This is a huge coincidence wow, I think that might be the same iPod that belongs to my aunt Yoko. Take it with a grain of salt but I remember seeing something like that when I was very young although the text was sort of worded differently (I was a kid so I can’t verify properly). She got married to my blood related uncle Hiromu, and yes, they still are (despite all the failing marriage jokes). They were clearing out random things and they gave away some toys they had around since I collect toys and sold some other things like unnecessary clothes and tableware. I’m not sure where, how or exactly what they sold besides what I was told so I’m not sure if an iPod was there. The next time I see her (which might be a while since I’m in Canada), I’ll ask her, I’ll also ask my mother if I could get in contact with her. Edit: she confirmed. She actually gave the iPod to someone way before she startled selling off her items. She recognizes the look and the text at the back. Yoko gave it to a friend that she doesn’t talk to anymore, who might’ve sold it somewhere like eBay. So yeah, you now have a item that once belonged to a family member of mines. For some reason I feel honoured...
@@pompomaddons um please forgive me about this question but ive seen this alot recently and do Koreans hate the Japanese and please forgive me for asking this
@@zahyper5695 i don't know if it's true or not but maybe japanese hate korean because they kinda help/forced to help mongol take over japanese long time ago but they didn't make it to the main island of Japan Because of the storm and then they believe that Japan was protected by god when in reality it's just a Storm that crashes their ship
@@turkeygobblegod mostly joking. But Dyslexia is a learning disability that makes spelling and gramma challenging, so constantly getting messages that I made a trivial mistake is annoying.
in japan stuff is really well taken care of cause children are taught that every object has a soul, resulting in even the old stuff being in near perfect condition
There's a poetic beauty to the fact that something that came into your hands because of someone's shattered marriage is now bringing us so much love after all this time. I love that
I don’t know if someone already posted this but, in order to reset this model (as well as the 1st and 3rd gen) is “menu + play”. Disk mode is “rew + fwd” and diagnose mode is “rew + fwd + select”. Btw, this is probably the most valuable 2nd gen find on ebay, ever. The box, all the accessories and the freaking warranty card, unbelievable! Also worth to mention , this device is from the era when brands were understating the capabilities of their products. The official rating of the battery for this model is 10 hours. Not even to mention the battery in this freaking thing is 18 years old, 18 years, i mean, in some parts of the world can even have a beer giving its age.
i love this video so much. just everything- the surprise that you got EVERYTHING for so cheap, and the weird hilarity that is knowing that yokos marriage was torched another fantastic video, and im glad to revisit such a classic ^^
Love the spontaneous narration. You're certifiable. Great content. Just ordered an iPod Touch from eBay for $29 USD or so, thanks to you. Neither my Classic or iPod Touch will synch with iTunes any longer and I have a ton of new cuts and playlists. I hope it's not a nugget
@@hsc894 but, copper has more practical uses, such as; Rocket engines A heat conductor. And a electric conductor. But it still would not be as practical if it wasn’t for gold.
@@machy8515 Pretttttty sure that term was comparing their value in weight, not their usability... I mean, tell me, what would cost you more: a pound of copper or a pound of pure gold?
That’s a legendary find for $45. It’s amazing how everything literally there including the original wire wire cable which I’ve never even seen until now. Great find. All thanks to Yoko.
@@unliving_ball_of_gas I meant value, it is a worse phone and less people will willingly buy it to collect, but the seller can sell it at the same price of a non engraved one anyways.
@Benjamin gammer that's not how colectionism works. Original (out of box)=maximum value Damaged=lost of value depending on how and wich parts needed to be reconstructed/replaced Broken=minimum value (you can normally buy around 78 of broken intact objects for the same price as an original) Engraved=loss of value because it isn't intact and if replaced the production numbers would be odd, basically making it around as valuable as one that was damaged and restored.
That's why i love his stuff, listening to people who truly enjoy their hobbies put a smile on my face, the lack of sponsored ads are a plus, (like they raycon thing) it increases his credibility
That's Japan for you. I've ordered a so called "damaged box" model kit on Mandarake before for less than half the original price. When I received it the box "damage" was just a very small tear on the corner. It was so so totally worth it!
Maybe its a cultural thing? Like they will just tell you blatantly how it is compared to like idk america and uk where they big it up even though its a pile of shit just to sell it. Uk : "amazing eroma, with some issues but is worth jt" Japan : "its just shit?"
Nostalgia! I never had a gen 1, but I got my first iPod in 2004 I believe, and I put it in a leather case the day it was purchased and it has never ever left that case...almost 20 years later. Its absolutely mint with zero scratches. Still works!
Australia's where the use the us plug but then they angle it so its weird most travel adapters have a US plug but you can turn them into Australian ones wierd
Honestly it is kinda funny that the entire world agreed electricity is a great thing and then when it came to figuring out how to plug things in the agreement stopped there
“Remains of a shattered marriage, what more could you want!” 😂 “This isn’t working out, just like Yoko’s marriage!” These are the words of the wise lol
This is like $30 USD, assuming Dank didn't already convert for us. Working perfect condition Gen 2s go for something like $300 USD. What an insane find.
It puts a huge smile on my face to actually hear an Apple user admit "The worst products are made by the biggest richest companies." Usually Apple users are to embarrassed about how much they spent on the garbage that they'll lie through their teeth instead of admitting defeat and looking like a fool. Thank you so much for that comment. It made my day. :-)
@@justinhamilton8647 Why are you being such a downer? It's quite refreshing to hear an Apple user honestly say how bad their products are, and you come around trying to start trouble. Can't you just let people be happy that the truth is being spoken? You may not care, but most people care a lot.
Wow, October 22nd, 2002 was three days before my parents finalised their divorce. AND yes, that was a happy moment. Since my dad destroyed my mother in that divorce. She deserved it.
