🚫 So if anyone knows anything about RU-vid and why they block certain channels I’d appreciate some advice!! Just spent a day putting together a reaction to HELP only to have it blocked!! So many channels have used the video and I don’t understand why I can’t!! Anyone got any advice! Such a shame - it’s a really nice video 🚫

Not a one hit wonder in Australia. He is the G.O.A.T. Numerous hits, sell out concerts over the decades. A lovely man who is cherished by Australians. He was even made Australian of the Year once. He might not be known around the world but he is known in the music world. He gets songs from around the world whenever he produces another album and has sung with some greats like Tom Jones, Celine Deon, Ray Charles. He is in his 70's now and fighting cancer. John chose to live and stay in Australia rather than travel around the world without his wife and sons. He is MASSIVE here. Adored by the whole country. He is an astounding human being and we still adore him. He must turned 74 is battling cancer of the jaw. We are all praying for him and his family. Please find the live version of John's version of the Beatles HELP Lennon told him it was how he wanted it sung but producers decided it has to be their way.

John may only have had one UK hit, but he's had dozens and dozens of hits in Australia since 1967. He's an absolute vocal superstar, but very humble, and Aussies are proud of him. He performed until 2019, and still sang incredibly well even at the age of 69-70. Then came the pandemic, the death of his long time manager & best friend, and a major cancer operation last year. I doubt we'll hear him sing again - but what a legacy he's left!

He didn't write it. Three of your countrymen wrote it. It was John's idea to put the Bagpipes in. It was supposed to be a guitar solo. John last sang this song pitch perfect same key Feb 2020 Fire Fight Australia Concert at the age of 70. It was also the last live performance of the late great Dame Olivia Newton-John.

John is the G.O.A.T. He has so many hits in Australia; John is a family man and wasn't prepared to leave them to enable world wide success; he was happy to stay home and entertain the pants off all the lucky Aussies who love him to bits. All of his songs performed LIVE are brilliant, especially the ones with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra; A couple to try: Help! (John's version of the Beatles hit) It's a Long Way to the Top (if you want to rock and roll) AC/DC cover; but whatever he sings he makes it his own, and, he always gives 100% plus to his audience, band, backup singers and orchestra. I could go on and on, anything he sings is great! John just turned 74 on the 1st July, sadly he had a serious operation for jaw cancer late last year and is still recovering - a long road ahead. Prior to that he was still singing You're the Voice, when he was 70 and not missing a note. I have seen him in concert a few times over his career and was always blown away by his performance and entertainment skills, the last time I saw him live was for a fundraiser in 2019, (he still had it) this was one of the many funds he supported - held to help farmers during extremely hard times. He can sing any genre; try listening to him with Anthony Warlow (an amazing Aussie Opera singer) and their performance of Granada; a wonderful, perfect performance with some humour thrown in. Then, on the other end of the spectrum; John's sound check of Led Zeppelin's Black Dog (audio only, unfortunately). You will be down this rabbit hole for a long time; and enjoying every minute of it in my opinion. I recommend you listen to the end of all of the recordings, he usually thanks everyone and is a wonderful, caring human being.

Yeah You’re The Voice is universal within it meaning it’s up to the listener interpretation . John sadly last year was diagnosed with mouth cancer and he had 12 hour operation remove the tumour from his jaw . He is now in recovery and keeping low profile . John has been somewhat semi retirement since 2003 with longer time span between albums with less original material more covers and performing at smaller venues only returning to areas with joint performances with friend the late Olivia Newton John , Tom Jones , Lionel Richie and Stevie Nick . Yeah 1 hit wonder in UK but in Australia different story John Farnham is regarded as a legend . He has out sold all the biggest international names within Australia like The Beatles , Elton John , Bruce Springsteen and Michael Jackson . John’s Whispering Jack album in 1986 that featured You’re The Voice was the first album within Australia to sell 1 million copies and over , Whispering Jack remains the highest selling Australian album within Australia . Other John Farnham songs to react to . * Help ( Beatles cover ) 1980 John rearranged Help to a more serious meaningful version than the original Beatle ish pop version. 1988 John toured with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra this live version is just pure vocal excellence . * Age Of Reason 1988 Like You’re The Voice , Age Of Reason has very strong lyrical message . It’s John 2nd biggest hit after You’re The Voice staying at number 1 for over a month and also one John’s favourites . * When Something Is Wrong With My Baby ( with Jimmy Barnes ) 1991 This Sam & Dave cover was recorded for Jimmy Barnes soul music tribute album Soul Deep . * Burn For You 1990 A John wrote a simple song about missing his wife while on tour . It’s beautiful * Playing To Win 1984 Originally recorded and released while John was the frontman of once hugely successful Australian band Little River Band . Playing To Win is John’s signature LRB song and it’s only LRB song that remained in his solo set list at every concert since he left the band in 1986 . Playing To Win wasn’t a hit at the time of release but has gained popularity as a sporting anthem .

