We give you a comparison of the watering systems we have used and we tell you our experience. Which one is the best? Fount vs Fount. Waterer vs Waterer
UK: If we could kiln a ceramic version, it would be brilliant. Anyway, we bought one of these plastic ones; better than the other methods we’ve tried, alas Algae formed. So we sanded, then sprayed the translucent water section Silver (with a strip of tape run vertically). The tape was pulled off, leaving a window to check the level. Silver as it reflects the light. The initial thought was Black but dark colours absorb heat. The algae doesn’t form as quickly, especially with Apple Cider Vinegar added (1/4 cup per five gallons). Thank you for the video and prompting me to add my bit.
Hey neighbors, I live in Freeport Florida. I raise laying hens, have vegetable gardens and just started a small 2 acre orchard this year, so it looks like we have quite a bit in common.
I'm afraid not freezing water will cause damage. It has to be kept in a temperate area away from freezing temps. We don't below freezing here but for a few hours a year
Tell us/show us please how to sdt it up. I get it the large rubber washer has to go on lid to gain the tight seal. Where though does the small washer (that was loose inside the tank go??? (insidd or out)?
The only other rubber piece I can think of is the rubber piece that slides up and down on the stem on the bottom of the water tank to cover and uncover the hole that lets you seal the hole up while you fill it up.
@@FlomatonFamousI'm puzzled then. Inside the drum were 2 black washers (o-rings). The large ring for the lid, and another very small one. Lid is tight, but water drains out! Disappointing.
Thank you but you did not address the problem of cleaning. Not being able to get your hand inside to scrub with soap or whatever when needed is a show stopper for me
I wish it had a larger mouth for hand washing, we've never cleaned ours. Just hit it with a strong stream of water to knock most of the growth off the walls.
This is not the best waterer ! You can clean it properly! The lid is not big enough to put your hand in to scrub it out when it is so hot and it gets green ! The feed like this is also not good the holes are not big enough to let chicken food come out!
