We have been also waiting for a perfect Apple Cider Donuts recipe. The real trick is making brown sugar on demand by combining white sugar with molasses - no need for marshmallows, bread, or "sugar bears"!

Or a slice of bread. If your brown sugar completely hardens, add a few slices in and mix up the brown sugar as it softens.

For an added boost of flavor, roll the donuts around in powdered apple cider drink mix after frying. I made apple cider donuts like this for several years and gave them to my son's baseball team and they gobbled them all up every single time!

Just made this recipe but added 1/2 cup of sour cream. Left dough in refrigerator for over 12 hours and they still puffed up perfectly. They tasted delicious, best tasting apple cider donuts I ever tasted. Thanks.

I made these yesterday afternoon and put the dough in the refrigerator for the night. I cooked them up this morning. They were awesome! I used both the sugar and cinnamon and the Maple toppings ( not together 😆). First time ever to make donuts, and all your tips and tricks helped me succeed, thank you, you're a great teacher! One thing I did do, was add Maple Extract to the frosting because I love the maple taste. I learned that hubby liked the donut holes just as well so I don't have to make the donuts, but just the holes and he's happy.🥰Next recipe to try is your chocolate glazed yeast donuts🤩. NOW I DON'T EVER HAVE TO BUY DONUTS AGAIN! I'm making my own, thanks to you😘

They look great. One of my favorite breakfasts is at a restaurant where they take fresh cider donuts and make them into french toast. It's so good...and these look like they could be made into french toast very nicely.

😲😲😲😲😲 OMG, deprived if you never had a cider donut 😉🙃😅 I miss my fave orchard's cider donuts, but it's about 900 miles, so a tad far for a donut run - I've been looking for a good recipe and this one sounds yummy - will give it a try, going next week to local orchard ( never been to one where I live now ) and will get extra cider to try these, picking up apples, time to can applesauce 😃😃😃 I hope you enjoy your first cider donut - they are amazing

This is my favorite fall treat, and this recipe gives me an idea.. I bet you could follow the same process but shape them like an eclair or long john and either (after frying) fill them with apple compote or slice them like a hot dog bun and fill with baked apple slices.

My cousin use to work at a apple orchard and they would make these donuts. She would bring my grandmother and us a bunch of leftover ones even though they were still fresh. I wanted to make some because the remind me of goodtimes in fall.
