To be fair, it's seriously amazing how badly United are run. In terms of reputation, finances etc. they should be able to be the monster club you see on FM. The difference between the clubs potential and their actual performance is just... I have no words. I feel though that Manchester City are bizarrely underrated. Maybe it's because on my saves they always sack Pep after Liverpool win the title in the first season and then they just kind of... sink away. Always fighting for Champions League but rarely the title.

Man U "rocket to the top of the league" because they DO have a bigger reputation than similar performing clubs in real life and they ARE the biggest brand in England (maybe the world). Now obviously they don't perform like it, and I'm sure if that continues other teams will catch up and surpass them, but that is why ManU are "overpowered." I am not saying that Man U are the best team in the world. Obviously not. Biggest brand means biggest stream of income (not provided by oligarchs and corrupt governments) and the largest fanbase.
Mankestir Younated is good in FM because the game assumes they have competent leadership and use their ridiculous income well instead of financing the glazers.
Totally when i see some in real life I've learned on FM or freaky FN transfers that happen in real life, as a united fan i recently started 1 last united save before FM21 comes out and just last week in the 20/21 winter transfer window i signed facundo pellistri and amazingly over this weekend in real life united have agreed to sign him 😂

To be fair tho, my latest saves i'm doing a bit of different thing. I started the game as usual but unemployed and starting holiday until the next season or a year later basically and make a new manager to be a manager of the biggest club that is struggling that season. Guess what? Man united is in 6, barely get qualified for Europa league just two points away from 7th place (which is spurs btw lol). Ole is out of the wheel. Beaten in UEL final by arsenal.

Man Utd in my save are quite poor, finishing mid table. Its how I landed a job there in the first place after I got sacked from Spurs lol. I had a bad season at Spurs according to the board but at least I finished above Man U
I have never been told I'm being overrun in midfield. However, "We should try shorter passing. " "We should go more direct." over and over again in every game.
Not on topic but I wanted to let you know that your voice alone made my players go from an 8 games no-win streak (2 games away from being sacked) to 5 consecutive matches without losing
