Thank you so much for this tip! The whole seeds pack is AMAZING! I am not traditionally musically trained and I love how these devices can get me to interesting harmonic stuff so organically and intuitively and I even think I am beginning to understand the theory behind the chord progressions and harmonies a little bit more after using these lovely devices. Such a great value for a pretty little money. I don't understand how Novel music doesn't have a bigger following here on YT.

This video inspired me to pull out the Probability Pack devices and have some fun. I grouped three instances of Melodic Probability along with an instance of Step Divider in a rack before a wavetable and got some pretty wild sequences going! I am eternally grateful for all the inspiration!

This sounds brilliant, I've been looking for generative tools to get closer to a modular vibe. That's a big part of what I love about your album Identity Mitosis, which is absolutely brilliant! Figured there was a lot of modular stuff going on in there...

Amazing tutorial. Was missing this from the dev. The locking is great, but you should still record all as midi data or set a simple recorder on the channel or master. Recording these try out sessions as audio is always a good idea. Recording audio and move forward from there is so great.

So many interesintg and exciting Max devices coming out. People rave about Bitwigs Grid but can you imagine trying to build something like this yourself in Grid? You'd never get around to making any music.

I debated this for a long time but after watching the video on Polymath made by the creator I bought it earlier today. I've made more interesting musical ideas in the last few hours than I have all year. It's worth every penny as far as I'm concerned and whilst I think this video is a good overview I would suggest watching the creator's content.

After watching this video, & visiting their website. In my opinion, If you buy the seeds bundle along with the other three plugins they sell separately. You will have an arpeggiator on steroids🤣😂 I'm sold, now to put scaler 2 alongside it (Maybe)

@saintmoz
@saintmoz 2 года назад
@@SeedtoStage It has real eurorack vibes, I’d love to get into eurorack it’s just to pricey for me. Nest and polymath allow me to sequence in a modular way, without fully diving into the eurorack hardware.
@arturanowak
@arturanowak 2 года назад
I was very tempted to buy Nest, but I decided not to, because it's yet another (lovely) rabbit hole :-) Polymath on the other hand is quite straight forward, deep, but not too deep and too open. I think it will keep me focused on playing music instead of endless patching. After getting familiar with other devices in the SEEDS suite, I find Model even more interesting, it's basically Polymath that plays sequences (arps) of your input MIDI notes. So, instead of having two chords and switching/sliding between them, I can feed any chords to Model and have much more complex harmonic structure over time. Or, use another tool (Scaler?) to generate chord progressions that Model will sequence and produce rhythms with it.
@saintmoz
@saintmoz 2 года назад
@@arturanowak I love both Seeds and Nest, yes they are different, but are very useful tools. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, but what I learn one I can take and use in the other as a spark of inspiration.

You can use Chronology and/or Polymath on drums! If you are using Polymath, just select one of the "user" scales and add all 12 notes so you can trigger an entire drum rack.

Honestly, I'm pissed Ableton doesn't offer like 5 different sequencers in its software. Its piano roll is a giant clunk compared to Logic and Reason. Why can't Ableton at LEAST have Reason's matrix included, which is so fast moving compared to their stupid piano roll. I don't need randomness. I need a sequencer which DOES NOT SUCK and is QUICK TO WORK.
