I average 48 miles on my Core 5 battery (same voltage and amps as the Turris). I'm varying my assist at 2 , 3 and 4. My battery has over 2000 miles. I'm very happy with my bike and the Turris has added some nice features- forks, fenders, hydraulic brakes.

Nice that is good to hear your long term results. Thanks for sharing.

I have to think running the bike at assist 5 and at 28 mph has to be a big-time drain on the battery. You were able to eek out 20 mph at assist 3; your commute may take a few minutes longer, but it would be interesting to see how much longer your battery lasts at lower assist. Thanks so much for creating and sharing this video.

Yeah it really is a big drain. In riders where I slowed down I was getting easy 10 more miles per ride. Speed drains it for sure.

I was looking at same subject. I was looking into the Ride Up Turris as a possible long distance for touring but I get better distance on my Aventon Level 2.

i have the father of the Turris, Core-5. it's been extremely good to me, i have 2,000 miles on it. i'd consider upgrading if they did some improvements on battery range. they just made little improvements like brakes, seat, front suspension. those are all parts i can add to my Core-5........

Great review. I purchased the bike for $1055 plus tax. It was on sale at the time. I can't imagine getting more value. I've only ridden it once for maybe 10 miles, and it barely lost a bar if at all. There is some motor noise, but not horrible. Otherwise it's fairly smooth, and maneuverable given its weight and tires. I rode on the street, and mildly in a park over gravel and grass. The assist made it a breeze regardless of conditions and grade. The bike did require a bit of assembly, and further it may require more fine tuning. Seat, handlebars, and derailleur all need a look see for proper fit and operation. It pedaled fine out of the box, but I believe either a pro or some learned adjustment myself is required to make sure the bike is assembled properly. The front brake rubs a bit, and didn't fall into place even with video guidance on minor adjustment. I'll have to pay attention to that during the first few rides, because I didn't go as far as disassembling the unit. Another concern is how true the rotor and wheel is. I think I'll leave that all for a shop to look at. Overall I'm pretty happy with my purchase. It came with a fairly significant pebble-like crater in the front fork very close to where it inserts into the frame. At first I thought it may cause a functional problem, and be cosmetically obvious when assembled, but found it didn't cause a functional issue, and it's mostly hidden when I put the fork completely in. I contacted the manufacturer, and they stated it didn't appear to be a functional issue, and offered me a credit which I accepted. The bike is comfortable, but like I've indicated, you need to get the seat, handlebars, brakes, and sprocket alignment just right to make it feel and perform at its best like all bikes. I'll be looking into a rearview mirror which I think is important. I did buy Ride1up's back rack which integrates perfectly with the bike.

My commute is shorter than yours, but the battery degradation over time would concern me for my distance. That said, for a ‘hood cruiser and errand runner??? This thing sounds awesome!

I just drained the battery in 25 miles at a mix of levels 2/3/4/5 but mostly 3/4. This was on gravel. Specs say 25-45 miles.

I received this bike for my birthday. I rode 8 mile a few days ago and only lost 1 bar. Also I don’t ride with it above level 3 very often. I don’t find a need for it except on hills.

I've been doing research looking for a touring ebike and really like the bike weight category but battery life lasting less than twenty miles won't work. Thank you for sharing. Ride On!

The battery is bigger now with 14Ah instead of 12.8Ah so you get about 10% more capacity.

My experience with this bike has not been good. The brakes are garbage. I had to have them replaced at a specialty repair shop (they are integrated so most shops can't handle it), and now less than a year later and the brakes are feeling doughy again and I'll probably end up getting another bike within a month. The rest of the bike is fine enough, but the brakes are crap and when the bike can reach up to 30 crappy brakes are inexcusable.
@RunBikeMike
@RunBikeMike Месяц назад
As for the brakes you can get several brands that will work. I would recommend hydraulic if you aren’t running hydraulic. If they feel soft then replace the pads and get a brake bleed. That is basic maintenance that any bikes shop can do. If they say they can’t then you don’t want to use that shop.
@chrisdaniel7903
@chrisdaniel7903 Месяц назад
@@RunBikeMike I just got the brakes that came with it from the brand Zoom. And they needed to be bled every 3-4 weeks until I got them replaced. When I got the brakes replaced that required a more specialized shop, and the new Zoom brakes were better lasting another 8 months before getting mushy. Having to bleed the brakes every 8 months would be fine, but after the first set I got were complete junk, I'm skeptical about the new ones fatiguing so quickly.
@RunBikeMike
@RunBikeMike Месяц назад
@chrisdaniel7903 that sounds like 1 of 2 things. 1 the bleeds are not done correctly and you still have air in the lines. Or 2 and more likely you have a leak in the line allowing fluid out or air in. Being a sealed system you shouldn’t have to bleed them more than once a year. How did the pads look? Did they look like they are wearing fast? Or did they have a shiny look to them?
@chrisdaniel7903
@chrisdaniel7903 Месяц назад
@@RunBikeMike This all happened like a year ago so I have to go from memory. When I brought in my brakes to be replaced the guy said that the system looked dry and worn out. That was after like 2 months of use. After I replaced the brakes the new ones worked fine enough for like 10 months. Recently they started getting mushy again. I haven't checked into the problem because I just donated the bike and bought another bike that is a little higher-end and a little more sporty.
