Thanks Mike...I've always loved "Bad Boy" and "Dizzy Miss Lizzy" because of the raw Rock and Roll guitar work and John's fabulous voice. John's screams are absolutely perfect!!
love your channel Mike!!! been learning for 4 years now since i was a freshman in high school and you've helped me learn my favorite songs from the greatest band of all time!
Me Too!!! I am a senior at the moment but Mike is one of the best Beatles tutorial channels, absolutely outstanding simply! Thanks to Mike Pachelli I am being paid to play places as John Lennon in my Beatles Tribute! Mike is a great inspiration of mine.
As always, fantastic lesson Mike! It always amazes me at how good the Beatles were at playing off of one another and formulating all of those amazing compositions! Thank you so much for keeping their music alive & well! Hope that things are good in France! 👍👍👏👏
Thank you Mike!!! I can't tell you how happy I was see this breakdown. The Beatles straight up rocker of the Larry Williams classic. Your dissection of the song appears to be perfect. Back when I juvenile delinquent I was pretty sure this was the greatest song ever written. Love your vocals on the sound-alike!!!
Great job Mike, so nice to hear the Beatles old stuff and see exactly how the songs were put together, you`re our life line to the greatest band that ever lived. Thanks Mike
Nice one, Mike. In the UK, Bad Boy appeared on A Collection of Beatles Oldies (But Goldies) in 1966. It was the band's first compilation and EMI compiled it with little or no participation from the Beatles.
I've always ADORED this vocal performance by John, and I have to tell ya, Mike, that you nailed it perfectly. I have that rasp required for such a number
what a nice surprise!...this is one of my all time favourite rocker of the sixties and I always struggled with the shuffle part...thanks for the superb tutorial and and the crazy good sound a like!
Fantabulous - such a complete and compact cover! Served as a perfect sampler of their collective talents. You’ve delivered a wonderful lesson - as always appreciated.
Gresr lesson with some lovely George licks. Must admit I have never heard this one before, so thanjx fof thd introduction. As far as requests go, I'd love for you to do some of John's solo rockers. The likes of "Cold turkey" "Well well well." And one of my all time favourites. "I'm losing you"
I think you're the first to suggest that one. I sold my 12 string Rickenbacker (I hated it) but I have purchase a different 12 string electric so I'll put "If I Needed Someone" on my 'maybe' list. p.s. Please subscribe to my channel. It helps me out. Thanks!
Hey Mike. I wouldn't have the patience to sit through anyone else's how to video of this song but you have such a good time and do such a good job that I will watch yours. Must've been all those years of TV. Ha hahaha. No one gives better Beatle than you.😉👍
They recorded it as late as ‘65? I didn’t know that, but it always sounded like something they would’ve sung in Hamburg. Always loved this song, they really were a band back then before 8 track and over dubbing got in the way
1:16 I have high hopes for AI and if it could be used to improve the live Beatles recordings like the Star Club records and also Stones Liver bootleg, that would be great! 2:20 On the topic of how they always improved on an original version, as great as Buddy was, they REALLY IMPROVED Words of Love on Beatles VI.
Perfectly complete and well done as always ! Thanks , Mike . Moreover , can you explain Lennon’s obsession with Larry Williams ? As The Beatles , we got Dizzy Miss Lizzie , Bad Boy , and Slow Down . On John’s “ Rock & Roll “ solo album , he chooses to cover Boney Maronie . I agree with your statement about the quality of Beatles covers , but even Chuck and Buddy don’t get the number of songs that Larry Williams does .
The only Beatles songs I think about less than this one are "all together now", "slow down" and "matchbox" but I love your videos Mike. I always watch the fun facts to know and tell and the sound alike. I wonder what you'll do when you've done the whole catalogue?
Well - out of the 188 original songs the lads recorded - I've covered (I think) around 78. PLUS a few dozen that I did instrumentally. But I'm running out of their songs that I like well enuff to spend two weeks working on. So I most definitely won't be doing the "whole catalogue."
I haven't decided as of today. But like George Harrison said (tho' I don't believe his percentage estimate is accurate) "probably 80% of the Beatles' songs were overrated."
@@MPfrance Hi, Mike! Thanks for the nice lesson again! Good work on this standard 50’s rock (far from been an “original” Beatles let’s say!). What would be very interesting, from a master like you, is to demonstrate the precise “sauce and secrets” tone and effects used on specific songs (and their evolution). Like the guitar variations and adjustments on “I want you”, or the bass on “Hey Bulldog” (the end particularly), “Baby you’re a rich man” or “Think for yourself”. What about the drum performance on “Dear prudence”?... Anyway, I hope you’ll do a lot more songs of the 4fabs, not necessary doing the entire song replication, without questioning your talent to do so. I’m sure you can teach us others aspects of those songs that could stimulate creativity. Thanks for your attention!
You do such a great job, producing a cool product. It may not matter much but sounding like Ringo is being a little late on the snare. I've noticed it, could have been too loud in the room or some factor why that is, but it's his signature, riding his crash another. Maybe it sounded better in mono that way. Anyway, I really like your work, a huge fan.
I guess I do that because it occurs on the upbeat. It's not something I'm thinking about - just a habit. Downstrokes for down beats and vice versa. p.s. Please subscribe to my channel. It helps me out. Thanks!
