Thanks for this excellent tip. I was 11 games into season and with no direct goals scored from corners - alternating between inswinging near post, far post and short. Changed player assignments for in swinging near post corner as advised by your video and A1 scored from 1st corner of game 12…. Many thanks for the tip… looking forward to further videos on your channel.

Thank you, I used this tactic, and I must be honest, for the first few games it looked terrible, yielding nothing, but I stuck with it. Anyway, Ezri Konsa just scored four goals and an assist in a potw performance beating Leicester 5-0, all thanks to this strategy!

I have the same philosophy of drawing defenders off or away from the "true" target player, to further this you can have C1 "come short" and it will draw a defender out of the box entirely. Actually every once in the while the team will play it short....which was a surprise to me. I have two corner setups....one near post which is played the majority of the time, and another far post...in both I have C1 come short. I'm probably averaging a little over corner goal a game. Not saying I get one every game.....I find that if I get one a game...I'm probably going to get more. But I have gone games without a corner goal too. My target men are Gabriel and Cresswell (youngster from Leeds).

Strangely, I found when I had someone come short the defence sort of moved towards the near post and I struggled to score as many at the near post. Maybe I should have tried sending it to the far.

@@StybbGaming There are a couple of differences between our near post set ups and I don't have the same thing happen (defence moving to near post). My near post set up..A1 - attack near post, A2 attack far post, A3 lurk far post, A4 mark keeper. C1 come short, C2 lurk outside area (far side), D1 and D3 stay back, D2 lurk outside area (center). So I don't have anyone designed as a "box" threat. That's likely based on whatever differences we had during the initial set up.

It should be available in your attacking corner routines if you click in `load routines`

I really dislike the new set piece system. They have made it worse.

I like the new set piece system. In FM 23 (and earlier) I had to manually adjust my corners if I subbed. Now I don't. For me I thought about what made my corners work in FM23 and transferred that over to FM24. I had to mess around with the roles a bit to get them to set up similar to the way I set up in FM23...but I got it. Now in FM24 the AI does defend corners better but I got about 75% or so as good as my corners in FM23.

I feel like it is better, but I'm hoping with next years game it might be expanded. I'd like to tell my players where to start and where to run to really, to set up some cool routines.
