That makes sense if the average person walks for an hour a day at a normal pace you’ll burn 250calories and if you just eat your resting metabolic rate in calories you’ll burn fat
When it comes to cardio, stop focusing on what variety burns the most calories. The calories burned by cardio are pretty modest anyway. Just pick something you enjoy and can stick to in the long run. Your diet will always be a lot more important than exercise when it comes to fat loss.
@@oldnatty61 cardio is great to do but it doesn’t burn nearly as many calories as most people think. After over an hour on the treadmill you eat one piece of bread and it’s like nothing happened
@@oldnatty61 exercise is not at all required to lose weight. It helps, but diet is the only thing that matters. All exercise does is allow you to eat more calories and still lose weight
I lost over 150 lbs walking 4 miles a day, with shakes, low carb diet...no surgeries..no meds...after my son Passed gained it back now been doing 10.6 mi on an elliptical/ cycling with walking doing between 900 to 1200 calorie burns 5 to 6 days a week....how about this walking you Will lose weight, basically just anything moving your body will make you lose weight...so everyone keep moving we got this! Great job!❤
It all depends on where your fitness is at. High intensity sprints mixed with longer rides on the bike at a high tension is great. You still working out?
@@sixwacks from 17 stone to 14 stone begs to differ brother. Obviously your diet needs to be right to. I know for a fact because I did it. It 100% burns fat.
No it’s counterproductive and bullshit. Why do something half assed like jogging? Just go for a run. Or if you don’t want to run, just walk. All that in between crap like power walking and jogging is holding you back
Running & jogging keeps me lean & when I need to drop a few pounds it definitely works, idk why there are ppl on the internet saying it’s a waste of time that’s absolutely not true
because not all metabolisms are the same. wich means not every exercicse works for everyone. and he said it's a waste of time because there are ways to burn same amount of calories with less time, he was wrong in calling it a waste of time because it does work for alot of people, but there are ways of doing it ocupying less time of the day. PS: in termos of jogging and running there are actuall studies that show it's only good if you can talk while you do it because it means you are in a specific zone, called the fat burning zone, if you cant speak, you are already using other things and not fat for energy. it's pretty wierd to explain, but it shows jogging and walking and things like that in fact do work
Don’t listen to influencers saying running or walking is useless. You can run and walk it’s good for you especially if that’s good for the level of fitness you’re at
Walking is literally the best exercise. Inclining the treadmill to the max so that it's as if your walking in a hill for 30 minutes will have you rushing to buy new clothes.
Being in decent shape vs being lean are two different things. You could be a fat fuck and still be in excellent shape if you did HIIT. Likewise, you could be skinny, but have terrible cardiovascular endurance if you don’t train at all.
I have a question do you have to jog or run instead of just like normal walking to lose the weight you're trying to lose, because I do like a mix of both I'd walk for 2 hours or sometimes more then I'd jog for like 15 or 10 minutes because I run out of breathe easily even tho I'm not really that fat
@@_could2933I walk for 1-2hrs and eat in a calorie deficit. Weight been coming off quick for me and it only stays the same or go up a pound if I start slacking. But I been consistent enough where even when I start getting lazy, I start right back in the next day and my progress not too far gone
I don’t understand fitness channels these days anymore. I’ve been told for years how running and jogging is good but then I come along a channel like this that says it’s a waste of time. When getting into fitness and looking at fitness videos for advice, it can be discouraging and confusing. I say it’s best to stay away from a lot of fitness channels because they all contradict themselves
Jump roping, let me tell you. You don’t even need to do it for that long. If you can do 1000 in 15 min your good for the whole day. I’ve tried weight lifting, classes, running, walking, at home workouts, vr workouts, Pilates, you name it, but jump roping, was the one excercise that got my whole body looking right. I used 1/4 pound weighted rope and handles, 1000 a day, if your just starting even 600 a day is a good start. It goes by fast if you count by one’s and change the 10 to what ever set of 10 you’re on so 123456789 10 1234576789 20 123456789 30 etc. after a month my clothes were lose, my core was tight, legs were toned, had energy to run, it’s good for the lymphatic system too. And it’s fun with music, jump to the beat !!
I agree. Jumping Rope is like a form of HIIT depending on how one does it. And you don't have to be good at first. Just being persistent and adding more time as you get better will make all the difference.
Any exercise that mimics athletic performance is the best. Juno roping engages your core and a lot of muscles to explode up. The weighted jump rope tones arms and shoulders due to resistance
Walking is better in the sense that it will not or hardly effect your hunger while high intesity exercises will. When walking, you’ll burn less but your body will not increase your hunger, that’s the main benefit of low intensity steady state cardio. With high intensity (running, hiit, etc.) you may burn more calories in a shorter amount of time but your body will want to make up for it and increase your hunger. Basically 50% of what you burned is the amount your body will try to get back. Just be mindful of that, there’s no right or wrong here! Do what fits best for you as an individual, as long as you can stick to it (even on the worst day of your life you should be able to), there’s nothing wrong 🙏 peace and love
That is why trainers like Juice & Toya, Fitness_kaykay, Caroline Garvin and Nicci Robinson exist. I follow them and I'm shedding weight and toning like crazy.
So why do people say springing gets you shredded? I don’t understand as long as your in a caloric defecit and doing consistent cardio u should lose weight.
@@bizzyrizzy4075 You are right but I think there are a couple of factors, being that sprinting boosts natural testosterone and does way more in half the time. 6 to 10 40yrs dashes works you harder in half the time then a 45min run. When I say I jogged all summer I wasn't just slow pace jogging and I was pulling in 30km (thereabouts) weekly.
