I buy a 2003 accord coupe just like yours 6-6 I felt in love as soon a see it I wind the auction beat but I find out the engine was blown I been spending a lot money and time on new engine I have buy a lot parts because I wanna be driving this great car for a long time
Sorry to hear about the engine, but glad you're fixing it up. Not a lot of these cars out there. Really cool you're giving it some love. I hope it turns out well for you!
Hello, how do you like accord 9th gen vs 10th Gen - handling and driving (taking manual shifter and engine aside)? Would appreciate your thoughts. I am looking for 9th V6 or 10th 2L, and I am not in the US so it is hard to have a test drive. Thank you
Hi! I've only ridden in a 10th gen a couple of times so I don't have much info on how they handle. I know the 1.5L engine had issues with the fuel getting into the oil on earlier 10th gens so I personally would go for a 2.0L like it sounds you're considering. I prefer the looks of the 9th gen over the 10th. My 9th handles worlds better than my 7th gen. I love my 9th gen v6.
If you register on driveaccord.net you can post it in the classified section. It's a very active site with lots of enthusiasts on there who will appreciate your car. Good luck with it.
Awesome! They're getting harder to find and I feel like people are starting to appreciate them more now. I had a guy come up to me at a gas station last night and start talking about my car. He knew what the red badge meant.
Our 7th Gen is our only high mileage one. It never had a valve adjustment on the old engine. I had the shop check them when they did the valve cover gaskets after 600k. I was told they were fine then.
👍👌 hondas forever ! I have the 2017 Honda Accord withe coupe v6 automatic beautiful car and men I love love love my car , it’s so powerful, fast , practical, runs on regular gas so you don’t have to put premium gas for me is the best car in the whole world jajajajaja 👍🙏
Awesome collection! This definitely gives me hope for my two Accords-a ‘98 V6 Sedan with 198,000 miles (first car) and my most recent purchase-an ‘04 EX-L Sedan (K24 5 Speed) with 221,000 miles. I’m 20 and very few people understand the love I have for something that’s just a midsize family car.
Congrats! People like us are holding on to them. I have a friend who visited a classic car museum and a die cast model car museum a couple of weeks ago. The people at the museum told him the classic Japanese car market is getting more attention now.
Hey man would you buy an 05 coupe V6 6 speed for $3500??? It has 164k..have a 2010 Accord Crosstour nowbut unfortunately need a new engine cause the timing belt snapped and messed up the valves :/
I picked up a ‘17 V6 Touring coupe automatic in May! It’s auto, but I got it because that’s all there was when I was looking. Traded in for a ‘20 2.0T 10-speed. Couldn’t stand all of the driver aides and tech. My 2017 is analog and loving it! Congrats on the 6-6 find!
Congrats to you too! I mostly hang out in the 7th gen forum on driveaccord.net I don't think I've heard of anyone else switching from 10th gen to 9th. I can see why though. We'll probably never see another Accord coupe produced, but it will be interesting to see how Acura makes the new Integra look.
Spent 3 weeks earlier this year trying to find a 16/17 6-6 nationwide after my 2011 V6 coupe got totaled. Had no luck so I had to settle with a 2018 TLX V6. Lucky find 👍
Thanks! I'm glad and feel fortunate I found a good one with low miles. The TLX is a really nice car. Check out Tyson Hugie's YT channel. He collects Acuras and is getting a new Type S soon.
Cool. Check out driveaccord.net if you're not already on there. I'm impressed with the power of the Earth Dreams 4cyl compared to older 4cyls. Our 01 4cyl is pretty slow.
I can’t believe the mileage on the coupe. Hope many clutches have you been through? I have an 07 sedan 6-6 (alabaster silver) and it’s the best car I’ve owned. I’m only at 188k miles.
My original clutch was changed at 320k. I replaced it with Luk brand components. That clutch is still in here and has almost 520k on it now. It doesn't slip at all, but the clutch pedal is really firm compared to having a new clutch. 837k on the car today. You've got the really rare 6-6 sedan. It's got a lot of life left in it at 188k.
My 03 accord sedan has 180k miles on it. Ive noticed the driver side is lower than the left it looks uneven could that be broken motor mounts or what it be?
The first time I changed my struts was at 320k miles in 2016. My front had sagged nearly an inch due to use and the coil springs on the struts just getting wore out. There could be other causes, but that's what happened to my car. I've had the replace the front engine mount that sits on the passenger's side of the engine compartment. The other mounts are original on mine.
Ok i see drivers side was lower so i replaced front struts and even tho height is taller the one is higher than the other. Ill take it to my mechanic thank you for replying.
Yeah, if sway bar links are uneven or damaged, it could cause one side to seem lower. This would only be noticeable if one stands close to the car though, on a level surface. I think damaged transmission mounts could also make the car lower on one side.
Hmm... who would have thought an Accord coupe would look so good in that shade of gray? ;) Very cool walkthrough. I'll be interested to see the driving experience video and get your impressions of the 9th gen from behind the wheel. Really like the door sill illumination - I think the interior illumination kit would be a nice addition. Hint, hint.
I've got this good friend with an 8th gen in this color. We could do a lineup of 6th thru 10th gens. I agree on the interior illumination kit. As long as my wife agrees, I'll get one for it. Thanks for watching!
I like the 6th gen coupe in the right background. Hopefully, if the Facebook Marketplace sellers haven't sold their cars yet, then I plan on getting one this summer. Also, even though it's a coupe, I hope the car premium insurance isn't too high. 🙏 Any tips when taking car of a Honda Accord Coupe for a beginner?
The 6th gen 4cyl engine has a timing belt that needs changed about every 100k miles. You'll want to make sure that's been done or that you get it changed. It's an expensive maintenance item on these engines. Be good about checking your oil and changing the oil and transmission fluid. Good luck. I hope you get what you want.
Great video man. I am intrigued by these V6 coupes with a 6spd. Any thoughts on the 08-12 Altima coupe? 3.5l 6spd also. Cheaper than an accord coupe, but even rarer with 3 pedals.
Thank you! I've always felt Honda and Toyota built better quality vehicles. Just my opinion. That said, I think the Altima coupe has some decent looking body lines. Have never sat or ridden in one. You're right - not many of them around. The 9th gen Accord coupe is a really fun ride. About 40hp more than my 7th gen. Very noticeable. It's all around a superior car to the 7th gen. Wish they wouldn't have killed off the v6 coupe, but glad we got the last year of that.
That has about the same miles as our 2017 did, but is quite a bit cheaper than we paid. My opinion is that's good for a low mile, hard to find car. Manual transmission cars used to sell brand new for about 1k less than auto transmission cars. Now MT cars are scarce and MT fans like us seek them out. Sellers know they're hard to come by and can charge a premium because of it.