The story behind this song is that some people in England intended to go to an anti-nuclear demonstration, accidently slept in and missed it and wrote , 'You're The Voice' as compensation. John got hold of it, asked permission to sing it and was denied. The reason why was that the writers had heard the first song with which John gained popularity. That was a silly, novelty song, chosen by his then manager, and they were not impressed. That song was called, 'Sadie'. They didn't believe he could sing their song well. John recorded it anyway , the writers heard it, and agreed that John was the singer for their song. 'You're The Voice' was a hit in Australia and a number of other countries. (Sadie was his blessing and curse!) Since then John Farnham has had many top hit records, albums and awards over six decades in the music business. His concerts are big and sell out many times over. He has a wide vocal range and sings in over 20 genres. John's interpretation of songs is wonderful and he is a charismatic and consummate showman, having a fantastic rapport with his audiences. Two books have been written about John and a documentary film about his life has recently been released.. We Aussies hope that you react to more of him. ALWAYS choose live concerts where his Soul shines. He is well-loved in Oz.

I heard it was written by someone from Manfred Man. John found the song two weeks before Whispering Jack was completed and knew straight away that it needed to be on the album. John's prodiucer wasn't impressed by the finished product but John asked to give it one more go. He ramped up the power big time and magic was created.

Farnsey was not a "one hit wonder". He has had a very successful career spanning 50yrs. He CHOSE not to become international as he didn't want to be away from his family. Queen asked him to replace Freddie & he said NO! Please re-react to this song live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Orchestra (all reactors are using this version) AND "Help" at the same concert. Rendition of The Beatles song that even John Lennon said was how it should have been sung before he died. So much to see of his career, "Burn for You" A stunning ballad. "When Something is Wrong with my Baby with another Aussie artist "Jimmy Barnes" from Cold Chisel. Both are royalty here. "The Voice" Farnsey can sing any note, any genre, every vowel like no other. He still has the best selling album of all time. Check him out warming his voice up to a concert singing "Black Dog" in a Soundcheck (audio available only) & "Long Way to the top if you want to rock & roll". Also, the lead in "Jesus Christ Superstar" (still Australia's best selling musical of all time) w other Aussie greats. He has other anthems like "That's Freedom". Duet with Olivia Newton John "Please Don't Ask Me". "When the war is over" live around the same era is the best. Currently fighting cancer at 73 & after getting part of his jaw removed we'll likely never hear him sing live again 😭😭 Cold Chisel is the best selling band of all time too. Our music industry is tight. Jimmy Barnes doing ""Stone Cold" with an American guitarist in a US Studio is incredible too. He still gets around today but as per that recording has still got it, even after years of alcohol abuse that he says has affected his voice over time.

One hit wonder in England and probably the USA but a legend amongst American , British and European superstar singers and musicians.

