I am a real world Airline pilot with thousands of hours flying the real aircraft and thought it would be fun to have a look at the detailed simulations of airliners in MSFS and X Plane. Hopefully you find this useful and it brings another perspective to your simulation. Any thoughts or comments are welcome!

This feature was disabled, this was mentioned in the video as I think it happened too many times when 320 sim pilot was attempting to land.

I did a split S and he bailed on me. Surprised me. Lastnight was my first time to experience MSFS and I am straight from warthunder lol. I enjoyed the immersiveness while using the flight stick.

Hey there 320 Sim Pilot! I’m a DCS Twitch Content creator (albeit a bit smaller than you 😉). If you’ve never flown with a human RIO in the back seat, I’m fluent in RIO procedures and would love to go up with you for a sortie or two sometime in DCS. I’m sure you get offers all the time, so no worries if not, but I think it definitely would be a fun opportunity for you to give it a shot and get some DCS footage ☺️.

Another Heatblur masterpiece! Hard for me to justify as I already own it in DCS, but I have to say, they’ve done an incredible job in MSFS! Very cool. Can’t wait for the Heatblur Phantom in DCS!

@@lvx4408 You can see your house! You can sit a dog next to (behind) you! You can even pay for effects that come for free in DCS... Yeah. We know MSFS. And to be fair, I have the F-14 in both sims, and it is great in both sims.

@@fabiena1787 Its wonderful to have it in msfs 2020 but its definitely not up to spec with the dcs one in terms of flight modeling, which is mostly due to msfs's physics system not supporting swing wing supersonics properly

What a wonderfully detailed & informative video for this amazing addon aircraft, yet without getting over complicated. Thank you very much! Knowing your love of the F-14, you were one of the first people I thought of when this baby dropped lol. As is often the case, I bet you were away when it released and I can imagine the frustration:-) Wish I had more time to get to know this bird. So many addons - not enough time.

At 20:15 i think Jester says (in a russian accent) "Watch EKRAN" which is a reference to the DCS Ka-50 (with english avionics set), which yells that at you when you break something, sort of a master warning.

You can really see the limitations of the MSFS flight model here. It's never really handled the physics very well when an aircraft departs a normal flight envelope. This plane is immensely more dynamic in DCS.

I own the DCS one. The flight dynamics are puportedly better in DCS than the MSFS one. And also the weapons, more interactive Jester, functioning LANTIRN and AWG-9 radar set it apart, for me. I can’t fly military stuff just for sightseeing, defeats the purpose. However, I get why people will buy it in MSFS (Particularly if they don't own DCS) as it's clearly brilliant.

You can tell where the MSFS flight modeling falls short. High alpha flight isn't something it does very well. Even though it's significantly better than at launch, it still seems to have that "on rails" characteristic it's always had.

I own this for DCS. So i initially avoided it in MSFS because i feared it would just be arcade-like eye candy for mass market and w/o any realism. But thanks to his review am now taking a serious 2nd look…👍

@@majoraviatior1611 I actually own MSFS and have flown it for thousands of hours. It’s pretty decent if you choose aircraft judiciously. I feared the F-14 itself was a money grab w/o too much behind it. (I didn’t think MSFS itself was an arcade-like flight sim.)

@@baomao7243 Its definitely crippled by msfs's flight model limiations, which outright doesnt support swing wings officially. And supersonic flight is very odd too. I recall asobo stating supersonic flight was "supported" after su7 update, but its still weird

Now I'm just waiting for a joystick with a decent and affordable floor-mounted solution so we can have a linear sensitivity curve. I'm not touching these aircraft with a regular joystick.

Sorry, but I don’t get this one. It seems to be the DCS F14 but worse in every way. Plus no weapons or purpose other than ferry flights. There are loads of better ways to explore scenery in MSFS.

The flight model is terrible honestly. Thats the part heatblur themselves would need to have done. Indiafoxtecho does good work but the fm just isnt there. I think it could have been much much better if more time was put into the flight model