Well 2 things... 1. HIIT is horrible. You feel like you’re dying 2. I have had an ACL operation so I am not mobile any more... low and slow cardio for me 😅
Not necessarily. Any kind of cardio, whether HIIT or LISS or moderate intensity will obviously burn fat. But, the higher your heart rate is, the more conditioning and endurance based the cardio is, as opposed to fat burn. I know from experience. I always thought moderate and low intensity cardio was a time waster and only did HIIT. While I did get very lean, the fat loss was taken to the next level when I started incorporating aerobic work as well. Best to incorporate both in your routine.
I think his point is not so much that other forms of cardio are completely useless, but HIIT has a benefit of being efficient and optimal in comparison
@@ghettoghost2657 he said all the jogging and power walking is complete waste of time, which is definitely not waste of time. You can definitely burn fat doing zone 2.
Walking does target fat loss just as effective. It’s low impact and pretty much safe for anyone to do. It does take longer to burn the same amount of calories as sprinting.
I can do walking, that works for me , and like everyone says , do what you 💕 love , walking everyday loss me a lot of weight, even dancing is a wonderful cardio workout.
😂🤣🤣 Those poor people in the background taking strays!! 😭😆😆 Cory is 100% correct. The key word here is "time". I lost 20lbs jogging and power walking in 3.5 months. With HIIT, I lost the same about in roughly 1 month. Subscribed.
Any cardio that you love to do the cardio you should be doing! HIT is great, but not my bag. I think it also depends where you live. I’m lucky to be in the mountains and get a mountain bike most days! Nothing gets my heart pumping like climbing between 600 to 1000 feet in a day
@@mementomori5374 it’s true, you can look into it. I’m sure there’s some actual difference in burn with running. But it’s definitely not as much as you think. Because you’re moving your mass or body a certain distance. You burn almost as many calories walking as running. It’s an annoying fact but it’s true. I enjoy running, or jogging I should say. But it definitely brings about injuries more easily. I used to jog a lot. Up to 10 miles trail running but got nagging hamstring issue.
@@bizzyrizzy4075 yes ofcourse thats what i believe to be true…. Why are those people claiming otherwise i hear it a lot from other people to claiming falsehood to be true
@@notimefor5to9he does. His only gripe with HIIT is that some people think they need to try and do it for long extended periods. Like instead of doing it for 10 to 20 minutes, some people think they should do it for 45 to 60 minutes. That's putting too much stress on your body and not necessary.
He’s wrong. LISS is critical if you want long term healthy lifestyle. That being said. HIIT workouts help as well. Everything should be incorporated. No need to focus on 1 thing when you can get a good variety be healthy and be in a win win win win scenario
No that’s wrong bro .. there is no way u can burn the same amount of calories in 15 minutes then an hour … stop acting like u have secrets but just becoming like every other influencer..it’s sad
@@AlmightyQuan no bro … stop 15 minutes of hit is not 15 minutes if u know anything lol remember u are going all out for 1 minute and then resting for 2 minutes…
I always use old fashion speedmarching, with and without 10-15kg plated vest, depending on my mood. Works for me. And kickboxing combos in tabata style. Burpees, tire flips, pyramid up-down with 150-400m runs with pushups/situps/jumpsquats (10-1 or reversed). Nothing beats a good beatdown
Jogging has helped me lose a lot of weight and gain stamina I used to hate jogging/running now I love challenging myself to run for longer and faster. And it helps me jump rope for longer as well. I’ve notice running Helps me last longer in other cardio workouts I do. So in the end jogging/running is just as important in my opinion. There’s a reason Boxers Have to run/jog
I’ve played intense basketball as the hours flew by, (2.5 hours.) my Apple Watch (Not fully accurate.) said I burned 1890 calories. And I was having fun!
Yes i still need to get a jump rope. My tennis trainer said the best way to lose a bunch of calories is to jumprope. I still haven’t got a jump rope yet but i will ASAP.
Bro ty for this education cause tbh I'm ignorant when it comes to factual info about getting abs, losing the weight in an efficient amount of time. Big ups to you bro.
Yeah but power walking literally has documented benefits and is a great exercise for people who can't sprint or do burpees safely....which should be a key point
Well, it depends on what you want to achieve. Low intensity cardio burns the most calories in the most efficient manner IF you’re trying to maintain muscle mass. But if you don’t care to maintain your muscle mass to a certain degree then yeah, HIIT is a great option.
Walking has always been king, something that people aren’t doing anymore, moving more and eating less will melt your body fat faster with less prone to injury, the cool thing about walking is mostly all ages can do it!!!!
Walking and swinging arms with 4 to 6 lb dumbells that get your heart rate up to the range for age? Used to be called Heavy Hands. No need to run or walk fast.
I would say the best thing is to find something you love to do. I love playing basketball. If you enjoy running, ignore this advice and go on long runs. Cycle, swim, rock climbing, there’s so many sports out there that can help you. The only way you’ll stay consistent is if you enjoy what you do
Sir you need to be more considerrant with your advice I'm 65 and just started back working out this spinal stenosis and this sciatica in my arms and left leg has been holding me back but I decided to get up off my butt and start somewhere and that is walking on a consistent basis. Consider those that have an illness holding them back as well and watch your language Young Man 👨 👍 Peace out !
Bench, squat, curls, 5 sets of 10 reps each. Tredmill at 3mph walking for 30 mins. stairmaster for 10 minutes. Solid clean diet. I lost 50 pounds in 3 months. I never jogged or sprinted in the 3 months. I wasnt worried about the time i took to do my cardio. Because i damn sure wasnt keeping track of time when i was eating like shit and drinking beers. Dont let anyone discourage anything thats healthy for you and will achieve your goals.