Oh yes a one hit wonder...😂 who has been at the top of the Australian Charts for 7 decades. Just a shame it didnt translate to other parts of the world. I did enjoy your analysis of his voice though. Very informative. Some interesting facts about John for you. He has has number ONE hit songs and albums in six consecutive decades starting in 1967 through to 2016... and just had a number 2 album released this year 2023... Making 7 years of top charting music. The UK and the resr of the world missed out on one of the best vocalists ever to grace this earth. In the 60'sand 70's he was a teen pop idol and King of Pop in Aus for 5 Consecutive years with screaming fans following him around reminiscent of Beatles Mania at the time. (apparently, in these early days, the british record producers didn't want to take him on as apparently they didnt need 2 Cliff Richards battling it out in the charts. ..In the 80's he was Lead Singer of the Little River Band and toured extensively in the USA. He hated touring and missed his family and the dynamic of the group was floundering so he came back to Aus. He hit his straps as a 38yo in 86 with his 26x platinum album Whispering Jack (with You’re the Voice as the lead single) and since then just about every album he realease has entered the charts at number one or number two. I think the lowest has been at 4. He released many albums and sold out huge concerts over the next 30 years and has remained Australias most beloved singer of all time. To understand just how good he is here are a few performances to get you started....hopefully you will delve into some more of his legendary career... First check out a young 20 year old Johnny with his version of ONE from 1969 m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e06hBcBp8T8.html Reminiscing with LRB from 1982. m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NspIOkh9EVc.html HELP live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dv54giOSRKs.html Playing to Win 1990 Chain reaction concert m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aaeKsidYfVk.html When the War is over 2003 concert at 54yo and probably one of his best ever vocals. m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BekbvlLzMWc.html Not to mention he was still cranking out most of his songs in the exact same key well into hIs 60's and 70's. Celine Dion is a long time fan of John, and she often does this song in her concerts, when she did it on a tour here in Oz a few years ago she asked him to go on and sing it with here, during that performance she paid homage to him. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6bu-Ff9Ka6w.html John's version of the Beatles classic "Help" is a slowed down more emotional version which he released in 1980, around that time Tina Turner was working down Under filming promotional video's for Rugby League, she must have liked John's version because she recorded a cover version of it, while i am a big fan of Tina I don't think her version packs as much power as John's. Another performance I would like to see you react to is a duet with Olivia Newton John performing "Please don't ask me" during the Main Event Concert. The bagpipes are an homage to AC/DC, John's Favourite band, and 'Long Way to the Top'. The flat footed singing thing is a good spot, because in his latter years (mid 60s or so) there's a very definite thinning of the voice, and leg thrust to help him hit those upper notes. John's probably an interesting case study, there aren't many other artists who have such a readily available collection of high quality performances of the same song performed over multiple decades - to see how a voice evolves with age and a song is adjusted to cater. There are lots of parochial fans who will claim he sounds the same as he ever has, which is objectively false but it's still outstanding. The most recent one was for firefight Australia, with Bryian May (although the recording audio quality is fairly poor in this one). Probably the best quality semi recent performance was the 2016 ARIA awards, when he was 67. The leg lift is pretty clear here, or a couple years later performing with Celine Dion. The 2003 ARIA awards was for me the best performance. A couple years prior to that he performed it with Cold Play, and there are numerous performances in the 90's to choose from.

Wow!! Thanks for that answer - loved it 😊 yes every voice changes over time it just does no matter how much you take care of it it just evolves and that’s to be expected but I think some die hard fans of any artist can take it a bit personally which I’ve never understood - I love that voices change over time but maybe I’m not in the majority ✌️ Thanks for the suggestions … I will defo check out more of John very soon! ✌️ Oh p.s I love the fact about AC/DC thanks 🙏

I did do it but it got blocked by RU-vid!! I don’t know why I’ve seen other channels use it but I can’t 🥹 I blurred it out chopped it up and everything but it won’t go through - I was gutted it was a really nice video aswell ✌️

@@massimomontagna7242 ahh thank you for saying that! I appreciate it ✌️ Yes I can get the Whispering Jack version through which is completely amazing too but there’s something about the Melbourne concert that just spoke to me a little more - oh well 🤷‍♂️ I’ll keep trying ✌️

I don't think that there's any Australian that will disagree that John has a great set of pipes... But some of the earlier songs in his career are enough to make any genuine lover of music cringe... I'm talking about early hits, for John, like *"Raindrops keep falling on my head"* and *"Sadie; the cleaning lady"*

Haha ahh well maybe I’ll stay away from them then 😂
