Why are you always down talking to these comedians or talking like someone who isn't part of the group. That makes me want to not like this video. Talking like someone who dislikes the comedy scene
Because this is funny and keeps me up to date on shit I used to care about, but then years ago gave up on because I picked up on these people being complete hacks. This man does the research so I can justify my own beliefs. It’s great to listen to on the way to or from work! Keep it up 👍
Kill Tony Blows. Dude, you gotta check out the documentary that these Canucks made about the show. It's f*cking amazing. It begins with them shooting some pool, chatting it up, ya know like real men do. Except their pool playing skills are noticeably awful. U gotta see it.
I liked Bert at one time when The Machine story was only a year or two old and I mean THE FIRST round of him telling it, which was a decade ago, not the resurgence of it that happened a few years ago. Does he claim to be a "stand-up comedian"?? I see ppl loading on to attack every Rogan related personality lately, and im suspicious I mean we all know why Joe caught hell in 2020 (election years LOL pretty obvious too. Kind of disappointing really ) over the Covid thing. It was pretty gay Nutless attack.
Gonna stick up for Bert, here. I think he just took it for granted that Joe knew for a fact that it was aimed at Bert. It's funny to think of it striking a nerve, and maybe there's some truth to that idea, but I blame Joe for stirring the pot
@@mrsarnowski Hater… It really wasn’t that bad man. Comedy is unique to everyone. We all don’t see the same things comical. Much like music, sculptures, paintings, etc. Art is individualistic. Don’t be a bigot homie.
Weird though. The last time I saw this many anti-Rogan beefs was around the time he sht all over the Covid stuff. That was also an election year, wasn't it? Beefs on Rogan, Bert, Dana White, etc...Damn you'd almost think somebody is scared of them (and yes I know their stand-up sucks, it does Lol... but still it's all pretty vicious if it's just over "bad stand-up" LOL )
@@iandbobert6368 people have known that since he started. I guess you are the one who is late to the party. JR has alwasy been a mediocre comic with a great face.
@@iandbobert6368 yeah what you said checks out but his podcast was already big. Misinformation by the news outlets actually made his podcast a global phenomenon. And also JR has not been wrong about what he said during covid.
@@calebbryson-tt3ti no, baby boomers are the generation roughly born after the war, the literal baby boom that followed it. So they're pretty old by now. Marc is Gen X
This is all due to the partisan political grift. The same folks who support Rogan platforms comedians are…. You guessed it. This is all boomer gang war larp. It’ll end soon, and the talentless hacks that have infiltrated the mainstream, will fade into the ether. Bett is the least comedian, comedian in ever.
The fact that Joe Rogan heard those comments & instantly thought of Bert Is Truly Hilarious 😂 what a way to expose your true feelings about your "friends"
Why did you put this picture in my head? I can see him kicking his tootsies, then stopping when he gets mad his friend is being talked about... like a teen girl. Lol
I’m sure he heard it from his buddy’s friend’s wife that broke the litter box story to him. Rogan can’t help himself from being a complete gossipy idiot.
Maron basically told Rogan to his face that he doesnt belong in comedy, had no right to take Mencia down, and is a cheap imitation of Bill Hicks, gotta love it!
The funny thing is that while Mark wasn't about Bert, he might as well been talking about Joe Rogan, considering how pathetic that last " special "was.😂😂😂😂😂😂
Maron roasting the shit outta this dude. Telling joe rogan to his face “that was was the burden of your Faustian bargain” in regards to fuckin fear factor is a level of shade that cannot be comprehended by the youth of today.
@@matt-jd6pu Right like I love Joe and his podcast but objectively speaking he’s not funny. Conversationally and goofing around though he’s hilarious not denying that.
Yeah totally like he is the de facto leader or something. Joe is great at having good and interesting conversations. He isn’t as good as some of the comedians he is friends with. .
@@frostbite4954 Couldn’t agree more like he talks about stand up being an “Art” but then all he does in his act is shout really loud and tell rich guy stories about the billionaires he’s friends with. Like bro nobody cares about that they just want to laugh and forget about their problems. Also not to get on a tangent but I remember when comedians would have a bit about the most random stuff and it would kill me. Like Louis CK’s bit about the Cinnabon damn near killed me when I first heard it.🤣🤣🤌🏽🤌🏽
@@WhoTFisthatguy He's not funny in any way and kills any comedic momentum in every podcast lol Half the jokes go over his head and he adds nothing funny in 3 hours of an episode. He used to be somewhat listenable before 2020 but now he steers every conversation towards politics and cancel culture. He's just an old man now.
