge, that practicing taping triangle to reduce cool downs is something a player should do before tackling Hard. Getting some of the more techy aspects goes a long way. For set up, prayer on both is necessary. Barret is a great prayer user as he fills ATB fast. There was time in the vid were Prayer from Barret really could've come in handy. Element + Lightning or just don't run it at all. Really cool to rewatch older guides and see ow people tackled the game when it was still new! ☺

Awesome tips! Was getting murdered at first and forgot to put prayer on aerith. Luckily, I had some mp to cure. Made this boss look like a chump!

At first i didn't like the hard mode at all in this game ... Now i'm freaking loving it! It just gets time to get used to, for me at least. The fulfillment you get by defeating these bosses is twice as much as defeating them for the first time in normal mode. This boss was fun man

Just used this strategy and it worked like a charm on the first try. Barret has a Limit Break ready to go in the final phase, Fat Chocobo did his final attack immediately after the cutscene, and I hit it with Aerith’s Ray of Judgement all at the same time after the debris was destroyed. He didn’t stand a chance! Thanks for making and posting the video! I used all of Aerith’s MP in the Jenova battle like a dummy and this strategy totally saved my bacon!

this is a much more realistic guide other youtubers going in on this boss with full mana got me scratching my head lol!

i died so many times before this guide. This was SUPER helpful. I think the best tip is to separate your characters on each end and keep switching them when Arsenal focuses on the other.

Great tips this triple boss fight gauntlet had me worried. I'm just hitting chapter 15 of hard mode now and so far it's been manageable.

Fantastic video. Just one suggestion that would have made this fight easier for you. When Barret finishes his normal attack he reloads. If you press Triangle while he is doing the reload animation, you don't lose any time while reloading the next attack and charging up your triangle for more damage.

I just used this method and beat the boss about 10 minutes ago. Thank you so much for this helpful guide! Also, just a little tip that if you have Barret's limit break available, save it for that last stage and use it when you need to kill the boss within 30 seconds

God I was getting hammered as I had no mp thank god for this. Did it on my first try after trying this out!! By the end aerith actually gained enough mp to finish it off with a thundaga ddd

I went into this fight blind completely thinking that lightning with elemental was the way to go.... lol I was doing 5 damage ... didn’t have fire ... killed him though . Can’t wait to ply this on hard mode

I stopped watching your video after 39 seconds and beat the game for the first time on hard mode. It’s the first time I played on hard mode. 🤣 Great strategy! I had Götterdämerung on Aerith. I prioritized protection over damage.

Did you mean atb ward, not arcane ward when you’re describing what aerith will do?

Actually fun and easy fight with this setup. Didn’t use any magic... just heal with pray and used ray of judgment with Aerith and Chargeshot or Maximum Fury with Barret. Make sure you save Catastrophe LB for the very end for instant kill!!!!

exactly what happened to me. Arsenal is the third boss in this run and I used all my magic.

That was a hard fight for me on hard. At the end it was like that: barrett dead - revive- limit - repeat

can anyone tell me why lately for me... only the "leader" of the group can use their summon?... or maybe it's not even the leader.. but only 1 or the other can... don't have the option to use whichever summon each one has in a battle...??

I'm doing a hard mode, yellow materia only, no Gotterdammerung, no summon challenge I made up. Any idea how to beat hell house with only yellow materia in hard mode? I came close, but rng gods weren't with me.

I noticed you're using the mythril rod, but as far as I know the arcane ward ability isn't available for that weapon. How do I unlock it? I'm also not doing nearly as much damage as you, despite having fully upgraded my weapons. Any idea why? I've made the mistake of not doing the collisium fights and unlocking additional limit break abilities, but I worked really hard to get to where I am in this chapter and I am dreading having to redo it lol. If push comes to shove I might have to, haha.

"The AI is pretty good at hiding behind cover during attacks" I don't trust that AI... I had Aerith killed multiple times because she was running into a charge or just standing there while Arsenal attacked her with saturation fire.

Why didn't you use soul drain with aerith? Maximum fury will do more stagger than focus shot on non pressured enemies. I guess this works but it's extremely slow and there are probably more abilities you didn't showcase here

Good guide way better then any other guide up for this fight there u and another guy simply because u guys have commentary and u explain how to do it the other ones suck although they do it in 3 minutes and really fast but that’s just the exact problem with it is because they don’t explain shit there just doing it with no explanation at all that’s like making a video teaching people how to do a back flip but in the video u just do one quick back flip and say there now u do it and call it a teaching video I’m so sick of clicking on so called guide videos and it be nothing more then look what I can do video nobody cares were here to get good information on how to beat the boss that’s it nobody cares about u beating it lol anyway good guide bro I really just ended up doing it my way but paused the game after every faze to see what to attack

Why different elements with elemental. Would you not want them both to be on lightning since that is what the boss is weak to?

We can't set up the materia build youre suggesting because the godamn game wont let me rest after rufus id have to replay the whole chapter again on hard and reslot the materia before fighting rufus and that's not happening

Mentions to use "Ray of Judgment" during the last phase of the boss but dosint show him doing it 🤔

How come the elemental attack magics need to be different?

Can you actually defeat the wheels ? This boss was hard in normal mode, and I tryed to much to focus on the wheels.
