Always good stuff my man! Glad you got on a few. You'll get a giant out of there eventually! Thank you for sharing and I hope you have a great weekend buddy!
Thanks my friend. Hopefully once the heat calms down and we get into fall things will get better out there. Hope your weekend is a great one. Appreciate the support
Thanks for watching and the comment. Greatly appreciate it Congratulations on your PB. That is super awesome and thanks for sharing it. Happy for you. That is pretty much the only color I use for wacky worm. Always seems to work.
Thanks for watching and the comment. Baitcast reel. Using the reel brake adjustment to get the right tension so I don't get a ton of bird nests. I would prefer spinning reel but typically I only take two reels and both are baitcast. Years ago it was only spinning reel for weightless worms. Started to go back to spinning reel because it is so much better. 3/0 worm hook and use Berkley 7 in power worm. Thanks again for the comment
I concur with flippinkickz, it's one thing to use a gas operated weed trimmer, or hand-held trimmers, but when you start spraying herbicides near water, even if you have done your homework, and you do, it can cause issues not thought of in the original plan. Also, and this is my situation, I fish other peoples ponds. A simple attempt at removing two annoying tree limbs, hand saw size, not chainsaw size, got me a resounding "don't do that" reply to my text to the owner. Something I thought wouldn't even be noticed, was an issue. Always ask first. Nothing you weren't aware of already, but maybe a helpful hint to a supporter who's getting tired of wading through high grass and blackberry bushes to get to a fishing spot
Thanks for watching and the detailed comment. Greatly appreciate it. Couldn't agree with you more. Never sprayed around a pond that I didn't get approval before hand., Even cutting small tree's or bushes I always ask first. Never want to ruin an opportunity somebody gives to letting you fish there pond. Never a good thing. Thanks again for all the support
Me again. The big blue K. You just taught me something else. As you said, wacky uses an exposed hook. Dragging it across a submerged log is asking, in my case begging, for trouble. What you eluded to was use of a wacky rig in a flipping technique. I just found a way to fish a downed tree in my favorite pond. I will get on the tree, then jig fish the worm in amongst the labyrinth of limbs. Lift, relax, let it fall. Worth a try. Thanks GID. 😊
Thanks for watching and another great comment. Truly enjoy reading them. Sounds like you are just cooking this summer. That's how I like to use the wacky worm. Lift and drop and wait because you are going to get bites. Thanks again for the support my friend.
Hello. Used this one from two months ago because I have a line story to share and you may want to mention this in a future post. Or not. Fished this evening and didn't get so much as a wave at my topwater frog for over two hours. Nothing. Pond was dead. Almost dark, last cast, literally, threw into a shallow area near where it spills out into a brook, frog hits the water, first wiggle, SPLASH. My one and only bite, from my one and only interested fish, waited a split second, then cracked the whip. I use Suffix 832 low vis line. 65lb test which is 17 in monofil. I have to cut that stuff to get free from snags. Or, I can just pull the tree to me, not kidding, I have actually used the line to pull the tree float the log to me. This stuff is solid. Until it gets a bad spot. Back to the movie. Cracked the whip, and snap......clean break. Fish got away, got my frog, only bite all night, gone in a split second. Even cable breaks if it has a flaw in it. Always inspect your line before you go. Hook your bait to something solid, spool the line out to the end. Go back and walk the line so to speak. Run it across your hands and look at it. Make sure there isn't a break waiting to happen between eyelet four and five....like mine.
Thanks for another great comment. Just love reading them. Your comments are awesome and entertaining. Thanks for sharing them with us. I hear you loud and clear once in a great while there will be a flaw in my line and I'll say to myself no worries it will last today and bam. A bass breaks it off. So true my friend check your line.
Be careful dude. Unless it’s private owned(some states still don’t care), most if not all states require State Certified professionals or applicator license to apply herbicides, algaecides, etc. Big fine in most states if caught without license.
Thanks for watching and the comment. Yes thanks for the advice. I would never spray any type of weed killer on public property or advocate that. Trust me I wouldn't want to get fined or go to jail. Thanks for looking out. Greatly appreciate it
Thanks for the tip! You're right, most hooks are ridiculously priced now days. I have some old ones in my tackle box with the price tag still on them which was 50 cents.
