Nice work glad to see she's all sorted..... Extend your exhaust over the back with a dump pipe and water inject it on the dump.. That will quite her down a fair amount... The wee 253 in my jetboat has straight pipes with water injection and is pretty good...
Running unregulated bowl water pressure to the engine can blow out gaskets or freeze plugs. Hook up a test gauge to make sure is not excessive, if it's over 16lb you can restrict it at the bowl but use a screen before the restrictor to keep all the big stuff from getting in the system. Cheap jet boating is fun, I run a 1961 Hamilton on the upper Snake river in Idaho. The boat was free, 383 Chevy was $700, 3 stage pump is original & I modified a $100 Berkeley nozzle for it.
your first timing belt drive was a great idea, just not quite big enough. this unit looks like it will handle the stress, only time will tell. as for the exhaust noise: running the tailpipe past the transom will reverberate less in the boat, and plumbing some of the cooling water into the exhaust pipe will quiet it a lot too
Love the vid mate. Little tip when you're using the rode mic i saw you had, by default it is a mono recording so it only sends it to the left ear. What you want to do is put it in stereo while editing so it comes out of both sides. Cheers mate.
