This evokes a lot of emotions. I lost my Dad last year. He loved camping like his soul was attached to the outback. So, I would love to do something like this. I am definitely not as skilled as my old man in regards to this kind of thing but I'd love to try. Thanks Josh for showing, clarifying and visualising something that a lot of us don't get to see... your cinematic sequences are awesome !!
Just watched this one and another one of yours..... It's Friday, I'm fucked off with the world and had enough. But after watching this and your video from couple years ago on the biggest decision of your life..... I've found myself smiling, settled, remembering that same desire of yours to get out and see the world. The visuals, the calm music, the lack of voice - over.....I can't tell you how therapeutic your videos are.
Beautifully done. And thanks for the wrap-up at the end. I've done a bit of hiking, but the body complains a fair bit these days 😂. I climbed Bluff Knoll a couple of years back-that in itself is a solid climb. Reminded me somewhat of St Mary's Peak here in SA. Look forward to seeing more.
@@JoshCarrHikes hey josh. Anytime. I just watched another (dwellingup), I used to summer down there as a kid before moving to the UK. Memories! Really great escape when we are stuck in the house here in the uk. Love it.
We went to Dwellingup for a school trip as well although I can barely remember it. Such a nice place though would love to go back and spend more time around there. Hope things ease up a bit over there for you 👍
Great as always, my friend! The camp and nature is, amazing. Enjoy watching how you cook this delicious meals. And the surrounding nature is amazing. Cheers from Russia, bro, and welcome to my channel about Russian bushcraft tips! Regards, Yuriy!
It’s possible and has been done many times before but you’d have to be very fit and know where the track ventures. The highly unpredictable weather would only add to the difficulty too
@@JoshCarrHikes literally just said that to your reply 5mins ago lol, better ones on the west coast mate franklin river gordon national park check that area out!
7:21 deadset climbed up that hill came back to get camera kudos to you mate I thought my local mate who has made 3k subbs in 1 year does good nah mate this guy here goes full lengths to edit like a pro I just uploaded a over night hike a said I cbf with that shit but in the end it pays off done well mate love from Hobart
@@JoshCarrHikes yeah hes up north not south like me, only been emailing him for a couple of months now for a tassie colab video, even with levi, then jane 2.0 came out im like ok then lmfao.....sent me a few track notes on what hes done beside the kayak adventures and the new video of stannards grave .....
Awesome once again mate! Looks epics! Tackling this on Thursday so you’ve got me even more excited! Except now I have to compete with your video and not sure I’ll get even close to making one as good as yours😅
Cheers Tyson! It’s an absolute pearler of a hike, you’ll have a ball of a time. Friendly competition is healthy 😉 keen to seen how your experience pans out
Wow! Very nice! It's like camping with you and it's so much fun! The sound of nature is very nice! I can't go on a trip right now, so watching this video made me feel happy! Thank you🤗💕
Great video and narration mate. Have climbed Bluff Knoll in September 2019, but on a uncharacteristically hot day with constant NE winds. So unfortunately missed out on the fog and cold weather that I was hoping to experience. On a side note, good to see that the Stirling Ranges has recovered quite well from the devastating bush fires last year. It looked quite green and nice. Are there still any signs of the bushfire? Oh and how is the new Bluff Knoll hiking track?
Thanks Shounak! That’s a bit of a bugger but seems to be very much a luck game whether you get the fog & clouds rolling over the ranges. It’s a hell of lot greener now than a few months ago, but it’s still pretty evident a fire ripped through the area. Certain parts were a lot worse than others but was still good to see it recovering. Bluff Knoll track is great, they’ve done a great job of it. To be honest I didn’t really notice much difference though to when it ~3 years ago
Josh, what a stunning adventure and so majestically filmed .... thank you so much for battling across the ridge (the sketchy bits! eeeek!) and posting. Now I definitely have to travel to WA (whenever Sydney can come out of lockdown) to do Stirling Ridge, and the Purnululu trek that you also filmed. You're a champ - keep it up, we love your work!
This is awesome man. And thanks for the commentary at the end. Didn't even know about this hike, so thanks for making it known. This is one to add to the list.
Epic . 11:42 looks correct path, quite sketchy if you are hiking on your own, I'd guess it was difficult to recover camera. A rope and a friend to lower or haul pack is useful in those spots. 11.54 you are certainly breaking new ground there. Glad you had favourable weather to keep you company.
Cheers Jamie! Funny you say that, I actually thought I was offtrail at 11:42 and ontrail at 11:54! At 11:54 there was actually a bunch of little cairns that someone had placed all along there. Who knows 😂 I feel like I need to redo it just to figure out the actual track!
Simply spectacular Josh, one of the best in Australia 👌 an epic adventure to be sure 🙏well done bloke, not many make it through the first time. Very wise words, pick your weather window and consider your experience!
I was pretty fortunate the weather didn't get worse. I can't imagine how much more difficult & dangerous it would have been going throw the arrows section while it's raining.
I love your videos! Your camera shots and the music together, really capture and focus on the beauty of nature, which I appreciate a lot. They are so relaxing to watch. Thank you. I have just recently become interested in hiking, and your videos definitely motivate me to get out there and experience nature even more.
Cheers Joey! The Stirling Ridge Retreat offer a shuttle service. Runs 7 days a week from sunrise to sunset. $80 to be dropped off/picked up at Ellen Peak side & $20 to be dropped off/picked up at Bluff Knoll carpark
Hey Josh, great video as usual. How do you like the Atlas Adventure as someone who’s used it extensively? It looks pretty huge, do you find it to be overkill or perfect size for multi day hikes with some camera gear as well? Have you been able to use it as carry on or do you have to check it while flying. Thanks for your help
I’m a big fan, it’s pretty hard to fault really. If I had to pick on something it would the weight as it’s a pretty hefty pack. But as someone’s that’s into the outdoors and videography/photography it’s near-on a perfect bag. Keeps all the camera gear safe whilst also having enough room to carry the hiking essentials. I haven’t used it as carry on before but that’s meant to be one their biggest selling points
Western Arthur’s is the one trail in Aus I’m a bit iffy about tackling solo. I’ve heard it’s similar in difficulty to the Stirling Ridge Walk which makes me a tad nervous given the length of it. Super keen to give it a go though, just maybe once I’ve got a few more difficult hikes under my belt 😅
How did you navigate that track? It certainly didn't look like a marked trail to me. Also, I'm hoping you'll do a portion of the Larapinta Trail one day. I'll be happy to provide ground support.
Just through the AllTrails app. Probably wasn't the wisest move for a trail like this one but it did the job. Larapinta is in the works, I actually booked the track support earlier today 😅
@@rebeccamcloughlin3596Haha you can keep the cold!! It was a min of 6 and max of 14 today here and I swear my fingers are about to drop off. Bring back Summer already I say!