Bert's ego is out of control. The man just stands on a stage shirtless and tells jokes. Not exactly out here saving the world. It boggles my mind when people with jobs like these go on a powertrip
I think you’re right, but about the wrong point. They are like the mumble rap of comedy but I think it’s because people don’t care so much about the specifics and care more about the emotion. That’s why comedians that speak with a comedic cadence can be successful because it works on the emotions and that is what people are after. In others words, “Burt sound funny so Burt is funny.”
I disagree with your evaluation of Kill Tony. The whole show is roasting people who are doing bad stand up comedy. Of course it relies on the people in the audience. That's the whole point of the show! It doesn't mean it's bad as a show. Comedians have good nights and bad nights, and that's usually a result of the audience reaction. Tony is funny, which is actually rare for a Joe Rogan-sphere comic. The problem with Tony now is that he thinks he's a god. His ego is destroying his reputation. Not the fact that he's bad at stand up, which he really isn't. David Lucas is a perfect example of a hyped up comedian that isn't good at comedy, not Tony, although ironically Joe AND Tony are the ones hyping him up.
I think of the first part he was talking about Chappelle. Chappelle's special last year was absolute dog shit. We saw him in person, and it was the worst show that I've ever seen… Not just comedy show, show.
@@ThatGuyRye420he tells loooooong drawn out stories and thinks he is god. i can't imagine its all that great when you want to laugh and forget your troubles for an hour or 2
@@woahblackbettybamalamno he's not. Alex Jones hated on Bill hicks when he was alive. Also it's a joke to think that tub snuck past secret service to expose Bohemian Grove for 10 inconsequential seconds. Just scrutinize what you know about that loon for a minute
Shitting on Chappelle isn't a good look tho, he's coming across as jealous. How is one of the greatest comics of this generation not deserving of whatever he gets? That's why everyone was like "It must be Bert!" 😂
25:00 onwards... when Marc says there is a price for selling out, he is talking about personal integrity. Joe misses this. When Marc suggests Joe is contributing to the dumbing down of the culture, Joe still misses his point... flash forward to Rogan being the gatekeeper of comedy with a stable/spaceship full of mostly culturally dumbed down lowest common denominator comics... Joe lowered the bar selling out, then purchased that same bar so he could be the final boss of mid tier while the culture he dumbed down eat it up... I don’t think this was some Machiavellian plan, it just happened that way, but it's definitely a cultural phenomenon to behold. To quote Joe Rogan it's "one of the most American f-ing things of all time"
Bert loves Arena tours because it gives him more odds of getting a laugh. If he had to do sets in a small room I’m sure there would be a lot more awkward moments from his jokes not hitting.
Oh damn really?...haha...I 100% agree with him no matter which one he says he was talking about but yeah, Chappelle fu**in sucks now....I hate those stupid lectures he does now. But bert is one of the least funny people ever, and idk who ever liked organs stand up...I know some people do, but I never thought he was even a little bit funny
@@AustralianOpalRocksyeah but he knows. He often calls himself a cranky bitter old man. An elitist and jealous. Not that it makes it ok; but dude is at least self aware enough to know it.
The last clip of Marc saying crowd work is something you should do only if you need to, kinda hits different cause that’s a lot of the clips you see nowadays
Mark started comedy in the 80s. These days you dont need to travel and go to radio shows to advertise your local show. You can set up a camera and show your crowdwork on social media. It gains traction. Tiktok and youtube shorts are the media now. Cant do 5 minutes for a setup and another 5 for the punchline.
Same. I never understood the hype surrounding the machine story either. You hear the story and it’s like ok cool, but not that good that you should be rich and famous and travel the world telling that mediocre made up story.
@@yewwinmcgregor4042 its the same reason that top selling music is awful. it appeals to people that only have surface level interest in the medium. berts jokes are what terribly boring, unfunny people enjoy
They’re all made up stories about his kids. Those poor girls are gonna have to live with the fall out of their attention obsessed dad for the rest of their lives
@JB-wh3we I loved my hospital not being overwhelmed. When Delta came through and all the unvaxxed Trumpsters flooded our ED and ICU the week after the 4th of July and caused other patients to die because we didn't have room, I didn't like it. Luckily, most of those Trumpsters ended up in the 6 freezer semi-trailers we had to put in our parking lot.
I started out 20 years ago laughing my ass off listening to O&A and now I am just watching and enjoying the meta commentary not even watching stand-up anymore. It's been an interesting journey.
Fear Factor being called the lowest form of comedy is crazy. Fear Factor had nothing to do with comedy, except for the fact Joe Rogan, a comedian, hosted it. Thats like saying Jeapordy is a comedy show instead of a GAME SHOW.
I’ve been an avid Rogan listener for years. It’s getting to the point to where I don’t listen anymore. Joe’s opinion on comics kills me. He talks about comedy thinking he’s a comic. Joe is in fact a hack in standup. Bert is also. I can’t do 3 seconds of Bert without wanting to suck start a Glock.
