The Beatles - All My Loving - Dutch TV, 1964 [Colorized]. With Jimmie Nicol on Drums.

NOTE: This is a COLORIZED video, originally B&W.
I had to use an alternate audio source because of Apple's copyright policy so this is The Ed Sullivan Miami Rehearsal audio
The original audio was them miming to the studio version of the song, so they aren't actually playing
.
.
The Beatles performed on Dutch TV in 1964 and mimmed the songs with the studio version recordings. Ringo does not appear in this performance because he was hospitalized with tonsillitis and had them removed. Jimmie Nicol was a substitute for Starr for 13 days. He was known as the "Beatle who disappeared".

I know a lot of people feel like the Beatles peaked in their later years. Maybe even in their solo careers. But for me... this will always be their best days. When you could see the joy in their faces and hear the soul in their songs.

Yep. My favorite period too. 70 now. I lined my walls with posters from 16 magazine every month - them, the DC5, Herman, Kinks lol. About 2 years from this performance they are sick of it and quit the road for good. You can see and hear it in their no longer happy mugs in the press interviews of '66. And of course when they quit the road they were no longer a "band" and it was the beginning of the end. But for me pre moustache Fabs were the BEST. 🎸

@@craniofacialsurgeon This is great standard which is a unique flower of its own bland in which they were helped by people in Parliphone ,George Martin and others...Times when they used to go through a lot of listening and checking out all those world music recordings and classical composers...Spoken by Ringo in one of the interviews back in 1980s and also I have heard it from the guy who was employee back than 1963/64 in EMI...The basis for the verse of this song comes from Tchaikovsky and his "Swans Lake" thats that haunting beauty of the melody...Chorus is Motown inspired most likely original...guitar solo by George is his own take on Chet Atkins and his hybrid technique (later on Clapton and numerous others will bring that into pop and blues). Verse Russian influence is accentuated by John Lennon and his Ricky simulating sound of balalaika (just electrical)...crescendo /vivo style as you could hear them playing like that on their journey down the great Don river... Harmony's on chorus pure Motown girls band but on the last two verses it George and Paul being influenced by Everley Brothers and Apalachan close harmony where Paul accentuates and changes vocal position twice in order to sing in more unison with George in that particular part...Bland of the right ingredients brought the new sound...not to forget Paul's melodic bass line which is probably the greatest compliment to the song itself...the biggest invention together with those loud drums...Ringo would be more on the cymbals and high hats though Nicole was heavy on the bass drum and snare and toms...Work of the genius that whole song...and they have paid homage to all those musicians back in America that were they idols or influencers but in totally new sound...

The first time I saw the Beatles was late night on the Tonight Show w/Jack Parr. I saw it with my mom waiting for my dad to come home from work. It was a pre-recorded session not here in the USA. I remember my mom and I were saying they look like girls with that hair. When they finally came here to the States on the Ed Sullivan Show, I had a Beatles (Sosh) haircut and you know what? I was in 6th grade. At the end of the year the school took us to the roller rink. They lined us up Girls on one side and Boys on the other playing the Beatles and Monkeys and when they told the girls to skate over and pick a guy to skate with, my favorite girl that I had a crush on picked me and we skated together to both the Beatles and the Monkeys. Losing John and George was a tragedy. But I'm sure with all the happiness the Beatles put into in this life there must be a wonderful place in the afterlife for such wonderful messengers of love. This is my favorite song: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-V8nLraecPRY.html
