As an Atheist, I believe in Intelligent Design: I believe that every god ever invented, is the result of believers intelligently designing them. The proof, is that every believer can tell you the exact characteristics of their god. They can tell you their god's opinion on any given subject. They know their god's thoughts, and intentions at any given moment.
@@obliviondio God is an imaginary being, therefore, anyone could pull anything out of their arse and it would be equally valid, which is to say have no notable validity at all. But when you reach the point the believer starts having to clearly make shit up that isn't actually in their religious scriptures, the debate is over and rather they are willing to admit it or not, they have lost.
@@obliviondio That isn't how facts work. They aren't subjective, and don't vary from person to person. If something is subjective, it isn't a fact, just an opinion.
@@obliviondio No, I mean that is the definition of the word "fact" fact /fakt/ Learn to pronounce noun a thing that is known or proved to be true. If it is not DEMONSTRABLY PROVEN it is not a fact , I don't like when people start playing game of deliberately misusing words. When you do that it is no longer a conversation because removing the meanings of the words removes all meaning from the discourse. Continue and you will be blocked, because I have no interest in wasting my time
@@obliviondio Everyone knows that drinking water is required for human life however bathing exists. Sex can have more than one function such as bonding.
@@obliviondio When I go in for some hot and steamy homosexual intercourse I'm not expecting a baby to come out. Your example is bad and has nothing to do with anything. animalistic behaviors, all the way from the most basic instincts to consume up to our own human interactions with the world are not based in logical thinking and is precisely why we need to lay out rules for logical thought instead of going with what just feels right. Homosexuality existing has nothing to do with whether or not logic works. Homosexuality does not exist because two human beings sat down and had a logical conversation about methods of reproducing. It exists because we're animals, we have brains, and those things are not wired for logical processing. Survival, pattern-seeking, literally any other behavior that can sneak in as long as it isn't too detrimental to survival can be passed along, nevermind the malfunctions. Your statement is incoherent. The concept is not "illogical to some and logical to others", it is half-baked and fails to draw a comparison to any actual thought or process behind what homosexuality is.
Why do people keep insisting that the ability to conceive of a concept has any bearing on the existence of such a concept. They do not accept this for any claim they were not indoctrinated with. Either this is a brilliant argument that is far from my understanding, and no Christian can actually explain it properly, or it is absolute bullshit... Until someone can explain it in a way that doesn't apply to every fictional creature ever I will go with the latter.
God spent most of a week creating us then a few days to create the universe and then a day of rest. Okay, the universe is still getting bigger all the time. So is it a hobby now? I guess a hobby is better than torturing and killing your kid. Then again, perhaps God is working all the time and torturing his kid was part of his hobby.
Christmas - where I live (sweden) you could call it a gateway drug to christianity. There are plays with focus on thebabyjesus and you often have christmas decorations like the north star etc, and you also read from the bible (my christian relatives will read out loud to the children who has to sit and listen) on christmas eve
Matt loves to use the word "Pixie" (it seems like he uses the word every other sentence. Of course I'm kidding). I'm going to send him a huge box of "Pixie Stix" for Halloween.
Modern theists love to present esoteric definitions and abstract arguments. How does that apply to the billions of people who have lived and died under this religion without any understanding of the arguments being set forth today?
It seems to me that a lack of imagination sometimes prevents a person from seeing an infinite number of equally plausible options with the one that the person has clung to. Accustomed to thinking that the option is the only one, the person concludes that it is correct. The person grows so much with conviction that in adulthood for the first time seeing a pocket dog denies it belonging to the canine.
In order to be intelligent you must be able and willing to admit your ignorance. In other words when you think you know it all you'll never learn another thing. Because why would you keep looking if you think you have the answer. Calling yourself a dummy or admitting your ignorance in a topic it's kind of like the first step of becoming intelligent. The first step of many
James West fancy haha had no idea what you were talking about at first. Went online and found something about some eccentric beetle collector who died and his stuff went to the Smithsonian as the largest specialized collection of that type ever. Then I realized what the letters were haha
