“Voir Dire” means “See Speak” not “Speak the Truth”

"Voir" means "see" in modern French, but it has a second more specialized meaning of "truth". "Speak the truth" is the correct translation of "voir dire".

yeah but this isn't really French, it's legal lingo, that comes from centuries ago. it's really middle english Norman lingo .
