Puma Velocity Nitro 2 wins my vote. Such a comfortable upper, and the midsole has so much life in it.

Thanks Guys, after watching this video I picked up the Novablast 3’s, and I am really enjoying them. Keep up the great videos!

I got the Asics Superblast and will be using it mostly for progressive long runs. My expectations regarding the cush factor was tempered by all the RU-vid reviews, and I was able to appreciate the use case as a super trainer

I got the novablast 3 trail version and love the outsole grip on light gravel trails and wet leaves wet roads. It is holding up well! Novablast 3 is light and surprisingly cushioned . I am 6’1” and 200 lbs and I often hate when shoes midsoles go dead at 100-200 miles and I am approaching that in this shoe has just cosmetic creases and scuffs on bottom but no performance loss !

An idea for a future video - building a shoe rotation for runners who use custom orthotics. I have a heel spur and pronate. Use Orthotic and neutral, but stable shoes. Glideride 2 and Glycerin 20 work really well. Looking for options for racing…

I love both my Novablast 3 & Cloudmonster! The cloudmonster’s not a durable as the ASICS. Having 200 miles in both, the Novablast will last longer for me. They are so comfortable to wear!
@TolunayOrkun
@TolunayOrkun Год назад
Matt, it seems that ASICS sniped Novablast 3 down to AHAR so it would make a case for this overexpensive SuperBlast. Novablast v1/v2 had AHAR+ which is far more durable than AHAR. I have my Novablast 1 at 400 miles and with full outsole rubber and I do wear out the rubber on most shoes on lateral heel (well not as bad and quick as you go through though). We shouldn't have to pay $220 for a daily trainer to get that durable outsole rubber that was available in v1/v2 of Novablast.

I’ve got 125 miles in Novablast 3’s and have had no problems with outsole grip, even in wet/icy conditions. Loving it for easy/long runs, but keeping my eye on the Superblast 🧐

My daily trainer of the year is also from Asics : Gel-Nimbus 24. I thought it was just another very comfortable high cushioning shoe to run very slowly but in the end I was having more fun running fast with it versus other shoes I got like the Pegasus 39 FlyEasy, Puma Velocity Nitro 2, Adizero RC 4 or even my Boston 11 and Mizuno Wave Rider 26. I'm very worried now that I know that Asics will turn the Nimbus 25 some thing similar to a New Balance More V4. While I loved the low stack and incredible bounce and nimble + versatile of this high cushioning Gel-Nimbus 24.

Hopefully the cumulus will still retain some traditional feel underfoot.
@MiracleWarriors
@MiracleWarriors Год назад
@@DoctorsofRunningdon't think so. The Gel-Cumulus used to be a lighter and cheaper version of the "clunky" and heavy Gel-Nimbus. But this year the Cumulus is just a "cheap" Nimbus, it is about the same weight now. I used to buy the Nimbus and the Cumulus every year but now that are the same ... just over is less expensive but still a great shoe, just not lightweight as it used to be.

I am 50 years old and a relatively new runner. Most distance I have managed to run yet is 6km at slow pace. If I could find a shoe that is light, very soft and that does not give me ankle pain I would pay 500 dollars. Bear in mind that it is going to last years for me at that distances/pace. I wear custom insoles so that is not an issue. My running technique surely is.
@Carlosediaz543
@Carlosediaz543 Год назад
I would totally recommend going into a store and letting them fit you for shoes, don’t say u have any preferences, definitely mention the ankle issues. Possible with shoes that are very stiff (tend to be high cushion shoes) can flare up that ankle
@victorfernandez6432
@victorfernandez6432 Год назад

@Carlosediaz543
@Carlosediaz543 Год назад
@@victorfernandez6432 oh so high cushion models these days while soft tend to be really stiff (you can’t bend the shoe) which is great for efficiency but I’m sure the stiffness is causing some ankle/achilles Issues so maybe having a soft shoe with a little more give in the foam and heel would be good for you. But then again I would need to scan and watch u walk and everything so highly recommend going to a local running shoe store and they can fit you

I don’t get the problem in spending $220 in a daily trainer, if someone runs mainly easy miles (like me!) and gets a lots of usage! Definitely a worthwhile investment, more than a racing shoe I’d be only using for a few workouts and races. Having said that, I expected Matt to pick up the Tempus 😊 My personal daily trainer (and shoe of the year) is the Cloudmonster, I’m totally loving them

What a simple comment. Don't you realize that not everyone can affort a shoe of $ 220,- ?
@itsjustzero9323
@itsjustzero9323 Год назад
@@bassgroup6841 that's not the point of the comment though. They're trying to say they'd rather spend $220 on a daily trainer instead of a racing shoe... Not that $220 is cheap, but it seems like you get more out of your money on a daily for that price rather than just a shoe for racing.
@itsahardmuttlife9263
@itsahardmuttlife9263 Год назад
The problem is if people continue to pay for ridiculously priced shoes, these shoe companies will continue to charge these prices. A daily trainer shouldn’t cost $220.
@over1498
@over1498 Год назад
@@bassgroup6841 if they really are as durable as reviewers say, it’s worth it, and some simple math proves it. A Nike Pegasus has garbage durability and will be trashed in far less than half the miles. Same with Boost, and I’d say most others. Of course there are shoes that are cheap AND durable. But it’s definitely not as simple as “$220 is too much”

Superblast is for sure my shoe of year. I have never ever liked a shoe as much as I like, I mean love, Superblast. I have already 100 miles in them and there is no wear whatsoever. Compared to my Novablast 3 (which I also like except for the size issue) the AHAR+ is both grippier and more durable. My biggest issue with Superblast is that I want to use it for every run so I have to force myself to pick another shoe in the rotation from time to time. Regarding $220 - it’s soooo worth it. But I also would recommend Novablast 3. I heard many issues regarding grip, I can’t understand that. I have no issues whatsoever with grip and I live in Sweden and have many miles on both wet and snow and ice and the grip is just fine. No issues.
