You mentioned moss. Popular foliage where I fish. Any tips for ponds covered in moss? How do bass behave in moss? Moss usually cakes my lure and renders it useless. Any help you can provide is appreciated.

First thanks for watching and the comment. Greatly appreciate the support. First I would start off by saying fishing moss can be difficult. There is a pond I fish that is pretty bad with moss and hydrilla. You have to go in fishing with the mindset that line and lures are going to covered with that stuff. No big deal. Don't want to get frustrated in the first hour and pack up and leave. If it's me I would only fish 2 lures hollow body frog and zoom paddle frog. Zoom paddle frog might get caught up in the moss. Worth the try or just stick with the hollow body frog. My favorite is www.academy.com/p/h2ox-hollow-body-frog-lure?sku=black-02 pretty cheap and works great for moss. Or if you like another brand go with any other hollow body frog. From there I would fish the whole pond. What I mean by that I'm starting to cast from right working my way to my left. That includes straight out. Pretty much a half circle. Then I move down the bank and start the process again casting to my right down the bank and continue making cast till I get to my left side down the bank. By the time I'm done I've fished the whole pond. Fish can be anywhere under top water vegetation. There can be a small section broke off or just by itself 40 feet of the bank that bass will be in. Never really know where they will be until you start to fish the whole pond. Since you are only using one lure you can take your time and really work it with the frog and smash them. Moss and algae are great for bass since they can use it as ambush spots. They go in that stuff just waiting for bait fish to come by. I always enjoyed fishing moss or algae because you they are in that stuff just need to work that lure over it. I get a lot of hits towards the middle of the ponds especially when it starts to get hot. If it's completely covered then just stick with a frog. If there are holes or openings in the moss make sure to bring that frog over those. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions. Let me know

Thanks for answering my comment. I've been studying getting a hollow frog, thanks for the link. Thought about dragging a worm gently across the top. Had a former pro tell me about that one. Used a buzzbait on a "sucker hole", aviation term, in the moss and got one to hit it. Now that I know they are down there, I can work it. By the way, I like your energy when you catch big ones.

Thanks for responding back. Really not sure about a worm especially if the moss is thick. I would say I want something more heavy making movement on the moss to attract the bass. Just my thought. I personally believe a hollow body frog is the way to go. Nice job with the buzzbait :) Some times if there is enough gaps in the stuff you can work a chatterbait or something like that through it. Thanks again for all your support.
