Executive producer Brad Rau released a statement that "any new storytelling with Ventress will align with the events of Dark Disciple." So it will absolutely give some sort of explanation.

It looks like she’s still bounty hunting (or the trailer was cut that way), but the yellow do make me think something has changed. The Path probably is in its infancy, and it would be pretty incredible if she was a founding member. In her eyes she’d be sparing children from her fate as both Jedi youngling and Sith disciple.

I analyzed Ventress's scene a bit. The hilt of Ventress's lightsaber is not from Dark Discipe. It's curved like her old lightsabers. This needs to be analyzed because it could be her old lightsaber. Ventress: I wasn't planning on kill you but you making it very tempting This is someone Ventress most likely knows and doesn't necessarily like. She was a bounty hunter so she most likely saved this person and this is a flashback. (There is confirmation that this is not a retcon) And it's crazy because after a long analysis, there is only 1 character theory that fits perfectly and I don;t see any counterargument. This person is probably Barriss because she is even the only one who would need an explanation and a flashback

There are some time jumps between the bounty hunting Vos and Ventress do during Dark Disciple. I pray to the Force that this is a flashback where they perhaps had a run in with the Bad Batch and they aren't making it so that she survived. Because if she survived it doesn't matter what explanation they give it will completely turn me off the story and undermine the poignant ending of Dark Disciple. Ventress had the perfect ending.

Maybe Palpatine cloned Ventress or the Nightsisters resurrected her. All we need is one line. We don’t need a whole episode

I don’t really see that one. It took Palpatine 30 years to even make a decent (still imperfect) force sensitive clone. If he cloned Ventress to the perfect degree she appears here, almost 40 years earlier, that raises more questions than answers. (Not to mention Palpatine has wanted her dead for years so why bring her back?) From a writing perspective it’s much easier to just say she didn’t die. They threw out most of the Ahsoka novel, keeping a few things, so it’s more likely they’re doing the same with Dark Disciple. I could easily see them make a reference to her faking her death though.

@@marshsundeen she’s my favorite character actually! Oddly enough I just set up my Sideshow collectible Asajj (sorry bank account) last night and today I get this surprise. I honestly wouldn’t mind if they just somehow retcon her death. I never read the book so it won’t matter to me 😂
