For that money, they should have built that trigger pack with an auto bolt stop and a semi extended mag release as most people would want in a trigger housing for the 10/22.
@@22plinkster You should make that video! A lot of us enjoy the Paul Harrell "Boring" stuff and instead of fast forwarding, we're all right here begging to see that 22 collection Sir!
Plinkster, so cool that there’s a .22 Plinkster version of this trigger! Along with CCI having Stangers, you’re officially a true 2A celebrity. And deservedly so. You’re a positive influence for shooting enthusiasts everywhere. I have to differ with your statement of Franklin Armory having the best accessory for the Ruger 10/22, though. As you probably know, John Norrell developed a select fire trigger pack for that gun years ago. It took him about 18 months to bring it to market, but it was the coolest thing for a 10/22 available to regular folks, and it was affordable at the time. Fast forward to the current day and how the law of supply and demand has changed the cost of a Norrell trigger pack in the post 1986 era. Norrell packs are still around and continue to run well. His design was quite durable and his packs are highly sought after. Prices on them (like all transferable machine guns) have skyrocketed to insane amounts-approaching $25k! I’m blessed to own one and have corresponded with John for advice on keeping it running properly. It’s amazingly reliable if you follow his simple recommendations on ammunition, magazines, and maintenance. Using it is the most fun I’ve ever had shooting any gun, and of course keeping it fed doesn’t cost nearly as much as anything that’s centerfire. The Franklin Binary trigger pack is a really good performer and has a lot going for it. The Norrell is a great trigger pack, despite having to jump through all the NFA hoops to own one.
"The Man with the Golden Gun". I have the older style binary trigger in a 10/22, and it rocks. I have also had awesome luck with the GSG 110 rd. drum magazines. A little bench time, load up 6 of them, and watch the smiles when you get up on the line.😁
Just for fun nothing really beats a .22; rifle, pistol, whatever. And cheap too! There's an old brand of .22 called Gevarm (French) semi-auto that operated with an open bolt. Very easy to jigger into a brrrr gun. Very fast cyclic rate. Had lots of fun as a kid cutting bricks and stuff. One burst with a 15 round mag. Brrr...done.
This just an FYI for anyone interested in one of these. I bought one and installed it in my 10/22. I noticed that if I pushed on the mag release too hard, it would lock up and not release. What I found is that the mag latch was jumping on top of the latch plunger and was hanging up. I switched it out with a factory mag latch and it solved the problem. Just a little info if anyone else is having this same problem. On a good note, this trigger pack is awesome!
Loved the vid! I'm so cheap I don't ever see me getting such a cool piece of kit--not because of the item's cost, but how much ammo I would go through in such a short amount of time!!! Still, it's a great concept! thanks for the review!
As always an awesome video. Would you consider doing a video showing how to remove the old trigger and installing the 22plinkster binary? If you're unhappy with the Vols, come on over to the Gators!!!
I installed one for a buddy. Works fine but that awful sticker for the fire selection on the safety wants to peel off and go missing. This is a lot of money ... they need to do better.
Got one and got it installed. Haven't shot it yet, but If it's just half the fun of the Franklin binary trigger in my Ruger PC Charger it will be worth it...I was so lucky to catch it when they offered a 25% off coupon, so $398.00 shipped.
I swapped out parts to install their trigger in factory pack, the new safety detent is somewhere in low earth orbit now, I had to use the Ruger detent, it worked but the safety clicks were mushy, not positive at all. I wound up horse trading it away, because I have a CMMG adapter for my AR w/binary trigger.
The Franklin binary 10/22 trigger is an answer looking a question. It's a very expensive toy, a waste or rimfire ammo, and an unnecessary 10/22 accessory. And the Plinkster kisses alot of firearms industry butt for money and free anything and everything. Do shooting enthusiasts really need rimfire machine guns? What's nex Plinkster, rimfire grenade launchers? You are part of the problem. I've never seen a Plinkster episode on youth training emphasizing safety, accuracy, and youth programs. Oh... I don't get it. It doesn't put money in your pocket or sell your sponsors' products.
I got one of these when they first came out. Built a fancy charger and still haven’t shot the damn thing! Still looks sexy though To be fair installing the old version isn’t bad, it’s just that stupid trigger pin didn’t quite fit right. I also used a metal housing from a older rifle I had bought for the a hundred bucks. It worked fine in my upgraded bx trigger group, food for thought for those that are curious
Hey, I think I found a huge flaw in the design for this Binary Trigger, I ran about 200 rounds through the gun after installation and my gun broke at the range when I went to release the Magazine the metal Release button hyper extended and got stuck not allowing me to lock my magazine in the gun, I had to leave the range go home and inspect it. I took the gun apart and fixed the issue but after putting it back together and pressing the magazine release it got stuck again, this is where I realized it’s a design flaw. At first I was really happy with the assembly, but I’m kinda disappointed I had to put the stock plastic magazine release for it to work properly. For the money I wish they didn’t change the design of the mag release. No hate just wanted to let you know, I’m sure I won’t be the first or last to have this issue with it :(
Rotating Ambi Safety lever, as is on this, for standard 10-22s would be AWSOME !!! Not that this isn't, because it is...just say'n this type safety would be a SWEET upgrade for any 10-22.
You can have one, Tandemkross makes them and others might as well. They are cheap too. Gotta love Ruger 22's, you can do so many things to them for relatively little money.
@@theTenthlife THANK YOU for the info !!! I have a few dozen 10-22s and have always wanted a safety like this...did not know they are out there, and I look now and then. Never came up on a search. 10-22 are in my top 5 favorite firearms... Thank you again !
That gold gun flashed me back to my days working as a cop in the urban ghettos. If the guns weren't golden their teeth were, sometimes both.😝 Where is the corrupt ATF on these triggers?
That's like asking which way the wind is blowing. I'd like to find a local gun shop where I can buy one with cash just because of the fickle nature of the AFT.
I wonder why Plinkster never uses the GSG 110 round drum for videos like this? I have put thousands of rounds through the two i own and they are more reliable than other magazines I own including the BX25s and Butler Creek.
@mikeofmanymikes2630 I've made 2 videos in 12 years with my products. Cci Stangers and now this. Heck, I don't even push my t-shirts because I hate pandering to people. I don't use the drum mag because it goes against RU-vids terms and conditions. Anything holding more than 50 rounds will get my channel flagged and potentially banned.
@@22plinkster Thank you for the reply. I was not aware of that restriction. Sad. It is good to know you likely use them off camera as the drums are the best way to enjoy these binary triggers. :) I don't agree with the above comment about self promotion for what it's worth. This channel feels far less like that than most I visit. I appreciate the 100 round boxes of "Stangers" as a person that buys and shoots them by the thousand. See you in the next video.
Been watching that ultimate charger vid and was wondering what you used to cut back the chassis to fit that 5 inch barrel. Also I noticed you were shooting high velocity…wonder if standard velocity or subsonic would function with suppressor attached. Thanks
It looks really cool and would be good for 22 because the ammo is cheap but im sure the ATF will have something to say about it.. if it looks cool or looks fun its gonna be made illegal eventually 😂
