I'm a huge fan of glass mugs/cups so this review was awesome! it would be really neat if the company made a silicon like sleeve just for the bottom of the cup. might keep the bodum cup more stable and unless people are huge klutzes (like me) the silicon won't really get dirty.

What coffee/water ratio would you recommend? I do 25g to 300g water, but these cups are smaller than the mug I had been using. Assuming I don't dilute (the Aeropress water channel contains the exact right amount for the cup), what say you?

This would be the technology and materials for my mug of choice to be seen walking out the door and sipping in the car on the way to my morning commute to work. But sadly I think it would need to be engineered to be much narrower on the bottom to fit the car's cupholder, and possibly a detachable, yet somehow also transparent semi glass, semi clear plastic sealed spill cover with vent hole and closable sipping spout for unexpected bumps, figure out all those technicalities, and I'd be proud to have this as the morning commute and workplace walk in hot beverage container, it'd be so much more unique and classy than the metal plastic insulated handled mugs the workforce carries and reuses now.

Definitely wouldn't feel comfortable using a glass cup for a travel mug, but yes: agree on its classiness for my daily brew!

I hate condensation!!!!! I love cold drinks, very rarely do i have hot drinks but the aesthetic is so cute and minimal i cant wait to buy the glass :(

I like the idea of a handle and the wider base, but these are expensive compared to the Bodum, which are $38 for a set of 8 at Costco right now. The Javieres are $15 each where I live, and not very elegant for drinking wine out of.

Great review. I do however disagree with washing glasses with no handles. Almost anything CAN be slippy when washing it (usually because too much detergent is used) - regular glasses, plates, bowls... All have no handles.

of course I own other "regular" glasses, plates bowls sans handles but don't break them regularly. I'm sharing with you my experience. Take it or leave it, but be ready to buy extra cups ;)

I love double wall glasses, however they are not only expensive but the ones that we have brought (two different makes) have broken so easily, just a tap in the wrong place and they are gone.. so am looking for either tougher ones or just glass coffee mugs. i do not know about these ones and as I love these types of glasses so much might try these ones, but as they are all so jolly expensive it will be my last try.

@@dqstudios - Why do you hand wash your glasses? Makes no sense and you waste a lot more water. If they're made for the dishwasher, I'd throw 'em in.

I love Bodum and other double walled glass coffee mugs. I don't prefer any handles unless they are molded into the glass. Handles never made sense to me

JavaGear looks like a company that copies everything and anything Bodum makes... Can still be good of course, but I'll stick with the original.

If it's given to you free, you can't give a fair assessment of it. Sorry, you are not a reliable source. The best double walled mug is Zwilling Henckels Double Walled Sorrento Plus Coffee Mug. I bought mine with my own money. Very expensive. Very high quality. I highly recommend it.

I noted i’ve purchased (and broken) more glass cups than most people purchase. I’ve since moved onto another handled double-walled mug but your lack of trust does not take into account my previous purchases and experience.

Most definitely! I've since returned to my bodum sets though, after breaking the handle off the other one :( . The toughest size seems to be the 12 ounce, since the larger Pavina is prone to tipping.

@@samuelmanny6231 "Easily" might not be the best word since I only had a sample of one. But glass will always be more delicate for sure. That being said, I've since broken another 12ounce Pavina too LOL! #Ibreakthings . Glad my wife took up pottery and we can use her cups now!! www.quinspired.com