I used to listen to his podcast as well but I always cringed when he talked about comedy like it was something more important than just jokes to make people laugh. He talks like it’s the most difficult and impressive career in the world and he is not even good at it.
Yeah I listen when there’s an interesting scientist, military, and the hunters because I love to hunt. But I CANNOT watch an episode with any “comic” on it. It’s just a circle jerk telling all the same stories EVERY SINGLE TIME! it’s ridiculously redundant.
Same. I get excited about interesting guests, then get disappointed when Joe dominates the conversation and ends up telling one or all of the same 6 stories. I understand Joe's perspective that he's just having conversations with interesting people without a gameplan, but when you have 3000 conversations you need to keep things fresh with planned topics to discuss that are not where you split your time growing up, etc.
Its cringe as fuck when he talks about comedy like he knows what he is talking about especially when he sniffs his own farts thinking he is in anyway goodor belongs on the list of talented comics 😂
The dichotomy of bert is that he DOES have fans. But his fans are teenagers or they're people who JUST got into comedy. Bert is is like Taylor swift. Yes, shes a musician, and yes, she's renouned worldwide. But what music nerd gives a fuck about Taylor swift, other than redbar
Apparently, 1.3 BILLION DOLLARS worth of "music nerds" in 2024 gave a F. Dumb question. Try again. Marc is a washed up has been that HATES to see others succeed/ thrive.
“ i’m not a hack, I am a real funny, standup comedian “ he must tell himself this diatribe in the mirror every day so he doesn’t have a mental breakdown
Yeah, even adults have stupid and pointless spats. Odds go way up when it's about something that is clearly important to all of them. That's how life works sometimes. But I agree, it's dumb lol.
Mike David's comment about Bert being confused that every time anyone shouts "The Machine!" Bert thinks they want him to retell the same bit for the past decade was on point.
I like Rogan; the podcast, the sports commentary, but his stand-up isn't my thing. I also never understood how he got to appoint himself Sheriff of the Comedy Police
Rogan had a much much more loyal fanbase before the Spotify money. His whole vibe back then seemed humble and he had integrity. He's almost completely lost that vibe now, so ppl are happy to turn on him.
Eh, it's not that serious. I can understand why people would pay to see Chappelle just doing off the cuff shit if you're a fan of his stuff. It's like, I would like to see a band that I like just jamming out. I don't know why that would be turned into a Netflix special or why anyone would like to see it that way, though.
@@itsfine5818 true, I dont like his whole trans diatribe, it's just no comedy material, his last special was abysmal, and if I lived close to where he ever came to do a show I would absolutely pay to see him and enjoy myself.
He says a "certain echelon" meaning comics of certain height. Height that's far above Bert lol. At least that's how I interpreted it. Though I don't think Sandler was drunk, if you didn't know his comedy you would assume he was. His new special is kind of hard to get through.
I was about to comment the same. I think "echelon" just refers to comics that can sell. The "Drunk Rambling" definitely excludes Chapelle in my opinion. Marc is back peddling
marc maron is a super hater tho. him crying that rogan found a job he didn't like is hilarious. mf every one of your fans has a job they don't like because they gotta pay the bills. can't everybody live in a car and pretend they are some kind of artist. you tell jokes, calm down.
The saddest thing is the JRE episode with Marc Maron is one of the best there is and it’s been taken down. Perhaps because Marc has actual experience with Sam Kinison that Joe can only dream of…
I miss when comics had drama and we didn't know anything about it. Now we have this sub genre of podcast breakdowns and analyses of every minute detail of everything and it's honestly exhausting at this point. Just give me a strong standup set. Idgaf about the rest of it tbh.
It is all to distract. The internet was invented to connect people and in a sense that happened. The problem with humanity is we tend to do a lot of things to distract us on our own lives. That what tv was for the longest. Now it is RU-vid and podcasting. These staged or fake drama making more of something then it actually is and trying to make it more interesting. Lying to you self like it really happened.
Mark was definitely vaguely talking about drunk sloppy Bart and also Chappelle doing these Tedtalk specials and both making millions from such little effort now
@@invertedaura1986 No, He's saying Dave's new brand of comedy or better yet his style of delivery. Is more like a Ted Talk than a Comedy Special. If you look at the contrast of his specials over the years you'll notice the change.
I've been saying that about Chappelle for years. The guy had one pretty decent special in 2000, then goes on to do Chapelle show which people forget or don't realize Neil Brennan and Charlie Murphy both had a huge part in writing....then goes AWOL and comes back after a decade acting like some profound culture Messiah. Dude hasn't said anything funny in 20 years, and is contemporarily regarded as one of the greatest living comedians? What?
I thought that Joe was just trying to save a guy's brain by telling Schaub to quit fighting. It's not on Joe if then that guy goes on to suck ash at comedy
