Considering their QB situation last year, I don't blame Atlanta for a second for drafting Penix. As my Jets can tell you, you can have an elite defense all you want with big-name defensive players left and right. That will do you NO GOOD if you don't have a plan at QB. Kicks the sarter, yes, but what was the backup option?
heres the problem, the falcons dont have a defense to speak of. they were ranked 27th last year in the league and had the stopping ability of wet oatmeal. this was a stupid stupid move.
I had to take my emotions out of it bc originally I was pissed when they when they took Penix jr bt I also had to think they could use him as trade bait for next years draft and also Cousins is coming off a serious injury who knows he gets hit the wrong way he could be right back out bt then I started thinking pure football and I said he's definitely not gonna sit for more then 2 years which could turn out to be a good or bad thing in the long run bt they definitely should've taken a pass rusher bt to secure your qb im just saying is the hardest thing to do so if u see a guy u want go get him and that is what they did
@@Markjacobs4477 Jesse Bates is there AJ Terrell is a pretty decent corner. Grady Jarett will be back other than those three I couldn’t name you one goddamn defensive player on Atlanta.
All I'm say is about Kirk Cousins. Pay attention to what time of the day he play. 1pm he plays great. 4pm you in trouble a little bit. 830pm games he's not clutch. And his specialty. If it's a overseas game straight ballin.
I’m thinking penix is ready to go right now in the nfl. Cousins could be another aaron Roger. Gets injured on the first play of the season and out for the year. Great pick for Atl.
I saw Penix as a guy you put on a win now roster and try to make a run with the rookie contract. He’s at peak form right now, age 24, and healthy. He sits for two years I’m not sure if he’ll look the same
Kirk left them in the dark about the comments he said at his press conference, so they left his ass in the dark when they drafted Penix. An eye for an eye. I dont blame them
*FISHY SITUATION* they need to investigate whoever made that decision because i suspect *GAMBLING VEGAS INSIDER COLLUSION* . Atlanta wouldve known months back if they were drafting a rookie QB at the very least. Pennix hasnt played a game in months, so there was no grand revelation of his skills to bump him to their pick. Especially after buying a 100M QB.
How you know they won't trade for one a pass rusher...the Vikings would of done the same thing which is funny...i think kirk will he a jet jext year .. insurance nothing wrong with getting it
Lookup all the teams with less sacks than the Falcons and how many of them we lost too. Idc about Cousins feelings we tried to trade back into the first. One more thing trade down doesn’t guarantee look at Julio Jones trade down what did Cleveland get
Ironically as a Panthers fan i understand the Falcons pick. Sorry but Kirk is not seen as a ten year franchise QB. Your not signing him to be a Superbowl contender. So while hes good to make you a PLAYOFF contender hes not a real threat to make a SB. So naturally like Smith and Mahomes, you want a younger guy with a much higher ceiling who in the future can be that franchise QB who can put you over the top. Kirk is a bridge QB nothing more. Hes just mad that the Falcons didn't accept his mediocrity like the Vikings did all these years. He wants to be THE guy but he is simply A GUY, a placeholder for when the REAL franchise QB for the falcons comes along. I understand he wants that long term security but what has he done to earn that? ONE playoff win im not signing you to a 4 year deal without a backup in place.
@@JohnyX333x why the exaggeration?? It’s a 2 year deal ultimately for Kirk so Pinex could start when he’s 26…. U see how folks exaggerate and stretch shit … 30 years old 😂😂😂 say anything to help your argument
Your saying Atlanta should go all in on Taylor hinikeeee? 😅 Everyone saying that ita a horrible pick also said they wish their team got him. 😅 Raiders broncos, and now Bengals fans😅
and all of those teams had need for a QB, they did not just sign a qb to a multiyear $130 million deal like atlanta did with cousins, so either the pick was stupid or the cousins deal was stupid. personally i say BOTH were stupid.
Idk. I’ve talked myself off the ledge. This is fine. Im sure this is going to be just fine. I mean honestly we weren’t winning a Super Bowl this year if we drafted latu. And 100 ain’t that much these days dak bout to get 300 for 4 we are not in cap hell we can literally still sign whoever we want over the next 5 years. We good chill lil bro
So we didn’t draft end rushers in the next three rounds ?? Man y’all just be talking bro.. who says turner or latu will be all pros ? Or better than than ones we drafted bro ?
Grady and Onyemata weren't as dominating as they have been in the past, partly because the rest of the DL was average at best. They had a very poor pass rush, and it cost them dearly in several games last year. You could arguably say it cost them the division title. So the opportunity cost of the Penix pick was huge. They desperately needed the best edge rusher they could get. And the idea of planning to sit Penix, at 24 years old, for at least two years strikes me as crazy.
Ahhh shutup, this was a great pick, dL and edges you can get on any street corner. Wakeup and smell the coffee, you all think you what's best for a team, you don't, mgmt and the staff have their own board, they don't have to tell you what they're needs are or who they're going draft. Its none of your business
