In today's attention economy, so many people are trying to steal our attention from us for their own personal gain. It's important to be picky in choosing who we give our time and attention to. One channel I'd recommend everyone check out is ‪@AlasBabylon1‬

THANK YOU so much, my friend! I truly appreciate your kind words. 🧡 You are so right about the attention-gobblers out there. Don Miguel Ruiz talked about that in his book, "The Four Agreements." He called it "hooking," that many things out there are trying "hook" your attention, and once they draw you in, they can either enrich you or poison you, usually the latter. Our time is absolutely priceless. We must spend it wisely. Thanks again!

You're very welcome. I greatly appreciate the library of excellent videos you've put up that I can return to whenever I need something thought provoking in the future. Hooking is a good way to put it. It's also worth noting that when content has hooked a sufficient number of people, the quality generally drops dramatically. How many TV shows have you seen where the first few seasons were amazing, the show got popular, then went to crap? Book series do the same. Video games improved steadily for decades while it was a niche thing. Since they overtook the movie industry in popularity 5/10 years ago, they've become garbage not worth playing. I find the digital age of humans interesting to study from out in the woods 😉

@@TheBackwoodsHermit When that happens, it's usually because the powers-that-be have decided it's time to slip the brainwashing in. Sometimes a show or book will fly under the radar for while. Once the establishment is made aware that people might possibly be thinking or having a revelation, moves are made to sabotage. Stay in the woods, my friend. (I know you will.) 🧡

Thank you as always for your kind words, Alex. I can scroll through RU-vid's recommendations for me for minutes at a time and not find a single thing I feel like even clicking on before giving up. That's strange. I don't know if the problem is the quality of the content or me having expectations too high. Take care.

Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll go check out the channel. I used to play GTA V all day, most of the time just doing jobs to afford new equipment. I’d spend all day on the game just to have maybe an hour of fun. They had me totally hooked. I felt so much guilt after realizing I had pissed the day away when I could’ve been outside playing with Darryl.

Exactly. I don't think stepping out of reality for a while to enjoy some entertainment is a problem, but everything seems to be designed to have us mindlessly hooked indefinitely. Whether it is hundreds of hours of fetch quests in games or endless social media scrolling, the result is the same. Richer corporations and underwhelming lives for us while our life force is harvested.

I agree, and I’ve had to step back from RU-vid a bit recently. I get very overwhelmed with RU-vid. Generally I’m a quiet person, and I’m not well spoken with my words. As a matter of fact I was so shy in high school (back in the 1970’s), that I was held back a year. I try and limit what I watch online, because I don’t believe it’s good for a persons well being. Guess at my old age I’m still a work in progress 😏

I can see the information overload from the modern day really affecting us in ways we don't understand since humans weren't made for that environment. It wouldn't surprise me if this outbreak of psychological disorders has been a direct result of social media exposure. Makes me realize there is ethics involved in posting videos. I need to think of ways of helping people in my content without accidentally hurting them unknowingly. Your quiet demeanor is not something that should be looked at negatively. In your videos, you really radiate with a wholesomeness I don't see often today. When somebody's presentation is too perfect, it instantly makes me feel a sense of skepticism. As if my instincts are warning me that they're trying to rip me off. I'm willing to bet that you care more deeply and love more strongly than others do and the world needs more of that. I for one, am very glad you decide to share your thoughts and experiences with us, Kat. What you may perceive as flaws in yourself, could actually be what others find so beautiful about you and helps make you feel more relatable.

@@TheBackwoodsHermit Thank you so much for this. I sometimes think I share too much. But, I haven’t seen anything in your videos that would hurt anyone. Being real is important (in my opinion). Thank you for your kindness!

Totally. If I were looking to succeed in politics, I'd follow the Trump and AOC formula and be as controversial as possible. The human population seem to like that for whatever reason.

I really enjoy the way AlasBabylon chooses her words to defeat the algorithms and gets the truth out to her listeners. She is a master story teller for these modern times of tyranny. I think the reason she doesn't have 100K subs, is because she tells the ugly truth that scares most of the sheeple. Most prefer to be entertained with fluff, rather than learn the truth of what's going on behind the curtain.

For sure. The deeper meanings under everything she says will reward those who pick up on it. I'm looking forward to giving her videos relistens in the future to see if I can pick up things I may not have caught on the 1st listen. I don't think she'll stay small for long. Like you said, she'll fly under the algo radar enough to keep steadily growing. New channels take time to develop a baseline for the algos to figure out who is watching and who will click on a recommendation.