Thanks for watching and the awesome comment. Greatly appreciate it. They are really just as good as any other brand out there. It's just so crazy these days how price for everything keeps going up and up. Thanks again
When I use frog lure on bass I cast by round pad on top water they leap on knowing bass will be waiting for them make jump into water try swim to other side of soreline .I reel it in then stop give it gentle tug make it look frog doing power stoke then reel little bit more.then let sit usually just as I start reel they attack it right off I hook them every time .some method for frog work differently for others how they fish fir bass with frog.also diffent color frogs play role to.
Thanks for watching and the comment. Greatly appreciate it. Great context in your comment. Thanks for sharing your technique. Always enjoy hearing other people's methods. Thanks again.
Thanks for watching and the comment. Greatly appreciate it. No I don't use those. My go to for soft baits is Berkley Power worm. For me it never fails me. Have you had a lot of success with the hellgrammites. What's your setup. Thanks again
Sorry, I forgot that the last time I used it I did use a 1/10 jig head , so it wasn't totally weightless. Caught several bass in a boat slip fishing it that way.
@@GettingitDoneFishing you know, I stick with what I like. It’s a line thru treble head 1/8oz from 6th sense on a 2.8 kitech fat swing impact. I catch my 2 and come home. I went off shore out of Panama City last weekend and we caught about 400lbs of snapper and grouper. I caught a 20 pound red snapper (slow pitch jigging). Thank you for asking!
holy cow a 20 pounder snapper. That's awesome. Did you keep it and eat it. I heard they are really good to eat. Never had one. Sounds like some good fishing to me. All I have by me is bass, trout and catfish. Happy 4th of July
I’m out in the middle of nowhere in Weat virgina and I am fishing for smallies so my line is not strong, I was using a micro rattle trap and hooked onto a 20+ pound musky it ran and jumped and broke my line I was so happy that I even hooked it, I even caught my first rock bass aswell
Thanks for the continued support. Thanks for sharing your fishing adventure. Always enjoy hearing about them. Holy cow that's awesome about the musky. I know they can get big. Congratulations on the rock bass. Keep the lines tight my friend
I went last night and actually listened to the video on the way home. Don't worry, my phone was in the passengers seat and I was listening, not watching. You mentioned anything that blocks sunlight. The water I was fishing is shallow, lakes down a lot, but it's stained. Evidently, correct me if I'm wrong, wet tree limbs, the ones I step on and trip over when I am wading, leach some sort of decay that keeps the water murky and dark brown. But it has no affect on the Bass ability to find the lure. I got to the lake that morning at 7, cloudy, cool, 70 degrees, sun wasn't over the hill yet, and I caught two nice bass right off on a buzzbait. Caught two more then switched to a 7 inch worm. Caught two little ones. Went back at 7 pm last night, caught 12. 8 on the buzz, 4 on the worm. I fish the hottest part of the day in my living room under air conditioning. Feeding schedules, full moons, and presentation are not a factor. It's coolest in the early mornings, not so hot you can't breath in the evenings, and it's getting dark, so I just power buzz spots, then slow down and power worm them. And as you said, big worms, bigger bass. They're lethargic, they got to eat, and the bigger the prize the quicker the reward, the less work he has to do to keep his belly full.
Thanks for another great comment. Love the detail you go through Thanks for all the support You are so right. If you can find a pond or lake that doesn't get much sun even better fishing in the summer. Typically for me the ponds I fish get a lot of sun most of the day. Seems like you are really locked in this summer. That's super awesome. Keep getting them. Love to fish a buzzbait. One of the best top water lures. Keep at. Thanks again
Thanks for more good tips! You share lots of small details that can make a big difference. Appreciate your willingness to share and help others. Keep gettin after em!
Thanks for the great content! Question: I fish really shallow ponds, 2 feet at the deepest. Would you still recommend 1/2 oz. chatter bait or swim jig? Thanks again!
Thanks for watching and the support. Greatly appreciate it. I would still go with 1/2 oz for both. That weight gives you the best vibration when slowing down your retrieval to keep it towards the bottom or bumping it against the bottom. You really don't want to rip them or keep either one close to the surface. The lighter weight ones have a tendency to rise in the water column. With fishing that type of depth 1/2 is perfect. Let it sink to the bottom and slowly retrieve it in. Hope this helps. Good Luck
