The HDZero Nano V2 is the latest camera from HDZero, offering 4:3 and improved image quality in a nano-sized package. But how does this new camera stack up against the rest of the lineup? I put it to the test to find out.

Great review and comparisons man, you actually made some really good points and observations that I didn't even notice. But now that you pointed them out I can't unsee it (more fisheye than the micro V2). You hit it out of the park on this one!

I just bought a setup for HDZero and am pretty pumped about it. I got two micro cameras but if I find I love HDZero I may convert my smaller 2” builds and am probably looking at the Nano camera next

Great review! If only more FPV video are formatted as such rather than aimless flying around. The screen capture of the camera was awesome it highlights how diff the camera process the video. Great work and hope to see more of your content soon. Was wondering if weight is not an issue and i should pick nano v2 or micro v2 and you answered it all. Awesome stuff!

Hello, I'm needing a new hdzero whoop vtx and don't know whether to get the whoop lite or V1. Also do you think nano V2 is better than Micro V2? Id like to see whoop lite with nano V2 combo if whoop lite is a more durable board than whoop V1. Please any comments are welcome.

On the micro V2 I switched the lens to a RunCam RC5L lens to get the full 16:9 image without any crop or vignetting and to get the best overall image size since the sensor is a native 16:9 sensor. But I’m wondering if there is a suitable lens to achieve the same on the nano V2 ? Did you come across any ?

Nano V2 cam Getting ' Repower vtx ' when I select 4:3 aspect ratio in cam settings. Unsure what its asking of me. When I reboot its the same msg

No, I don’t think it’s in any kits. Best bet is to buy it separately and choose whichever vtx fits your build best. Don’t forget a mipi cable and antenna.

Is the 16:9 full setting available on the micro v2 cameras also?If so will it require new firmware ?

This sounds like you may need to update your firmware. You can find the latest at www.hd-zero.com. Make sure to update both the VRX and VTX.

The nano v2 lens gets rid of the distortion but keeps the FOV similar and makes flying way more enjoyable IMO. The main US FPV stores have it. I'd be curious to see it on the V2 nano camera

Yes, they’re all compatible. I was using a whoop vtx for most of my nano v2 testing.

They’re very similar, but the micro V2 has less distortion on the edges. For a 7”, I’d probably go with the Micro V2 since the frame can probably fit a 19mm camera.

How do you change those white flashes of static white pixels to black pixels? If there's no legitimate information in a pixel, it should be black, not white That white sh1t could cause somebody and epileptic seizure while flying. Do you know how to do that. I find a white strobing light right into my face very disconcerting. There are goggles out there in fact that display static as black, not white, so this is not some weird thing to ask for. Also, it ruins your DVR recording for anything cinematic (if that's what you're into ).

Compared to the Digisight v3, no it isn't the best Cam for hdzero. More functional but not the overall best Cam for hdzero.

End of September if everything goes without a hitch, October in your hands realistically. Skyzone should have their HDZero goggles out before that I’m thinking, I assume… Cobra X V3? as they have been working on it for a few months now, might be the end of this month (August 2022)??? Noone has a 100% timeline, but this should be accurate. Hope this helps.

It was new to me… other than knowing Skyzone was working on another version of the Cobra X as I have the X2s… and I put two and two together. Edit: thank you for all you do! Love your content!
